The PHB 11 Million: Monster Raffle!

UPDATE: The raffle winners have been announced! Click here for the post!

Hey everyone! As you may have heard, the PHB just recently reached 11 million hits! We’re going to be having a party on the PHC & Poptropica this Saturday to celebrate, and you’re invited! The party has since ended, but you can read our recap here. However, there’s still a chance for you to enter our Monster Raffle!

That’s right! Along with the upcoming party we had, we’re also hosting an 11 Million Monsters Raffle! Long ago – 10 million hits ago, in fact – the PHB held a giveaway of rare monster costumes in celebration of our first one million hits. The prizes were leaked Monster Carnival costumes, and you can learn more about the contest here.

Now that Monster Carnival is finally a reality, it’s time to have another giveaway — this time with rare costumes from the island, complete with parts you thought were uncustomizable! We’ll be raffling off 11 Monster Carnival costumes (see below) for our 11 million hits!

The deadline to enter the raffle will be April 4, 2014 at 11:59 PM CST. To enter, just leave a comment right here on this post telling us something special about you and the PHB, like what your favorite page is or how long you’ve been a regular reader of the blog. Also, tell us if there’s a costume you prefer from the above and please leave a like on the post, it shows you appreciate!

We will pick eleven lucky winners completely by random and email you the account info of the rare costume, so make sure you enter a valid email address in the email field (not in the comment field, so it won’t show to the public)! Good luck – you may hear from us soon…

Ads – Dragons: Defenders of Berk & The Pirate Fairy

Hey Poptropicans, there are a couple of new ads on Poptropica’s Main Streets right now! On Monster Carnival, I found this video ad for Dragons: Defenders of Berk, a TV series now on DVD, based on the film How to Train Your Dragon. Watching the video gives you the Terrible Terror Follower.

Also, on Mocktropica, there’s an ad building with a game for Disney’s The Pirate Fairy, a new Tinker Bell movie coming to Blu-ray and Digital HD April 1. Anyway, head inside and you’ll find out that all the fairies have lost their powers. You’ll be sent to sneak around on a pirate ship, and every time you see a pirate, you’ll need to click on Tinker Bell to blast them away. At the bottom of the ship, you’ll find the thieves who stole the blue fairy dust, and you’ll win two prizes.

From the Pirate Fairy ad, you’ll win an unnamed power (which simply advertises the movie on your screen) and an untitled costume. I think the dragon follower from the other ad was cooler… 😛

Anyway, enjoy the prizes! 😀

The PHB’s 11 million hits party!

The party has ended! Click here for the recap. Hope you had fun! 😀

Hey Poptropicans, believe it or not, the PHB just recently hit the big milestone of 11 million views! Wow, that’s a huge number. To celebrate, we’ll be throwing a PHC/Poptropica party! 😀

11m party

(But that’s not all – we’re also raffling off 11 rare Monster Carnival costumes, and all you need to do is comment on our Monster Raffle post!)

Party plan

You heard right! We are having party to celebrate the great eleven million! The date will be March 29, 2014, and for US residents, the time will be 9pm EST, 8pm CST, 7pm MST, and 6pm PST. If you don’t live in the US, use this time converter to find what time the party will be in your time zone.

You’ll get to meet PHB authors and other bloggers and readers of the Poptropica community, so bring your fireworks, balloons, and other party gear! Get ready to battle in Multiverse rooms, chat with Poptropicans, and add some new friends to your list! The party takes place on the PHC (Poptropica Help Chat), which you can access by clicking on “Chat” in the navigational bar at the top of this blog or visiting xat.com/thephc. The chat will be moderated, so it’s a safe environment. Any rule-breaking will result in a kick or ban, so please don’t spoil the fun. If you have any questions, ask me in the comments! It’s going to be tons of fun, so join in the party! 😀

Here’s a pic of the PHB hitting 11 million! 😛

Samwow5: author’s note

The PHB has been fortunate to get a lot of viewers and thrive under it. I remember coming on here every day so I could be inspired by the great PHB writers, and for two years, I watched as the blog hit 7 million, 8, 9, 10… and now 11 million. This blog has meant so much to me over the past couple of years. If I was stuck on something in Poptropica, the PHB always had what I needed.

When I became an author here, I was overjoyed and was shaking for days, so know this: I hope you all can be inspired by me and any other bloggers out there. Dear PHB readers, we couldn’t have gotten this far without all of you, so thank you. 🙂 As always, keep coming back to the PHB for the latest & greatest Poptropica everything! Thanks for reading, and see you at the party this Saturday!

The Survival Files: the Winged Creatures

(¯`·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.-> Hi Gs, <-.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.·´¯)

Yes, the winged creatures. These birds of all kinds, from seagulls to owls to woodpeckers, will quite frankly be haunting your life in Survival Island. These are the Survival Files, and danger awaits…

Let’s discuss the birds that we may be seeing in Survival Island. In some of the early pictures from Reality TV Island (which is based off of Survivor), the main setting was a mountain theme. In one such sneak peek that never became a reality, a seagull and its nest are shown.

In Survival Island, one of your main goals is to survive, and one way to do that is to find something to eat. Comic Kid is not sure if the bird would like it if he were to eat the eggs laying inside the nest.

As we know from the Daily Pop, one of the items from Survival Island is a nest.

But enough about seagulls — let’s talk about owls. In a Daily Pop from a few months ago, an owl in horrible shape is shown. He seems to have fallen apart, but it’s probably for the animation pivot points. This owl also seems to have multiple babies (then again, perhaps it’s just the process of animation).

Perhaps this will be the final boss of the owls, because this island appears to house many other owls. From the looks of it, they will be jumping out at you for the most part. 😛

Besides seagulls and owls, it looks like woodpeckers will also appear on Survival Island. You can find one flying through the forest in the desktop wallpaper.

And that’s just the birds! Tune in next time for More on the Story of Survival Island. 😉
