Ringmaster Costume & Poptropica Labs fan video!

ringmasterHey everyone! I went on Poptropica and I saw, in the Store, that the Ringmaster Costume for Monster Carnival Island is already out! It hasn’t even been posted on the Creators’ Blog yet! The costume has three colors: Red, White, and Purple. (I like the red one the most. xD)

This costume is for members only and it is one of three items coming out for Monster Carnival Island. Also, it’s for a limited time only; it’s available until the end of early access for the island and then it’ll be gone! So go get it today!

The Creators recently posted about a fan called Perfect Sky making a video about Poptropica Labs, and whoever she is, she’s very lucky, seeing as it’s the first time the Creators have posted a fan video on their blog! I like some of her builds, they are really detailed! Check it out:

That’s it everyone, I just wanted to inform you about these two things, and look forward to a special post tomorrow from me!

Viewer's Showcase

Viewer’s Showcase: February 2014

(¯`·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.-> Hi Gs, <-.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.·´¯)

–How do you like my new intro? Tell me in the comments! And now back to the scheduled programming. 😛 —

We all have talent, but most of the time it doesn’t get the right recognition. Not anymore!

Art

I received a little piece of fan art by “StraBurri Cook”. I thought it was so cute (as well as good)!

Hputerpop

You have made my stinking day! That is the cutest thing evah! I’ll be changing my Gravatar to this dude for a while. 😀

Spotted Dragon also made an equally awesome pic of me. I’m proud to be creative! 😀

Another amazing artist in the community goes by the name Cool Berry, the Unicorn Cat. She makes fun little pieces that I think we can all enjoy! 😀

Stories

This month, origin stories seem to fit. Sticky Clown has written a little origin story of Dr. Hare, or Harvey Hare in the story. You can find it hosted on the PTFP.

The Return of Binary Bard is an ongoing story with unpredictable plot twists, and a hearty amount of script. Be sure to check it out, hosted on the PTFP.

Blog of the Month

I love to have a community of fellow artists, and Clean Shark is one of the artists who make it possible. Check out his fun blog, Poptropica Fun Blog, for frequent updates, and some quirky art. 😛  (It even has a fanfic of its own! 😉 )

Daily Pop, Monster Carnival Island

Carnival Crazy and more Daily Poppin’

With Monster Carnival Island set to be released sometime this month (can you believe it?!), the Creators wanted to remind us that the MCI wallpaper & poster are available on the Tour page – but of course you already knew that, right? What we really want are more sneak peeks

These are from the Daily Pop, and they look like they might belong in the carnival. But there are also some sneak peeks with not-so-certain origins… such as this snowy landscape* that looks like it’s part of the winter wonderland mentioned in Fuzzy-B’s post. One of the winter pics in his post contains a bird – perhaps related to these bird character sketches (pictured below)? And what of this wilderness survival book* – will we be going on another forest adventure anytime soon?

*a couple of these Daily Pops haven’t been released yet, but they will be – if you’re interested in how to discover Daily Pops a day or so early, check out our Behind the Scenes page! 🙂

Finally, here’s another reminder that we are looking to publish your Poptropica stories, island ideas, fan art, and more for the next issue of The Poptropican’s 911, coming out in March! Please email your entries to poptropican911(at)gmail.com (replace at with @), and refer to our Magazines page for more details. For inspiration, check out our most recent Pop magazine issue!

Daily Pop

Could these be Poptropica’s new Islands?

Hey everyone! I’m here today to not only share in the celebration over Monster Carnival Island (dream come true) but to look at the future of Poptropica. We had a pretty good idea that Monster Carnival was coming soon thanks to some pretty monstrous Daily Pops, which raises the question, what other secrets are hidden in those often overlooked little pictures? I have grouped some recent Daily Pops that may give us an idea of some upcoming islands!

Atmos-Knights Island

These previews almost look like they could be from an alternate version of Astro-Knights Island. The last two images even show very similar locations to some that were used in Astro-Knights! The images show a castle, an old broken down windmill, and someone’s study. It also appears that these images are high up in the air.

As you can see in the bottom of the first two images the land seems to be floating on clouds! The plane crashed into the windmill in the second image is very interesting also! It appears that this is a mixture between an atmosphere set Sky Island and Astro-Knights Island… Atmos-Knights Island!

Twisted Twice Island

Our next hypothetical island looks like it could be a sequel to Twisted Thicket Island. Twisted Twice Island! The first and second images show forest scenes that could easily be part of a Twisted Thicket sequel island. The first image even has a ghostly Poptropican, very similar to the forest dwellers in Twisted Thicket once their powerful orb is stolen. Could it be stolen again and we must find it?

The third picture has the most connection to Twisted Thicket showing an image of what looks like a journal. Inside this journal are drawings of what could be the weapons used by the forest creatures and at the bottom a drawing of the Tree where the forest’s orb is kept.

Winter Wonderland Island

Odds are that we won’t be seeing a Frozen Island, but these Daily Pops do look a little chilly! What could be happening here? Is there an eternal winter we must thaw? Do we need to find the Abominable Snowman? All we know right now is that there is a frozen mud puddle, a nice looking bird pecking at a tree, and there will be a nice moonlight night! Time will tell what this new island/feature will turn into!

What are your thoughts on these new sneak peeks? Is Poptropica making island sequels now? All we have to do now is enjoy Monster Carnival Island and wait for the next announcement! These are all hypothetical, but what do you guys think? Will we be seeing Atmos-Knights, Twisted Twice, or Winter Wonderland Island anytime soon?

Monster Carnival Island

The Monster Mystery Revealed

“Why was Monster Carnival taken off the map five years ago?”

This was still the question that boggled our minds… we tried to come up with a possible explanation, but some of them were kinda just silly assumptions. Now, in Captain Crawfish’s new post, he explains everything from the Creators’ point of view:

Longtime Poptropicans know that Monster Carnival was supposed to be one of our earliest Islands. It was announced in 2008, and even added to the travel map with a message that said “Coming Soon.” Then it disappeared without notice.

Why?

There have been a lot of explanations over the years. Some were closer to the mark than others. Frankly, we’d like to let the conspiracy theories go on, because they’re more interesting than the truth. But it’s time we came clean.

Monster Carnival was removed from the Poptropica travel map because it wasn’t finished, and everybody was too busy with other projects to give it the attention it needed. That’s all! We really just announced it too early, got onto other things, and never came back to it.

But as Monster Carnival continued to live on in the imaginations of our players, we couldn’t let it go. What a great name! Every year, when we discussed what new Islands to make, somebody would say “Monster Carnival!” and everyone else would nod. Then we’d pick a bunch of other Islands to do instead.

Maybe we were intimidated. We all know what happens when something becomes anticipated for too long. Better to leave it as an unrealized dream, rather than risk not delivering.

Well, every dog has his day, and the same is true of a great idea for a Poptropica Island. Monster Carnival is very real this time, and we hope it is worth the wait.

…wow…

After reading this, I couldn’t agree more, CC. I know how it feels to promise something good… but then life and other ideas happen and we let the idea collect dust. As a writer, I get that. A lot…. even before I joined the community, I hardly ever finished any story I wrote. And then my mind reminds me of it and I go, “Oh yeah.. I remember that…” That’s a problem for me even now…

Creators, if you feel that we pushed you too hard, I feel the need to say that I’m sorry. I hope that you guys are doing it because you guys want to do the island and not just because we requested it ten million times. Yes, we were curious, and we did enjoy the hints and jokes you gave us all these years gone by. Yet like I said before, I hope that you’re not just doing the island to shut us up. For that reason, I have high hopes for the Monster Carnival… hopefully it’s an island that you guys did put your heart into and not just one to pander to us.

…good luck you guys, and thank you.
