Hey everyone, and welcome back to our BTS Overview & Theory series! This time, we’ll be covering PoptropiCon, Ep. 2: Spoiler Alert, written by myself, Samwow5, and HPuterpop (thanks to Fishy for writing the last BTSO&T). To read our BTSO&T for the first episode of PoptropiCon, click here.
(By the way: PoptropiCon, Ep. 1 is now available on the Poptropica app for 99 cents!)
WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW (but that’s what you want, isn’t it?)

Overview of evidence
In the last episode of PoptropiCon, we broke into the building by using a catapult (which went along with what we predicted). Sure, this got us in to the building… but what next?
Card Deck (see card images below)
The winner of the PoptropiCon costume contest will earn a one-of-a-kind prize. See if you can put together the ultimate villain outfit, but beware — the action at this convention is about to get real!
From the synopsis of the episode, we can already tell that we will be competing in a costume contest (the recently posted Poptropicon 2 poster also supports this).
Anyway, let’s first take a look at some of the major Spoiler Alert themed Daily Pop sneak peeks. As with all images in this post, please click to enlarge the pictures.
As you may be able to gather yourself, there will also be some sort of card contest. That’s two contests already… could there be any more? Below are what the cards will look like.
Dirt Claude
Elf Archer
Gold Face
Fashion Ninja
Hench Bot
Meow Bot
Mutton Chops
Omegon
Pony Girl
Teen Arachnid
Trash Collector
World Guy
Phew, I think we got them all! I also want to mention (from the Daily Pops above) that the last two images hint at us having to avoid surveillance or something to that effect. Now let’s take a look at some behind-the-scenes dialog and text:
Well, we seem to have clarified the card game, which is related to the Poptropica-invented franchise “Mighty Action Force”. The dialog also tells us that we will be looking for an Elf Archer costume. Could the card game be related to this? Maybe what we have to accomplish in this episode is just to collect the perfect items for the perfect costume.
We also wanted to mention how this episode will in fact have a common room! If you didn’t know already, episode 1 was updated with a common room (after its release, strangely enough).
In the “Demo Hall” image, you can see the edge of the “Showdown” Daily Pop. In the last image, you can see the edge of the “Galaxy Litigation” (poster) Daily Pop. In multiple images above, you can see posters for the costume contest. Nothing else is really given away, but it gives us a good sense of what we will see.
There isn’t anything else worth showing to determine the plot, so here is our final theory! 🙂
Final theory
In PoptropiCon – Episode 2: Spoiler Alert, we will put together the best costume possible to win the costume contest. To do this, we go around doing certain tasks, such as winning a Mighty Action Force card game. But before we can win, we have to collect all the best cards.
That may not sound like the deepest theory ever, but hopefully it sparks some ideas! Are you excited for PoptropiCon: Ep. 2? We definitely are! 😀
Hey Poptropicans! Along with all the behind-the-scenes ideas the Creators have been tweeting recently, they’ve also put in some sketched-out scenes for Arabian Nights Island (which comes out this Thursday for members)! (click to enlarge images below)
And we’ve already seen the logo drafts for Mission Atlantis, but the Creators have just tweeted some logo designs for Arabian Nights Island as well! I personally like the final logo the best, but all of them are pretty cool. 🙂
Plus, there is finally an Arabian Nights members only item out! It’s a printable poster of a book cover with your Poptropican on it (similar to the PoptropiCon poster). Here’s what it looks like:
Members can get theirs for free in the Store. Anyway, that’s it for now, but stay tuned for when Arabian Nights releases tomorrow! 😀
Hey guys! We already know that the BoxTrolls ad has been showing up on some islands, but two new ads have popped up too. Unlike a lot of ads, these don’t come with a “quest” or “game”, just a video for one and a click for the other.
First up is Disney Infinity, which now includes superheroes. You can find it on Reality TV Island. All you have to do is watch a video to earn your prize, which is a “Bring on the Super Heroes” power. When activated, a screen appears with a few Marvel super heroes, but that is pretty much it.
The second ad is for Mr. Peabody and Sherman, coming to Blu-Ray and DVD on October 14. You can find it on Steamworks Island, and all you have to do is click it to earn your two prizes: a pink Cake Costume and a link to take Penny’s Personality Quiz (which tells you somewhere you should visit).
Also, the Creators recently featured some more awesome new Land creations on their Twitter page:
Rough Peanut’s deli
Big Raptor’s house
Creepy Gamer’s statue
Fierce Wolf’s “Despicable Me” minions
Neat Beetle’s… awesome house thing
Amazing work! The Creators even said that Big Raptor’s creation was their favorite yet. It’s kind of hard to see, but the interior design definitely is detailed. 😉
However I do want to say that PoptropiCon has to be one of my favorite islands right now. I love how there were random Poptropicans (that you could customize) that just roamed around the island (along with the Poptropicans you could actually talk to). It made it feel more like real life, ya know? 🙂
Anyway, let’s get to it, shall we? First off, PopLand has been updated to include animals. Most of them will harm you, but a few are nice and will mind their own business. (For the PHB’s guide to Land, click here!) Sadly, the furniture that we saw in the sneak peek was nowhere to be found or earned. Hopefully they will be added soon because in my opinion, the animals aren’t that big of a deal. They can hurt us, but while we can’t tame them, we can get rid of them by bringing them to lava. Click to enlarge the images:
Don’t be surprised if you find yourself face to face with a blue-feathered tigerphant or an elusive fox monkey while exploring in Poptropica Land! Strange creatures will be showing up in the next version of the Poptropica Land labs project. Just be careful, they’re not all friendly!
You may also get an invitation to take a survey about Land, which you can check out here. From past experience, the Creators do listen to our suggestions, so be sure to let them know what you’d like to see in future Land updates!
As the video says, it will be released on October 14, 2014, but you can pre-order it now. According to the Creators…
The 3DS version of Forgotten Islands includes all of the content from the iOS game, including seasonal costume packs, and is presented in stereoscopic 3D! You’ve never seen Poptropica like this before.
…so if you’ve played it before, it’ll probably be the same game, just on the DS. 😉 To see what the iOS version of Forgotten Islands is like, check out the PHB’s walkthrough here!
Is that a new Poptropica video game?! Hmm… remember Brave Tomato’s post where she mentioned a certain part of the Creators’ Blog that hinted at a new video game in the sidebar?
Well, her findings have paid off! According to a recent tweet from the Creators, this new video game will be coming soon. Specifically, the game is for 3DS and is called Poptropica: Forgotten Islands. Sound familiar? Yep, it was an iOS app. Below are previews to what the game will hold:
Poptropica: Forgotten Islands for the 3DS will come out on October 14, 2014, but you can pre-order it now for about $30. By clicking the link in the previous sentence, you can also see the synopsis and other details for the game. If it’s anything like the iOS version that already exists, though, you can read all about it and see plenty of screenshots in the PHB’s walkthrough!
In other news, we are expecting another Poptropica Land update soon. A recent Poptropica tweet gives hints for what will be added in the update. (Click to enlarge the image.)
As you can see, the sneak peek shown above features furniture (a table, an armoire/cabinet, and a suit of armor), plus various animals. Hopefully we will get to play with these features (and more?) soon enough. Plus, will we possibly be able to customize parts of the animals? They do look fairly Poptropican size. 🙂
