Fanfic: Seven Systems 🪐 Part 1: The Airship

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by HeartOfEnder. Enjoy!

Welcome to a new fanfiction written by HeartOfEnder! This one is different from my previous fanfic on the PHB, The Witch’s Heart, because it takes place in a different timeline. But first, allow me to explain the inspiration behind this new fanfiction.

Last year, I wrote two Popspiracy posts regarding the Baron and their backstory, with the second part being more focused on the Red Queen and all the lore shared alongside her reveal. My original plan was to wait until the official conclusion of her story and make a follow-up post where I go over my theory and see if any of them were true, but as of writing this, the Baron’s ship hasn’t shown up since last year

With the Pop Creators still being quiet on the current state of Poptropica, and suspicions that the game might end, I decided to do what I do best. If the Creators aren’t going to conclude the Red Queen story, then I’m going to use my powers of writing to create a fanfiction of how I think the story will end.

This is exactly what Seven Systems is about. It’s a continuation of Poptropica’s story told through the Baron’s airship visits and based on my theory about their backstory and the Red Queen’s motives.

The protagonist of Seven Systems is Tempest, who takes the role of the player in the story. She is based on myself and my main non-Poptropica OC, but more on her story and her past will be addressed in the future…

THE SEVEN SYSTEMS
Part One: The Airship
A Poptropica Fanfiction by HeartOfEnder/Solemn-Siren

Home Island was covered in snow, with Grapple-Pap decorations being put outside shops, homes, and in the streets. By now it was so cold that everyone walking outside was wearing heavy winter coats, beanies, and gloves. The island was covered in green, red, and most importantly, white.

On top of a gray house with a blue roof just across Adventure Outfitters, there was someone lying down on the roof, the snow falling and piling up on her body. The cold winter didn’t seem to bother her as she stared out at the horizon, as if she was waiting for something.

Two Poptropicans walked past the gray house, noticing the mysterious Poptropican on top. They muttered something before shrugging and continuing on.

The Poptropican atop the gray house remained motionless, still staring out at the horizon. The snow was beginning to form a giant white blanket on her, but she didn’t seem to care.

???:

Wait, is that it? Could it be?

The Poptropican blinked twice, checking the horizon to make sure she wasn’t dreaming. There was a tiny speck of crimson in the dark gray sky, coming towards Home Island.

???:

The airship!

The Poptropican quickly jumped up, shaking off all the snow that was on her body. This revealed her dark blue wings and a long, serpent-like tail. She jumped off the roof of the house, landing on a pile of snow and knocking over a Grapple-Pap decoration nearby.

She ran towards Adventure Outfitters, and pushed open the door, the bells on the door alerting AMELIA that a customer had entered the shop.

AMELIA emerged from under the counter, all dressed up with a blue and pink scarf around her neck.

AMELIA:

Welcome to Adventure Outfitters! How can I help—

She stopped mid-sentence when she saw the snow-covered Poptropican who entered her shop.

AMELIA: (surprised)

Tempest? Why are you covered in snow? Don’t tell me you were standing out there in the cold all day long!

The Poptropican, TEMPEST, sighed. By now any snow left on her body had melted away from the heaters inside the shop, leaving a small puddle on the ground and her clothes soaking wet.

TEMPEST:

The cold never bothered me anyway.

AMELIA:

Still, you’re going to catch a cold if you keep doing that!

She turns to all the products being sold this month, which included coats, scarfs, and warm clothes to match the winter season.

AMELIA:

But luckily for you, I have a wide variety of coats on sale! And they’re on sale today, because I heard it’s about to get much, much colder next week! If you don’t want to be told off again, I suggest that you buy a new coat.

TEMPEST stared at the selection of coats being sold, before turning back to AMELIA.

TEMPEST:

That’s not what I’m here for, but I’ll remember to buy a new coat later. You’re not going to believe what I saw in the sky just a few minutes ago!

AMELIA:

Tempest, blimps come here all the time.

TEMPEST:

Not a blimp! The Baron’s airship!

There’s an eerie silence as AMELIA quietly processed what she just heard.

AMELIA:

Whose airship?

TEMPEST:

The Baron’s! I’m certain! It’s coming towards Home Island!

AMELIA remained motionless, before picking up a photo of her and the Baron.

AMELIA:

But we haven’t seen them since Rumpel kidnapped them last… August was it?

TEMPEST:

Exactly! That’s why I wanted to tell you! Because it’s a mystery! And I want to get to the bottom of this! What exactly happened to the Baron? And where have they been all this time?

Several hours passed by as TEMPEST and AMELIA waited for the airship to dock. During those hours, AMELIA continued running her shop as usual, while TEMPEST stared out the window, not even stopping to take a break.

When the giant airship finally docked on Home Island, TEMPEST quickly made her way to the statue, swiftly making her way up onto the main deck. AMELIA, after closing her shop for the day, followed her.

TEMPEST:

Baron? It’s me, Tempest! I just want to ask some questions! It’s nothing serious!

There’s no answer. AMELIA knocks on the door of the Baron’s Cabin of Curiosities, but there’s also no answer, and the door is locked.

TEMPEST:

I don’t see that tiny monkey anywhere. Just how did the airship even get here in the first place with no pilot?

AMELIA shrugged. TEMPEST noticed the locked door to the cabin.

TEMPEST:

A locked door. I see.

She kicked the door open, surprising AMELIA. The door fell to the floor, revealing the inside of the Baron’s cabin.

The Baron’s Cabin of Curiosities was dark and dusty as usual, like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. There was a familiar woodsy scent in the air, followed by the strong smell of oil. Simply walking across the wooden floor caused the wood to creak with every step.

Perhaps the most important thing that was missing, other than the Baron, was the lack of treasure.

TEMPEST:

I don’t smell any treasure. I definitely don’t see any treasure here. That’s odd. The Baron always comes back with something to sell. Even when it was just Ack or anyone else, there was always something being sold.

TEMPEST examined the Baron’s throne, looking up at the silver plate where there were usually grapes. However, there were none.

TEMPEST:

Nothing… seems like no one’s been here in a while.

AMELIA:

Do you feel that?

TEMPEST turned around to face AMELIA, holding the silver plate in her hand.

TEMPEST:

Feel what?

AMELIA:

The feeling… that we’re not alone.

TEMPEST stared at her confused, before all the lights in the cabin went out, leaving the two in the dark. AMELIA screamed and shouted random gibberish.

A pair of yellow eyes appeared behind TEMPEST, followed by purple smoke coming from the gaps between the floorboards, but it was hard to see in the dark.

???:

You. You’re exactly who I need.

THE SHADOW laughed, before grabbing TEMPEST. She was pulled into the darkness, being swallowed by the pitch-black shadow of the cabin. She tried to scream, but no sound came out.

To be continued…
