For Halloween, the Creators gave us a little trick treat – a spooky new Poptropica desktop wallpaper! You can click on it to enlarge the image. To use it from there, right-click and choose to save it as your desktop picture. 🙂
In other news, Green Boa resigned from the PHB today to focus on his future. We’ll miss your awesome posts, GB! 😦 If you’d like, you can say goodbye to him here.
First of all, that island everybody’s been talking about, Super Villain Island, is now available to the public! If you are stuck while exploring the dark minds of four of Poptropica’s most devious foes, feel free to use our Super Villain Island Guidehere.
In other news, the information page for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is now up! Here’s what the island description reads:
After years of silence, Willy Wonka’s magical chocolate factory is re-opening, and you’ve got a Golden Ticket. But when a group of misbehaving kids threaten to destroy Wonka’s candy creations, he needs you to save the day. Prepare to untangle a confectionary conundrum that’s full of sweet treats and sticky situations!
So… from the sounds of things, there are going to be SIX golden tickets instead of the usual five. Us, plus Charlie Bucket, Augustus Gloop, Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregard, and Mike Teevee. I’m eager to find out what will happen. But as of right now…
There’s no knowing where we’re going!
The desktop wallpaper and the printable poster gives us a very first look at the star of the show, Mr. Willy Wonka himself!
Holy hair cream, that’s a HUGE smile! o.o But hey, he’s Willy Wonka!

And here are a few more images from the information page…
On the info page, there are also links to buy the original book as well as the movie. The PHB also has a page where you can discuss this upcoming island here.
This is going to be fun! We do need a little light in Poptropica since the atmosphere of Super Villain Island’s release darkened it.
*in the launch area, the RP held on to the mouse too long and just flipped over the pole*
Random Person: Okay, maybe I can’t do this.
Epically failing at the weight-lifting?
*a random person plays the game, but has one of those touch-screen laptop mouses*
Random Person 2: X, X, X, X… curse this mouse!
Well, before we break those monitors, the Creators give us this friendly reminder about the fact that we don’t have to place first in every single event. As long as you’re good at the others. 😐
The good thing about the Poptropolis Games is that you don’t need to place first in every event in order to win the gold medallion. The winner of the Games is the one with the best overall performance, which means you can have a few clunkers and still come out on top.
It’s a good thing, too! Some of these events are tough. I laid an egg on the pole vault the last time I played.
Some of you may have already won the gold medallion, but has anybody out there placed first in every single event? That’s a feat we’d love to see!
Remember, Poptropolis Games is open to Members now. It will be available for everyone to play on June 14.
CAPTAIN CRAWFISH
Thanks to you, CC, you’ve saved so many monitors. I mean- the first time I did the island, I got second place, and it was kinda annoying. Moving right along, in celebration of Wimpy Wonderland Boardwalk, the Creators released the desktop wallpaper and the printable poster for the new summer Wimpy Kid island!
We’re making a splash to start the summer. Now, when you visit the Wimpy Boardwalk info page, you can download a new desktop wallpaper and printable poster!
Wimpy Boardwalk is coming soon to Poptropica. Keep reading our blog for the latest news!
SHARK BOY
In case you’re wondering, this is what the poster looks like:
Greg looks so different with color. But different’s good. Unless you’re being pelted by rocks instead of the usual tomatoes. In that case, stick with what you know.
Well, it’s the holiday season once again, and once again the Creators are about to settle in for a long winter’s nap. But before we go, we thought we’d bring back some seasonal wallpapers that we first introduced in this blog three years ago.
Click either of these images to load the full size, and then right-click and set as your desktop background.
Thanks to every Poptropican for making 2011 a great year. We’ve got even more in store for you in 2012.
Happy holidays, and a happy new year!
CAPTAIN CRAWFISH
I think the pics are cool, which one is your favourite?
I will be unable to post for most of january, as I am holidaying across Australia. 15 hours in the car… yaaaaaay… ;D
I hope everyone had a merry christmas, happy hanakua, felis navidad, or happy holidays or whatever you support.

Remember all those sneak peaks and updates on the Daily Pop? Something about “evilness” and all those strange “E” markings on those robots they let us in on the Daily Pop? Who could forget the awkward yet epic music trailer on all those creepy faces bobbing up and down? Well now we’re getting another goody! Now available as desktop wallpaper download!
This sounds to me like one of the most epic islands that’s about to come up! The picture looks all worn down and dirty/scratched on the sides. The words are “Don’t be good be E.Vile.” Oooooh. This is gonna be a good one 😉
Any new theories? I’m theorizing right now that it’s kind of a promotional campaign from some evil genius that brainwashes people to be mean and evil and stuff. And so it’s your job to defeat him or something. I mean, the poster shows a picture/dark figure with an electronic device. Could this be brainwashing?
These posters are available in two different sizes! Click/download the size based on your computer’s screen resolution.
