Fanfic: Seven Systems 🪐 Part 4: The Storm Caller

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by HeartOfEnder. Enjoy!

Welcome back to Seven Systems! Apologies, it’s been a while. Let’s do a quick recap of Part 3:

The queen’s knights are patrolling Astro-Knights Island, where the Baron is rumored to be. Tempest awakens a mysterious dragon form while defending the citizens from the queen’s knights… and that’s where we left off. Let’s get back into it! (Or start from the beginning here.)

THE SEVEN SYSTEMS
Part Four: The Storm Caller
(Continued from Part 3)

TEMPEST, in her new dragon form, immediately leaps into action. She swats a knight that was behind her with one swish of her tail, before leaping into the air and landing on top of the fountain, sharp claws gripped onto the stone.

TEMPEST:

Hear me, knights! You do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, touch the people of this kingdom! You can’t just bring innocent people into a battle they know nothing about, and I will now punish you for it!

TEMPEST jumps off the fountain, landing on the ground and sending a lightning shockwave across the ground, knocking nearby guards off their feet. She immediately leaps back into the air, levitating across the ground as if the air was water.

Despite this threat, the knights try to fight back. But they stand no chance against a massive lightning breath from TEMPEST, which also scorches the nearby grass.

TEMPEST continues to gracefully fight the knights, alternating between leaping across the ground and floating in the air. The knights fall one by one, until only a few are left.

They try to flee, but TEMPEST has something prepared for them, flying into the sky as it begins to darken and rain…

TEMPEST:

You cannot escape a storm.

She roars, her eyes glowing pure white. As she roars, lighting falls from the sky, striking the remaining knights, leaving none to tell the tale.

The sky becomes clear again, and TEMPEST lands on the ground again, transforming into her human form. She yawns.

TEMPEST:

Well that took out all my recent anger towards people who interrupt you while you speak. I feel good again—

She notices AMELIA staring at her in surprise, jaw wide open.

TEMPEST:

…what?

AMELIA:

Tempest… you never told me you could turn into a DRAGON?! A DRAGON?! That’s so cool! Why didn’t you tell me?! We could’ve stopped the Red Queen, day one, by summoning an entire storm above Home Island—

TEMPEST:

Yeah, I don’t do it anymore. Complicated reasons.

AMELIA stops talking.

TEMPEST:

So? Where is the Baron? We got nothing out of that fight except the fact that they have been seen on this island.

She notices the fountain, half damaged from the battle. Specifically, underneath the fountain, she sees a hole that was created by one of TEMPEST’s attacks. It reveals one thing… the inside of the fountain is hollow.

RUMPEL:

Oooh hidden room! I love secret bases!

He transforms into a shadow, entering the hollow space under the fountain.

TEMPEST sighs, before following RUMPEL through, with AMELIA following closely behind.

Under the fountain, it’s dark, but there are signs of activity inside. As they descend deeper, the surrounding area becomes darker and darker…

AMELIA:

Can you still use your powers in your human form?

TEMPEST:

Hmm… let me see…

She holds out her hand, sending a surge of lightning that bounces around the room, illuminating the massive room they now find themselves in. As the darkness dispels, they find out what is hidden under the fountain…

Poptropicans of various backgrounds and cultures are gathered in this large underground room, discussing and sharing ideas. Some are training others how to use swords, some are strategizing, some are reporting and noting down black knight activity… but among the many Poptropicans is THE BARON.

Yes. THE BARON, who had been missing for so long.

 BARON:

…Oh, it’s you.

AMELIA rushes forward, followed by RUMPEL, who has reappeared from his shadow form, and TEMPEST.

AMELIA:

(yelling) WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! We’ve been looking all over for you! Okay correction, we only started looking for you like a few weeks ago, but STILL!

THE BARON remains calm.

BARON:

Starting a resistance against my own mom.

TEMPEST:

Wait what?

BARON:

That’s what this is. All these Poptropicans are here because they know how evil my mom is, and they want to end her reign over the Seven Systems. I’m simply leading them. After all, no one suspects a princess to be leading a resistance against her own mom.

They turn around to face a massive board of battle tactics.

BARON:

We haven’t been able to make much progress ever since the knights came here, but we’re close to launching our massive attack. We already have a rocket to the Seven Systems located and have a plan to distract the knights, but the only problem we have is, who’s actually going to face off against the queen? Out of all these Poptropicans, who?

AMELIA points to TEMPEST.

AMELIA:

She can turn into a dragon.

THE BARON completely ignores her.

BARON:

But now that you’re here, that problem is no more. We can finally put the plan into action. While the resistance distracts the knights, us four will board the rocket and take off into the Seven Systems.

THE BARON turns to face the trio.

BARON:

So? You in?

AMELIA:

Obviously!

RUMPEL:

A chance to mess with the queen again? Oh count me in! I can’t wait to see her face when she realizes she can’t do anything to imprison me!

TEMPEST remains silent for a few seconds, before she hesitantly answers.

TEMPEST:

I’m in. Let’s do this.

  1. AMAZING POST ONCE MORE! At this point I should say it’s a really good story. I even tried drawing TEMPEST on my sketchbook (which, I will mention, is not as good as yours) and even used her for a few stories for kids! I admire how you’re making a fanfic out of a poptropican theory and so far it’s scoring high! Keep those posts coming, I’m dying to see more of what happens next 🙂

What's popping, Poptropicans?
