Video for Poptropica’s first video game, Poptropica Adventures (DS)!

We already have information about the upcoming Poptropica Nintendo DS game – see posts here and here. It’s called Poptropica Adventures, and now there’s a page on the Poptropica website for it! (Thanks, Fuzzy Bubble.) You can see it here.

(Warning: Cheesy female voice speaks in this ad/trailer video.)

Among the information on the page are: the trailer video (see above), pictures, description, where to buy, Poptropica wish list, E for Everyone rating, a quote from Jeff Kinney…

“We’re excited to bring the world of Poptropica to the Nintendo DS. We’ve picked three of our most popular Islands and given them a twist with exciting new challenges and storylines. We think kids will have fun exploring our world in an experience only the Nintendo DS can deliver!”

…and not only is all this available starting November 6th, but when you buy this, it comes with a redeemable code that gives you two free costumes! One is a lightning-studded warrior, and the other is a surfer, dressed in purple and with snake hair.

Get ready to explore Poptropica’s most popular islands – Super Power, Astro-Knights, and Mythology – like never before. 🙂

Arrr you going to save the kingdom with your pencil? Four new books for the adventurous Poptropica reader!

Poptropica’s been hard at work, and 4 new books are expected to be released on November 8th, 2012. Of course… not to brag or anything… but the PHB had already been posting about it months before! (see here, here, or here) Anyway, now we’ve got some blurbs for the books, and you can click on the title to check it out on Amazon. 😛

Skullduggery Island: In this 160-page illustrated novel, a cruel pirate named Captain Crawfish has been raiding the small port of Fort Ridley. Our hero must embark on a journey to find a powerful ship and skilled crew to help him defeat Captain Crawfish and recover a map that will lead the islanders of Fort Ridley back to their treasure.

Astro-Knights Island: In this 160-page illustrated novel, the princess of the Kingdom of Arturus has been kidnapped by an evil inventor named Mordred who has taken her off into space. Our hero now must learn to build his own space craft and travel to the stars on an intergalactic quest to rescue the princess and save the kingdom of Arturus.

Pencil Warrior: Something sinister is erasing its way across Poptropica, and the only way to stop it is by re-drawing all the islands and re-creating the world before this new threat can erase every trace. This 64-page full-color doodle book is perfect for fans of Poptropica and anyone who loves to draw.

Poptropica Mad Libs: Poptropica Mad Libs features 21 hilarious and action-packed stories based on games and missions from the website. Fans of the site will love to bring the adventure to life by filling in the blanks of our brand new Mad Libs!

This makes 5 books, in addition to the first Poptropica book, Poptropica: The Official Guide, which was released last year. Do you own a copy of the guidebook? Which one of these new books do you plan to add to your bookshelf? 😀

Super Villain Island resources, a new PHB slogan, and possibly other gaming devices!

The PHB’s written walkthrough for Super Villain Island (with pictures) is now available! Thanks goes to Samwow5 and Cool Bite for their help. You can access it quickly by clicking on the Super Villain Island icon in the sidebar.

We also have a video playlist for SV Island on our YouTube channel, and links to more resources such as a map on our discussion page. The island comes out for everyone on October 18 – only three weeks away. 🙂

In honor of Super Villain Island, the PHB has a new header… with a new slogan! “Poptropica Help Blog: We put the POP in Poptropica.” It’s got a ring to it. 😀 And, if anyone’s wondering, the “POP” is that explosion of excitement you get when you visit the PHB. Yes, don’t deny it. 😉

Wondering how Brave Flame and Young Clown from the top 10 finishers of the new island got those robes? Finishing the members-only bonus quest grants you a reward – in this case, the Dream Guardian costume!

Oh, and remember the DS game Poptropica’s going to be releasing? PHB reader Samwow5 found an article about it in French, and when translated, it mentions that besides the Nintendo DS, they might be considering “other portable gaming devices.” Hmm…

Keep Calm & Ad Lib

More big news has emerged regarding the new Poptropica books that Muddy Axe recently uncovered! For previous posts about the books, click here or here.

The Poptropica Mad Libs book now has a cover! You can also see it on Amazon.

Pencil Warrior‘s cover image is now on Amazon, which features the same villain from this PCB sneak peek last month, only instead of Skullduggery, the cover has a medallion saying “Time Twisted” (Time Tangled’s name before it was released).

The upcoming book Pencil Warrior appears to be a coloring book, but this 2007 article from FableVision seems to describe what we know of the plot as well. Strange that it’s only brought up now.

The new FableVision island merges Poptropica’s exploratory game play with a storyline that promotes creative expression. Under Reynolds’ creative direction, the game’s story features a virtual artist colony where a disgruntled inventor is removing all color and creativity from the island and kids come to the rescue to reverse the colorless chaos.

These books are set to release in November, so look forward to that! 🙂
