Boo, Poptropicans! Halloween is approaching, and that means… it’s time for another Halloween costume competition here on the PHB! This will be our 7th year in a row, but we’re adding a special twist: with the recent Photo Booth added to Poptropica’s Home Island, you can enter a picture creation for a chance to win a membership from the PHB! Sound spooktacular?

Part I: Costume Competition

Traditionally, Poptropicans submit their best Poptropica Halloween costumes in the comments section by giving an Avatar Studio link and/or posting their username. Keep in mind the following tips:

  • Be original! Mix and match to create your own unique costume(s).
  • There are some great Halloween costume parts at the ghoul gathering from the end of the Haunted House quest from the Store, as well as the collection of free costumes in the Store, but be creative and search in other places too!
  • Keep your costume intact until after the winners are announced, or we may not see it! If you don’t want to keep the costume on your main account, create a new one and post that instead.
  • To post your entry, go to the Avatar Studio, type in your username, click Load, click on the Link to highlight it, right-click and choose Copy, go to the comments section on this post, right-click and choose Paste, type in your comment and submit so we can view your costume by clicking the link! Name your costume and post the username if you want.

PRIZES: On Halloween (October 31st), we’ll make a post featuring the winning costumes, plus they will also be immortalized on the PHB’s Costumes page, where you can also see examples of past winners. We’ll have 10 winners for the costume portion, but wait, there’s more…

Part II: Photo Booth Competition

This year, to celebrate our recent milestone of 20 million views here on the PHB, we’re adding a new portion to the competition: the Photo Booth, where we’ll pick another 10 winners for a total of 20!

If you haven’t checked out the Photo Booth on Home Island yet, now’s the time! Poptropica recently added lots of Halloween props to the feature, and you can check out the PHB’s Photo Booth guide here. The objective of this competition is to create the best Halloween picture with your character in it using the Photo Booth, which means you’ll need a snazzy Halloween costume on (see part I)!

For anyone entering this part of the competition, you’ll also need to complete Part I and share a link to your Poptropican to prove that you own the character you use in your Photo Booth pic. This part is optional, but like the first part, we’ll be selecting 10 winners, and the PRIZES get better…

  • First place: 6-month membership
  • Second and third place: 3-month membership
  • 4th to 10th place: 1-month membership

That’s right, you can enter for a chance to win a membership paid for by the PHB!

Important: If you are selected to win one, you must be comfortable in privately contacting us with your login credentials (username and password) so that the membership may be awarded. If you have a currently active membership and are selected, keep in touch with us about when it expires and we will work something out (or, you can donate your membership prize to an honorable mention entrant). 🙂

How to enter:

  1. Create your picture with the Photo Booth on Home Island, being sure to include your character wearing a spooktacular Halloween costume somewhere in it.
  2. Press the green checkmark button to save the image to your computer.
  3. Upload the image somewhere on the web (for example, tinypic) that will give the image a URL.
  4. Copy and paste the image URL into the comments section along with the instructions from part I (Avatar Studio link of your costume and/or username). This will allow us to see the image online.

Note: For both competitions, you can submit as many entries as you like, but you can only win a maximum of one time. Have fun! You have until Halloween.

    Her name was Ella. When it was her 16th birthday,
    Her father died, because he was defeated by The
    King of Dark Elves, Her father was The Protector
    of the Elves. So, Ella wants to make him proud
    of him, She loved him so much. So, She decided
    to train to become The Guardian of the Elves.

  31. hello i name this costume vampire pharaoh who wears sunglasses cause my character is a vampire pharaoh and since pharaohs are kinda like kings that means i am technically a vampire king but i also hunt other vampires you know get rid of the competion and i use my awesome black sword which matches with my awesome vampire hunter glasses which i use to keep the sun away cause i am a king the sun doesnt affect me but cause in the dessert the sun is always shining so i need to keep sun away from my eyes for that and i am also a pirate who has magical powers and i have monsters as servants and i can make myself invisible and on land i am known vampire hunter fenix and on sea i am known as redberad the pirate with blackskin and in the sky i am knowk as batpharaoh duh duhduh but around the world i am known as a mystery calledvampire pharaoh who wears sunglasses

    i have been a loyal pop fro so long. i’m always trying to make sure i’m up to date with all the info, and i currently ahve compleated all of the islands! except the mini mission, cause you need membership

    anyway, i wanted to make this antry an homage to the sooky halloween mission. my character is wearing bits and pieces from most of the origional spooky characters, but looking cool and modern at the same time

    my photo booth pic isalso a homage to the mission. basically, everyone is partying out outside the house, and it’s all good….or is it? (the grim reaper behind my character XD)

    anyway, i know it probably isn’t the coolest, but i hope you like it.

    slantedfish: Regardless of whether it’s for the contest or not, simply copying an image from your computer without giving it an actual web link is not going to work for sharing images online.

It doesn’t show in the picture but I am transparent so I look like a ghost. Is there any easier way to complete Skull duggery island?   59. Slanted fish?I’m making a Davy jones costume and I want to get the Poseidon mustache but I can’t get it!!! I try glitches on YouTube but when I do it the computer freezes! Is there any usernames that I can use on the avatar studio glitch that dont have eye related glitches because I don’t know how to remove it.

    slantedfish: I don’t know, but you could save the mustache in your closet, then randomize (Ctrl + Shift + R) to fix your eyes, and go back and customize your mustache from your closet.

    These two are almost sort of alter egos, total contrasts but with similar silhouettes.

    We wanted to create something very girlish, something that a little girl would play with. The pink, the frills, and the mismatched accessories (we have a blue necklace, a white and pink belt, gold earrings, and a yellow purse, for example) add to the childlike image, something that a child has accessorized. The small, painted red lips, heavy blush, angelic blond hair, and pale skin add to the image of a perfect porcelain doll.

    This is someone terrifying who you really, really don’t want to see at night! We preserved the basic silhouette from Doll, but with stark differences. Instead of the pale blond locks, she has wild and unkempt pitch black hair with choppy ends. Rather than a pretty purse. Psycho carries a sinister curved blade. Psycho is the total opposite of Doll!

    At first sight, it seems a little plain, but once you delve into the details, it becomes far more interesting! We have innocent, angelic Doll posing on the hill near the romantic bridge lit by starlight and the enormous full moon under the majestic indigo sky, while Psycho, furious and terrifying, lurks by the dark and dangerous cemetery, ominously swinging her blade.

    1. If you want to embed the image in the comment, you just need to put the link to the image (should end with file type, such as .png or .jpg) in one line in your comment without any extra added characters (such as the ? you’ve been adding on).

      Otherwise, we can still see the URL and click on it to view the pic, which is fine. But if you’re trying to show the pic within the comment, leave the URL on one line with no extra characters. Anyway, I’ve fixed your comment for you.
