Hello Poptropicans! We’ve got a few fun Pop fan artists to spotlight, featuring goodies you can hold in your hands, plus more incredible artwork from the fandom community.
Lately, a couple more shops have joined in to add Poptropica fan-made merch to the market! One is a set of waterproof stickers of the “Big 4” classic villains by PollyCatArt, who currently sells other nerdy goodies but hopes to add more Pop-themed items soon. They’re currently on sale for Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
…And all of this is totally not said out of bias, because I’m PollyCatArt!
A few of these stickers have already been purchased, including by my fellow PHB writer Gentle Dolphin! Thanks for your support! ๐๐ฌ
Shameless self-promotion aside, another Pop-inspired artwork is also up for sale: the “Computer Game Wall Art” mini print by LenaDrawsArt, showing the old Poptropica map screen with a few classic islands! This would look great above a desk or workspace (especially if framed!) so you can always be reminded of the glory days.
Besides fan-made merch, we’d also like to spotlight some recent digital art pieces from the community!
First up is this gorgeous animation by MelonBobber-Pop on YouTube. This has a very smooth loop and does a great job at mimicking Survival Island’s background and environment designs!
Next is this beautifully stylized set of illustrations of Princess Elyana and other Astro-Knights characters by snoopypilots! Also featuring some doodles of the Binary Bard who is… wait, Hatsune Miku??

Hey Poptropicans! Welcome to another installment of Pop Fan Artist Spotlights. This feature is extra special because it’s not just art, but art you can buy and hold in your hands… it’s the first and currently only Poptropica fan-made merch store on the market! โจ
Alex/Kaitlyn from DizzyLeopardShop runs a very special online store (available on their website, Etsy, and TikTok) which offers colorful knickknacks like pins and keychains inspired by various franchises. Check out their super cool “Popflopita” goodies!
A few of us from the PHC have bought some of their stuff in the past few months and can attest to their quality and charm! HPuterpop snagged their Popflopita map shaker keychain (now out of stock), while Gentle Dolphin and I got the little Shark Boy pin, plus I added on the Mythology Island stickers as well. Very cute!
Over on their website, Dizzy Leopard drops some lore about their store, including, as you may have guessed, the Poptropica origin of their name. As for the shop, it began in the quarantine summer of 2020 and aims to bring joy through cute and nostalgic items. โก Have a browse!
Q&A with Dizzy Leopard
We reached out to Dizzy to hear more about their experiences with Poptropica and their shop. Hereโs what they shared!
What are your favorite Poptropica memories?
My favorite Poptropica memory is sitting in my mom’s office while she was away working and I would be on her computer playing Poptropica. She would come in after I was playing for maybe 20 minutes and yell at me saying, โDizzy, I know you’re playing that darn game again! The sale system only glitches like this when Adobe Flash is running.โ I would frantically deny this while trying to save any game progress before closing the window of evidence.
What are the highlights & challenges of running a small business?
The highlights are being able to make art every day and then see the positive impact it can have on so many people. The hardest part is probably constantly questioning yourself and feeling like you need to be doing something new and different to be better. It is challenging for sure, but you can also never improve if you don’t take that little voice to heart every once in a while.
By the way, if you have a Poptropica item you’ve been dreaming of, you can even send in requests for a chance to get them made! ๐
Besides DizzyLeopardShop, you can also get Poptropica merch through official channels such as Pop’s Zazzle shop. Check out our Poptropica Merchandise Guide for more deets about what’s out there! ๐คฉ
Howdy doodly, Poptropicanos and welcome to the latest installment of Pop Fan Artist Spotlight! This edition highlights an artist who’s become one of my recent favorites due to her exceptionally vivid and captivating artwork: the extraordinary *pause for dramatic effect*Magic Kid (who recently won 1st prize in our Halloween costume contest)!
Magic Kid’s Popsona
I really admire her enthusiastic commitment to creating Poptropica artwork, which has resulted in over one hundred deviations in her gallery to date. A swift glance through her collection will surely captivate anyone. Her signature aesthetic is characterized by its lively, bright, and almost glowy appearance. โจ You can easily feel the passion and joy she invests in each creation, showcasing her true creative spirit. Take a look at this gallery of some of her proudest works:
So pretty, right? ๐ I had a chat with Magic Kid and asked her a few questions about her art, and here’s what she shared with me:
How has your style changed over time?
Iโve had quite a bit of improvement over the years. Iโve become faster at making art, more comfortable with random colors that donโt make much sense, somewhat better at poses, and overall, just become a better artist in ways that are kinda hard to explain. Despite that, drawing hands is still a problem for me. XD
Where do you see yourself as an artist in 5 years?
Iโm not sure where I see my art in five years. Maybe Iโll have a consistent art style by then? Perhaps Iโll learn how to render or draw more realistically? Weโll have to see, I guessโฆ
Thanks for chatting, Magic Kid. Now there’s definitely more art from her to be discovered! Should you wish to explore her work beyond Poptropica, you can find more than 500 pieces on her DeviantArt pageโMagicKidIsArtsy. (Even the page presentation itself looks cool since she’s got core membership. ๐)
And now our spotlight has officially concluded! Thanks for stopping by. Interested in being the next Pop Fan Artist Spotlight? Reach out to me on Discord (search the.lucky.joker on the PHC) or send us an email. Hereโs to celebrating even more Poptropica artists!
Howdy, Poptropicanos and welcome to a special edition of Pop Fan Artist Spotlight, featuring the works of our very own Gentle Dolphin!
I initially became aware of Gentle’s art in 2018, making this showcase a long-anticipated one; she’s actually been making Pop fanart on a regular basis since 2017. To begin, I would like to share one of my all-time favorite Poptropica fan videosโthe iconic PHB parody of the “Who Broke It?” scene from Parks and Recreation. ๐คฃ
Gentle Dolphin is consistently cooking up remarkable Poptropica artwork. Whether she’s illustrating her original character, designing costumes, or developing material for our April Fool’s pranks(which she has done a lot of btw!) her art creations are both charming and refined. Her artistic style has become quite distinctive to me, although she has explored various techniques on a few occasions. Take a moment to admire this beautiful gallery featuring some of her proudest creations from over the years. (Click for the full glory and titles!)
Alright, I just couldn’t help myself… Here are a couple of my personal favorites in addition if you weren’t done looking at great art yet. ๐
“Smash! Crackle! POP! Fighters Banner”“Angie And Demi”
I asked Gentle Dolphin to share her main sources of inspiration when designing her captivating pieces. Here is her response:
My normal art style takes inspiration from a few things: MLP G4, Dork Diaries, and anime. My Poptropica style mixes my usual coloring with Poptropica Worlds’ anatomy. When coming up with ideas, I like bouncing off of friends and family. Staying motivated can be a challenge, especially when you’re dealing with burnout. When I have low motivation to work on a piece, I’ll either work on a different piece or take a short break from creating (I’ll have a snack, clean up, play a game, or chat with someone).
I can certainly identify with some of those feelings about motivation, and it’s quite intriguing to witness how different fandoms influence the artwork she creates. Furthermore, Gentle Dolphin graciously offered some guidance for fellow artists. The floor is yours, GD!
Practice by knowing what and how to improve, experiment with new techniques, take 10-minute breaks every hour or so, search for constructive feedback, and have fun!
That’s some sound advice. Thanks to her for sharing that with us!
GD is active across a variety of platforms, including Instagram, DeviantArt, Tumblr, X, and her own website. Check out any of her pages to familiarize yourself even more with her work and consider the possibility of commissioning her. Seriously, each time I come across one of her artworks, I find myself in awe. It was quite a fun process to compile all of them as it allowed me to appreciate a wide array simultaneously. ๐คฉ
It’s not just me though; even the creators of Poptropica have taken notice of GD’s impressive designs and stylish flair. In September 2021, her Pumpkin Punk costume design (pictured in the collage) won a contest and was added to the game the following month.
On top of that, former Poptropica creator Jonathan Pitcher (notice the banner on his LinkedIn & X profiles ๐), who we’ve highlighted and talked to before, mentioned that he once pitched the idea of creating an island inspired by her art style! Even though that idea didn’t come to fruition, it’s still an incredible recognition. ๐
On the topic of art and GD, I should highlight that she is currently hosting anart collaboration in celebration of Pop’s 17th birthday. Tomorrow is the final day for submitting your entry, so if you have not yet participated, I recommend that you do so as soon as possible. This is a party that you’ll certainly want to be a part of! (Edit: You have until the end of the 29th!)
And that’s a wrap! Do you have any favorite artists that we have yet to showcase on the blog? I encourage you to submit your suggestions in the comments section below. I hope you found this Pop Fan Artist Spotlight as enjoyable as I did. A big thank you for reading as always and I’ll talk to you again very soon, pop on! ๐
“Carnival” by XMzhier (Best Fan Art winner, Poppies 2022)
Howdy doodly, Poptropicanos! LJ here back with a Pop Fan Artist Spotlight, featuring the works of XMzhier on Tumblr (aka MN-XMPop on DeviantArt, or XM here for simplicity’s sake).
Okay, I have to confess that I first interviewed this artist for their spotlight almost three years ago (*slaps self*), but somehow overtime the draft got lost among my many unfinished projects. So, itโs safe to say that this has been a long time in the making. Let’s waste no more time to showcase and enjoy the sensational works of XMzhier!
“Veuve Noire Valentine” by XMzhier
XM shared with me that their top picks for Pop characters to create fanart for are the notorious Black Widow and Dr. Hare, and it’s easy to see why! These two wicked yet charming characters have sparked countless stunning artworks within the fandom over the years, and X’s renditions of the infamous two are no exception.
XM also mentioned that they find these two quite easy to draw since their features are naturally captivating to them. Talk about talent! Feast your eyes on this gallery of pieces that just might leave you inspired to create your own. (click on images to see them in their full glory)
If you’re eager to see more, take a look at their creations on DeviantArt (even though it’s obsolete now) and Tumblr (where they’re more active)! Just a heads up, you’ll actually need a Tumblr account to view their content.
That wraps up our spotlight this time! I hope you had a great time exploring a fellow Poptropica fan’s artwork. If you’ve created any Poptropica fan art yourself, we’d be thrilled if you shared it on our Discord server, the PHC. While you’re here, be sure to take a look at all the other talented artists we’ve highlighted on the PHB. I promise it’s definitely worth it!
Thanks for reading as always and I hope to talk to you again soon. Pop on!๐
