In celebration of this Poptropica Help Blog recently reaching 8 million hits (thanks everyone!), we’re going to do something fun! In the comments section, ANYONE is welcome to join in as we weave an ongoing story, a Poptropica fan-fiction of sorts, told in second-person narrative. It begins here…
“Um, hello. I’m here to register for something called, uh, ‘Poptropica’?” Amidst the realm of blue vines in front of you, a crate, small and wooden, bounces out, shaking blue dust and spitting out a question of your gender. You stare incredulously before you finally manage to respond. “I’m a boy,” you tell the little box, and then it erupts a circle of numbers in individual bubbles as it asks you the next question. This is a very strange sign-up process, you think to yourself, as you decide to tell the box etched with a curious question mark that you are 9 years old.
“Your name is Jumpy Jumper. When you are ready, hop into the blimp and travel to any island.” You ponder the map for a while, but decide none of the islands suit you. “There’s got to be something better…” you mutter to yourself. Just then, you see it. Out of the corner of your eye, there’s another island, shrouded in mystery by layers of smog and unidentifiable smells. Island X.
“But no one’s ever been there before,” the voice warns, the voice of the box that had guided your creation earlier. “Jumpy Jumper, JJ, you can’t… how did that even get on the map anyway? It’s not safe… please no… JJ!!” But it’s too late. You’re gone.
What happens next? Will JJ survive the unknown dangers of the mysterious Island X? What is the island’s secret, its true name, the people, the villain(s), the setting? You and your fellow PHB readers get to decide what items he collects and uses, other places he visits, and the adventures that await…

“So mind telling me about what the heck is going on?” The girl asks.
“It’s kind of a long story” You say.
“I have time” She says smiling.
You and Super then explain everything that has happened starting from the beginning to the vary end.
“You see,JJ,Mordred was reporting information from Arthurus to other kingdoms. There was more than one reason he was imprisoned,see.”,she says after you and Super explain everything to her. Unfortunately,all this took a week to just quickly summarize. You still can’t help but notice the PHB staring at you in the corner like an interesting specimen. “Well,you say,I suppose we need to find him now.Where is he?” “I heard he recently got accepted into the monster carnival.” “WHAT?!” You run to the blimp and go there.
You notice Island X has changed. “Oh,yeah,JJ”,Super says,”the island got released a while back.” You run to the right,only to notice that the carnival is moving. You see someone in a 7th birthday costume,wearing glasses ,holding a hammer and having a broom on his back,waving to the carnies.
“Sticky?!What are you doing here?!” “Oh,hello,JJ. Look what I got!” He proudly displays a medal. “You finished Monster Carnival?!” “Yep.” “Lovely. Say,have you seen Mordred around here?” “Nope.” “Oh.Well,guess your rumours were incorrect,Super.” You go to back,but when you get there,your blimp is broken. And standing right next to them are Igor the wereram ,necromancer and vampire apprentice,Brave Bubbles,your best friend,and Shark Boy.

All of these …er….friends,of yours,suddenly vanish,and the blimp seems to be back in shape.You realize that you’re having hallucinations,and that you need to eat.You go to a diner,and eat.
You all go back to the blimp,but it has run out of gas. “What do we do now?” “Don’t worry,I think there’s a blimp emporium around here.” She takes you there. Suddenly,a salesman in a plaid coat jumps out of nowhere. “Howdy!”,he exclaims annoyingly.”My name is Bill,of ‘Bill’s Used Blimps!”
“Used blimps?”,the girl asks. “Of course! And you know why I’m so popular?” “Because you’re the only blimp salesman in a 18 island radius?” “Well,yes. But it’s also because of my amazing range of blimps! I’ve got something for everybody! So,what kind of blimp do you want to see?” “Something which isn’t too big or fancy,but something which isn’t cramped.” “What luck! I think that’s the cheapest blimp here!” “Come this way,please.”
The blimp he takes you to seems suitable enough. After some irritating hours of continuously haggling for it,you finally get Bill to sell it to you. You jump in the blimp after he tells you how to treat it and such,and ,after a sigh of relief,you go to…
(Also,yes,I’m back.And I have plans for Bill…a few more roles,even more annoying than this one.Sure,he didn’t seem irritating,but the blimp he sold was originally at the price of 1950 credits.
There was a reason I skipped the haggling part,you know. JJ had to decline a few extras.By the time he was done taking it to a reasonable price (375 credits),it didn’t even look like a blimp anymore.So yes,watch out for him in the future…)

Before you take off Super comes into the blimp with a mysterious journal.
After that you two go to ghost story island.
You two go to the graveyard.
Super opens up the book and it is in the chosen one language!
You translate it.
“Zombie come and zombies go rise from your rest?!” You translate confused.
Suddenly the ground starts shaking and zombies rise from the ground!
“Ahhhhhh! Brains!” The zombies shout.
“Run!” You shout.
You fight off the zombies with your weapon,and after a few hours,you finally kill all of them.You breathe. “Say,I never got your name”,Super tells the girl. “Oh,my name?It’s very common.” “Red Lizard?” “Nope.” “Orange Orange?” “No.” “Icy ?” “Nah.” “Undefined Undefined?” “Not exactly.” “Poptropican?” “Not even close.” “Maroon Rider-” ”
What is your name,anyway?”,you intervene. “My name?Why,it’s-” Suddenly,she tears her clothes.She is actually someone in a disguise!She’s having a black hairdo,a belt,a nice tie-all of it with a spider on it. “Black Widow!” You suddenly black out. When you wake up you’re in…Nabooti?
(Wait, the girl that JJ and Super saved from BB? Her name (or at least her alias) was Crystal Wolf)
You slowly get up.For some reason,no one is one the streets.It is night time. Suddenly you see E.Vile talking to someone.He hands this someone a….fork?! And they leave.Or at least one of them does. E.Vile sees you. “Ah,there you are,JJ.” “Why did you hand someone a fork?” His expression changes. “I see. You will die,now,Jumpy.” “But-why-?” Suddenly,you are punched into the air.
You land on the Poptropicon centre. E.Vile suddenly is there as well.He punches you again,into the clouds of Early Poptropica,and then punches you all the way to Spy. For some reason,you land in a blimp. Then you realise the horrible truth.Why,you can even see his plaid coat from here. “Hey there,sonny”,Bill says.”How’s the blimp? You see,I have five other guys who are interested in it,and-”
Suddenly,E.Vile appears. “Howdy,son!”,Bill says.He walks over to him,not surprised that he appeared out of thin air. “I’m Bill,of Bill’s Previously Owned Blimps Emporium ,and I’ll stand on my head to make you a deal!”
“Blimps,eh?”,E.Vile says,suddenly interested. “Of course! And you look like a great costumer! A man who knows a good bargain when he sees it!” E.Vile smiles. “Why,yes,I am.And what do you have for sale?” “You look like a man who appreciates quality! Come,let me show you my finest blimp!Walk this way,please.”
While E.Vile is distracted by Bill,you suddenly see…the ultimate weapon ™. Hurry,JJ.There isn’t much time. ,it whispers.
(No one is asking how JJ lost it in the first place….)
You slowly tiptoe out of the blimp and to the docks.As luck would have it, the Ultimate Weapon ™ is out of reach,on top of the shop. You slowly walk around,looking for something to get up there. “Now,”Bill says,”This blimp is fit for a king!” You suddenly find a stepladder. You slowly take it to the front of the shop-“I mean,we’re talking TWELVE staterooms,each with a fireplace in it-”
You slowly place the stepladder-“We’re talking rotating ballroom-” You slowly extend it- “We’re talking robotic navigators-” You start to walk up it-“We’re talking installed Destructomatic-9001 cannons-with similar features,but also with focus,radar,GPS,an antenna,and even a joystick (I don’t know what it does,but I bet you it’s good)-”
You’re almost there- “Very well,how much is it?” “How much you’ve got?” “400K Credits.” “Son,if that blimp could hear you,she’d smack you in the face! It’s not even worth double of that!” “Then how much is it?” “A googol.” “Which is?” “One followed by a hundred zeroes. Didn’t you learn any math at school? Geeze,you’re annoying! But,hey! So am I,right?” You get the Ultimate Weapon ™ !
You then hear a punch which almost breaks the sound barrier and a splash. You smile as you see a plaid jacket floating in the sea. “Now,JJ,you will be killed,and sacrificed in an unholy ceremony-” “Unholy THIS!”,you say,and drive the weapon into him. There is a flash of light,and there is nothing left of E.Vile. All you can hear is Bill shouting,”Help! I can’t swim!”
(So,I presume it’s just me again? *sigh* Well,I did start this story long ago,so I suppose it will be fitting for me to continue,or perhaps,end the story(yes,I know it’s ongoing).)

Super comes swinging in on a vine with the black widow knocked out in her hands.
“Super you okay?” You ask.
“I woke up in a shack not too far from here and knocked Black Widow out when she wasn’t looking, so yeah I’m fine, JJ I’ve been writing my own adventures” Super replies showing you her book titled: The Adventures of Super Grape.
“I’m going to go see if I can get it published want to come with me?” She asks.

A few months of random villains, battles, and story alterations, you suddenly get a splitting headache. Despite your friends trying to communicate with you, you fall into a coma-like stupor.
You see white. Nothing but white. An entirely white dimension
It’s really white.
And suddenly, you hear a voice.
“What you think you know, what you think is real, whatever you fight whoever you love – all is distorted, and distorted is all. When you fight more great battles, things will begin to become clear. The truth will be shown, and you will see another reality. Your timeline, storyline, and reality flip at a whim. What is truth one day turns out to be a lie the next. Be very careful. For when you see white again, the Distortion shall be wiped…prepare to meet an Unknown Hero.”
The strange, cryptic voice fades, and everything fades to black.

You help Super publish her adventures under PopTop Press. It took a lot of squablling (and a little motivation, courtesy of your Ultimate Weapon), but it was finally a real book.
The day that it came out, not one person bought it. Passerby taking a look left with an expression of disgust. Super felt miserable. You try to cheer her up. “Hey, Super, it’ll be alright. It’s just the first day.”
Super moaned, “But Young Flame released one of HER books, and she sold a THOUSAND on opening day! Mine is terrible.”
You soothingly reply, “No, it isn’t. You are a great writer. I know it. Give it some time and I bet you’ll even outsell Young Flame. Come on, let’s relax. I’ll buy you lunch, whatever you want!”
This seems to calm Super down. “…Fine. But I hope you have a thick wallet. I’m getting a deluxe pizza with all the fixings, and I mean ALL of them–”
Suddenly, overhead, a random dragon flies over the pizza parlor and torches it to the ground.
“UGH!?”, you groan. “There’s always SOMEONE in danger. We’ll find another pizza place, just let me slay this thing.” You run off to destroy the beast, and Super trails behind.

Monster Carnival! You take a newspaper. It says they’re building an antique shop where Papa Pete’s used to be.
(Maybe I shoulda been clearer. My addition to my original post goes before the blackout – with the weird vision – and in addition, the blackout takes place months after JJ slays the dragon (a cakewalk, of course), while he does other random things and other little quests. THEN he has the blackout.
I guess he could have randomly fainted between your post and mine….

You wake up,startled. You suddenly overhear something. You listen closely,and it appears that a few crooks are planning to rob the antique shop!You decide to stop them,but,then,so black out. There,you dream of a boy. That boy is familiar to you.A mysterious figure tosses him a silver weapon. “This,BB,is the penultimate weapon. Take care of it.” You wake up again,startled.
The boy in your dreams was non other than your best friend,Big Bubbles.

You stop the robbers from robbing the antique store with your weapon after that.
Later that day you see yourself on the newspaper.
You also see Super in it.
The article told how she was interviewed by a few reporters about her book and her statement was “Well ever since I meant JJ things have been kind of crazy but I am his sister after all he’s the only family I got”.
You couldn’t help but smile.
You decide to go see how Strange was doing.

While on the way to Strange-er,Sticky’s shop,you notice a corpse on the ground. You suddenly realize that the corpse is- “Clean!”,Super shrieks. You check his heart.He isn’t breathing.A few hours later,a funeral is arranged for Clean. The doctors say that he was poisoned.
You swear under your breath that you will avenge him. Strange,Fearless Shark, Hopper, Fishy, Friendly Turtle,and Young Flame among others are invited. You decide to get a tombstone and a coffin for him. You go into a coffin shop. “Howdy!”,you hear an all too familiar voice.
“Welcome to Bill’s Previously Owned Coffins!” The annoying salesman,instead of a plaid jacket,is wearing a loud Hawaiian T-shirt. “Didn’t you used to be a blimp salesman?” “Well,yeah. But I decided to go into a business where costumers were less likely to come back and complain if unsatisfied! ” “You do have a point.” “Anyway,our motto is ‘We handle the dead for a lot less bread’. We have a wide assortment of businesses relating with the deceased.”
“Do you do funerals?” “Of course! But not those sorrowful ones. We do it in a wild,fun Mardi-Gras style! I like to say we put the FUN in…er,FUNerals. Heh heh.” After some more haggling,you get a coffin and arrange for Clean Shark’s ‘funeral’. But when you leave,Hopper bumps into you.

It was hard at first but you tell him what happened to Clean and he started crying.
“Who could have done this?!” Hopper asks crying.
A police officer came and told you they had a list of suspects for who could have possibly poisoned Clean.
He gives you the list.
Suspect List:
1: Black Widow
2: Binary Brad
3: Dr.Hare
4: E.Vile
“Don’t worry Hopper after the funuel me you and Super will go see if we can find out who did this” You tell him after looking at the list.

A few hours later,you get a note from Hopper.
Found out something important. Get someone into Clean’s coffin and put it in the funeral.
-Hopper.
You enter the coffin shop. “How do I know that the coffin I bought is spacey enough?” “Well,let me show you!”,Bill says. He leaps into the coffin. “Now,see,this is a deluxe model.Look how freely I can wriggle my toes.” You close it and nail the coffin. “I hear you knocking up there! That’s solid oak you’re hearing! Hey,I can’t get out! I think the lid’s stuck!”
Suddenly,someone comes and takes the coffin away. You notice that Bill dropped his hanky. You pick it up. The funeral proceeds as usual. The coffin is taken away to a crypt on some faraway island. You approach Hopper. “So,what was that note all about?”

“Well I examined Clean’s body and discovered that the person who poisoned him left a poetical clue they left three letters on his belly in ink” Hopper explains.
“What did it say?” You ask.
“MFM” He replied.
“MFM? What could that stand for?” You ask.
“I think I know” Super says coming over with a passport in her hand.
“Pack your bags because were going to an island in the idea stage” Super said.
“Why?” You ask.
“It stand for Monsters Fight And Magic” Super explains.

In the island,a graveyard is there. A tapping sound is heard through a crypt. The Zombie King stands in the middle of the cemetary,waiting. at last,Grim Reaper comes. “Is he here?” “He is.” “Good.The dead want him.Now.”

You look around there was a swamp, a cemetery and what looked to be a witches cottage.
You go over to the cottage because there was a name on it that looked familiar.
The sign read: Marline’s cottage.
Marline! So this is where she came from! You think.
You decide to go inside and explore the cottage.

(No,Merlin is the mechanical owl. MORDRED is the Binary Bard. Marline was a witch who cursed Big Hero years ago. She appears in the survival island. By resisting her,JJ gets the Heroism Aura,which protects him from things like poison,fire,freezing and mind control.)

You look around her cottage,but only manage to salvage three things-a letter,a package,and an onion. The first two are enchanted so that you can’t open them,and the onion is useless.
Meanwhile,back on the shore,Super is dreaming. It seems to be….Astro Knights? A mysterious figure is roaming on the streets. Suddenly,someone leaps out. The figure gives him a letter and hides. Suddenly,a guard appears. “Who art thou?” The figure runs away to the old windmill. He jumps into a tunnel and closes the door. The guard tries to open it,but to no avail. He suddenly has an idea,and puts a hay bale on the opening. “That’ll keep thee!” As he leaves,a voice comes out of the tunnel. “Well,Merlin,I guess we’re done for now.”
Mordred.
Super wakes up.Meanwhile…

You see toads leaping form lily pad to lily pad.
But then you spy something glowing in the water and you pick it up.
It was a gem and attached to it was a note it read: Touch and see your fate!
You shrug and touch the gem and you see a vision!
In the vision you see……

You see a vision of Red Ice and her friends riding on Justin towards a figure….is it Astrobot?Suddenly,the ground breaks beneath you and you fall…..deeper,and deeper….suddenly,somethings levitates you slowly to the ground. “Jumpy Jumper,it has been a long time.” You see a fortune teller. “Do I know you?” “Ah,we often forget who help us most. But,here is a vision.”
‘meanwhile you are recused by a fortune teller.“You must be JJ” The fortune teller says.“How do you know who I am?” You say.“I’m a fortune teller I know all” The fortune teller says.“Oh well in that case can you tell me what will happen in the future?” You say.So you go to the Fortune Teller’s place.She takes out a crystal ball and looks into it.
“I see…horrible things.A minor villain is there.He is tired of being minor.So he does many bad things and puts blame on others. There is a commotion between certain tribes. And…and…AHH!” She suddenly faints!You wake her up.”I can see no more,child.”,she says.So you leave to the Tribe Council.’
“Oh yeah,now I remember!” “Good.” “So….why did you bring me here?” “I have a few things in store for you,JJ.Here.” She gives you a knife. “Slice the onions and the letter and package from Marline’s will open. And here is the casket from your survival island. To open it,you will find out…soon.” “Okay?Anything else? Can you tell me my future?” “Ah,of course,JJ.”
After looking into the crystal ball,she says,”You will go on a journey to find your friend. During that journey,many of your enemies will die…..at a cost. Beware of what you will learn about your world. It will…terrify you.” “Okay?”
“One last thing. Take this voodoo recipe book. You could use it. There are,however,only a few ways of hurting the undead. Voodoo dolls,curses,potions of overkill don’t easily kill what is dead. Turn to page 53 if you want to learn more. And now,I will bid you farewell.” You teleport back up to the surface.

After you return to the surface you go to check on Super and Hopper.
Super seemed to be awake.
“Hey what’s up?” She asks.
You explain the vision and the encounter with the fortune teller.
‘Well there’s only that cemetery to explore let’s go!” She shouts
You two enter the cemetery.
“Hello JJ And Super Grape” Came a familiar voice.
You look to see….

When you get back to the surface, you find your self in front of a house. You have nothing else to do so you go in. “She’s my wife!” He replied.
“YOUR WIFE!” both you and the zombie king shout.

(I am posting a bit of a subplot that will not be initially-not-tied-to-the-story-but-eventually-weaves-into-the-story. Is that ok? If not , I’ll just end it here.)
Meanwhile, elsewhere in Poptropica (this is around the time where JJ blacks out), the leaves are turning a golden red-yellow-brown, and the time of harvest and fall had arrived. It was time for school, schoolwork, and warmer attire. It was time for the the Carnival.
The town’s favorite autumntime event had finally arrived, after so many years being on hiatus. The Ferris wheel, the classic carnies, everything was wonderful. Everyone in town was nearly bursting at the seams with anticipation. In the distance, one could hear the billowing notes of the carnival music, the sweet, whimsical tune so many knew by heart. And yet, something…..something almost unnoticeable, something seemed a little…..off.

I’m lost…I read like a quarter of this awesome story before i got lost. Could someone give me a summary?

“Sweetie, what are you doing here?” Grim shouts.
“I needed to talk to JJ about something. Can we save this whole reaping thing ’til after?” Ivy asks/demands.
“But Ivvvvyyyyy!!!” Grim whines like a little kid.
“No buts. JJ, come over here where we can talk in private.” You follow her a bit away from the group. You catch Young’s eye and she looks worried. You get a surge of confidence, or try to look that way. You throw your chest out and move your shoulders back. You make yourself look taller and walk with a purpose. Once you’re out of sight, though, you shrink back, even smaller than you were before.
“JJ, I have come with news. You are not the Chosen One.”
You gasp, like in the movie where there’s the dramatic music and a close up on the main character’s face as the make that scandalous gasp.
“B-b-but how? I can read the language!!”
“Even I don’t know the answer of that.”
“But how do you know I’m not?”
“You see, every one knows my husband, Grim Reaper. He’s in charge of death and making sure every spirit stays dead. He’s the equivalent to the Greek god, Thantos. But nobody knows me, Ivy League. I’m the spirit of knowing. I’m the one who puts knowledge inside your mind. I make sure the wrong people don’t get too much of certain wisdom. I, myself, know everything. And I know that you, Jumpy Jumper, are not the chosen one.”
You cross your arms. “I’ll need more proof than that. You really expect me to believe your some wisdom spirit and I’m not the Chosen One just because you ‘know’’’
“I have a book that you should read, JJ” You pick it up and see the following:
‘I just ruined the world. Soon, everyone will only know of 7 continents on the planet we call ‘Earth’. Right now, there is a continent about the size of Australia in the middle of the Pacific called Poptropica. But not for long. I ran into a witch, the founder of this fine land. I told her I was leaving the island (which is unheard of and frowned upon) because it was too boring. Well, you can tell she wasn’t too happy with that. She cursed me and the land to be eternally (I think this works. I can’t use another word that starts with a d and ends with an mn because it’s also profanity) banished. I’ve used my last bit of magic to connect the land to a weird force. I don’t know what it is at the moment. I hope it gives me a chance for survival.’
You flip through some drawings and some nasty notes from the witch. You can’t write them in the Ongoing Story Book because kids can read it. You finally find another page from the original author. It reads:
‘The witch is on my trail, but I found my old journal and I want to update it for the benefit of whoever finds it in the future. It turns out the force was something to be invented in the future called the Internet. Now kids can come ‘online’ and find out world. Only, they think it’s a game, but they help keep the peace. As they keep discovering new places on the island, they help keep the peace. But if they get too far, and the Chosen One hasn’t been found, they will release the full wrath of the witch and Poptropica will be destroyed. The witch can only be defeated by the Chosen One. The Chosen One will be one who is brave and selfless. One who is willing to die for those they love. One who is without origin and who can move without a trace. One who runs from Ice. One who has befriended the Dragon, only to create a fatal rift between them. One who is destined to die in the end. Only they can defeat the witch and save the land I love. The witch is here. I will hide my journal on Island X and fight her. Maybe I can weaken her. Goodbye, good friend’
And the book ends. You look up, unable to speak.

She is timeless, in fact, but her loved ones always saw her as their own. She lost her father at a young age, only to find he turned evil. She had to flee her home because of what she thought killed her mother. With here ‘siblings’. She befriended the Dragon on her travels and became quite fond of him. Then she did indeed create a rift between them. She also met flees Ice, the nickname of a powerful force that almost tricked the Chosen One into thinking they were allies until she could eleminate her. She indeed is the witch, Ice. And she will die in the midst of the battle between in witch, never to be brought back again. That is, if she makes it that far. Whether she completes her mission in vanquishing the witch, and her identity is for me to know, and you to find out.” Ivy says with a twinkle in her eye. “I’ll talk to my husband into letting you go, but I can’t promise anything after the final battle against the witch.”
“Ivy? One more thing. After this battle with the witch. Will I finally be done? Will I be able to rest and live my life out in peace?”
“A hero’s work is never done, Jumpy Jumper. I bid you farewell. Until next time.”
Ive League disappears before your eyes. You ponder what you just heard before going back to your friends. You tell them what happened and what you found out. When you list the qualifications of the Chosen One, Young looks uncomfortable, like she knows something, but when you say the Chosen One is destined to die in the end, she snaps back. She goes rigid and tries to look brave/normal, but you can see the fear in her eyes. You don’t know why.
“I think we should try to find the author’s house, or wherever he was captured to see if we can find any clues on where to find the witch,” you suggest.
“One problem. Island X was Monster Carnival Island. Which is now released. Island X is gone,” Young comments. Then a voice in the shadows speaks.
“I know where you can find the old coding for Island X.” it says. Out of the shadows steps…..

You almost finish reading the first sentence when you hear someone behind you say, “I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” You turn around to see the unfamiliar person, except the person isn’t there. When you look back foreward, the book is gone, and it is replaced with a bag of gummy bears. You look up and see giant gummy bears. “The book you had has dire consequences. If you do not believe me, ask me how I am a gummy bear! Each usage brings a worse and worse punishment not only to the subject of the voodoo, but the user of the voodoo. I wanted revenge on this person I hated, yours not to question why. Look where it’s got me!” Okay…so this is strange. You might have closed the book if you still had it. Then the bear burped. “Excuse me, haven’t eaten paper in a while.” So he ate the book. Great.
EDIT: The fourth sentence is supposed to be “You look up and see a giant gummy bear,” instead of “You look up and see giant gummy bears.” My mistake. :3

“The doctor said he’ll be here in an hour” Bill says to her.
“Look I need to get to monster carnival do you have a helicopter?” She asks him.
“No but I do have a friend with a boat license that can take you there” He replied.
“That’s perfect” Super says smiling.
So bill calls his friend and Super gets on the boat.
The boat starts to make it’s way to monster carnival.
I wonder how’s it going to look? Super wonders.

(I started writing this part when the latest post was Sticky’s, from May 21. So, this might be a little confusing. I decided to take the story in a bit of a different direction. But then Miner and Super showed up, and continued the Story. I decided that I put in way too much time in making this to be thwarted now, so I’m continuing from Sticky’s May 21 post. Shift:// JJ VS Shadow while Buying Life Insurance, Third-Person View
JJ signs the contract. Suddenly, he realized that he dropped his Ultimate Weapon ™ outside! Dr. Shadow comes back with the Ultimate Weapon™. “Die, Jumper!” But just before Shadow fires, JJ throws the life insurance to Super through the window.
Super catches it, and then screams. Shadow shoots the weapon at JJ, and he blacks out, not expecting to live.
Then everything freezes.
JJ is caught in mid-air, knocked back by the blast. Dr. Shadow’s mouth is twisted into a cruel expression. Super is gasping in horror at the scene before her. Bill just stares.
The air starts to shimmer, and then a figure materializes in a corner. His face is obscured by the hood of his dark-gray cloak. He carries a large, tall, mysterious bundle on his back. He surveys the tragedy unfolding before him with an air of grim acknowledgement.
“Such a sad scene. Sadder still, that as of yet, there is no brighter alternative…” the figure murmured.
“Well, I suppose that’s why I am here. Now, to aid these heroes…”
The figure uncovered the tall pack he carried on his back to reveal a gigantic pencil, with a hilt in the side. Drawing the pencil, he pointed it at the frozen four. The pencil began to glow.
“Now, let’s take it from the top. Rewind.”
The frozen Poptropicans go through the scene backwards, in slow-motion. Before long, the figure’s pencil-blade’s abilities have reset the scene to the point where JJ bought the life insurance. As the figure walks outside the shop, he glances at the villain chasing Super and the powerful weapon he held, the figure started over toward him. “And now to take care of ‘Dr. Shadow’—”
The scene began to ripple and distort, to the anxiety of the cloaked figure. “What? I don’t understand…surely the timeline hasn’t continued already–”
The figure pressed his fingers to his ear. “I need an update on the state of the Creation.”
There’s an infinitesimal pause before there’s a voice on the line. “*Ahem* …There already appears to have been 2 new additions to the story in the time that you’ve appeared. Both of them were by the one who deems himself, ‘a miner.'”
The figure grimaces. “That one…and to think that I made my way here to intervene, a risky move in itself, only for him to contradict me.” The figure ponders for a moment. “Hmm…it seems like I’ll have to meddle even more. Agent, organize a Deviation Event.”
“Sir!?” the agent responded with alarm. “T-t-that’s r-restricted! You know that using that is dangerous—”
The figure was insistent. “Trust me, Agent R. Going along with the current timeline will be quite troublesome. Instead, I plan to…’nudge’ it into our intended direction.” The figure looked at the distortion in the scene before him. “You need to do it, quickly. The current storyline won’t hold for much longer. And one more thing, Agent R – make sure that this doesn’t get recorded. No one who holds the OSC in book form must see this. As far as anyone in this world is concerned, this meeting never happened. Understood?”
“Sigh.” Agent R. submitted to the figure’s command. “Omitting from time log. Locking OSC permissions. Authorizing chrono-shift. Activating sub-admin controls. Deploying Deviation Event.”
The scene started to warp and distort even more, swirling around and around, dissolving into a psychedelic miasma until there was a loud POP!
Everything now seemed normal, except that it wasn’t. This scene was of the moment that JJ was paying for the life insurance plan from Bill. This plot would play out similarly to the former one – Shadow would rush in, JJ would be hit, and Super would inherit JJ’s life insurance funds – but there would be a twist to it; the Deviation Event would lead the story onto a slightly different path.
For now though, the result would be the same – JJ would be incapacitated.
The figure gritted his teeth. “With all the tools I have available to me, and the ability to alter the Story itself, I can’t do any better than this…” The figure clenched his fists. “I promise JJ, that this won’t be The End…but hope will have to wait another day…”
And on that note, the figure vanished, and the story continued…differently.
(So yeah guys, that is the first part of my addition. I have at least two others to post, because this started out as an extremely long plot.
The figure in this part is one of my characters. He’ll appear throughout the story periodically, but only when something truly world-breaking or tragic happens. Otherwise, he’ll be in the shadows, out of sight, watching.
He has the ability to alter time and storylines, as well as wield a gigantic pencil as a weapon. Due to these abilities, he can’t interfere often, or else he’ll get in trouble. (I’m not saying in trouble with whom, that will be revealed later~)
I dub him….the Pencil-Wielder.
Also, if you remember, the Pencil-Wielder arranges for this part of the story to be off the record. So I would appreciate it if you guys played along and not let ANY of the characters in-world to be able to read this in the OSC book everyone apparently has, to keep a bit of mystery. Thanks!
A reminder – after this point, the story will continue as Sticky the Miner’s storyline post-May 21, and beyond, with a bit of a twist. This will continue until my posts match up with the latest posts.

Shift:// Discovery of Bill’s Insurance Shop, Still in Third-Person View
“B-Bill?!” said JJ, utterly surprised. ‘Oh, wait,’ JJ thought. ‘I remember now – this is his life insurance shop. I wonder why he made it inside this weird cave. Hmm…’ Curious, JJ walks up to Bill. “Say Bill, what are the conditions of this life insurance?”
“Well,” Bill says, ”After you purchase the life insurance package, there’s only one condition: Whoever holds these insurance documents after your death – friend or family – will receive a LOT of money.”
“How much is a lot?” JJ asks.
“A lot.” Bill replies.
“Okay then, I’d like to get life insurance, please,” JJ says, throwing Bill his entire wallet.
“Hmm,” Bill murmurs, after inspecting JJ’s wallet. “You don’t seem to have much in here…” Suddenly snapping his fingers, Bill cries, “But that’s OK! Since you’re my second customer, I’ll offer you an exclusive discount! You’ll have just enough. Be right back.”
After he checks the details, Bill comes back with some legal documents and a contract, which JJ signs. “Nice doing business with you, JJ!” Bill grins.
JJ shoves the documents into his pocket and goes outside the store. Suddenly Super appears. “Oh, hey, Super. Where’s Shadow?”
Super is still catching her breath. “He’s…*pant*…not…*pant*…far…*wheeze*…behind–”
JJ peers over Super’s shoulder, panic appearing on his face. “No, no he is not.”
“Correct, young Chosen One.” Dr. Shadow steps out of…the shadows. “And you shall not escape from here alive, now that I have your Ultimate Weapon™…wait, what?”
Dr. Shadow looks at his blaster in confusion. “I could have sworn that I stole the Ultimate Weapon™…”
JJ frantically searches his person, only to find that the UW was missing. Dr. Shadow sneers. “No matter. You shall still meet your end here.” The blaster charges up.
JJ realized what was going to happen. He shoved the insurance documents into Super’s hands and pushed her out of the way.
“Die, Jumper!!” yelled Shadow. JJ is hit with the weapon, and loses consciousness, not expecting to wake up.
“Jumpy! NOOO!!!” Super runs over to JJ, screaming. “JJ! JJ?! Are you okay? JJ, wake up, please wake up, JJ…” Super sniffles.
“Heh heh heh. It’s your turn, girl.” Suddenly, Dr. Shadow points his blaster at her. “You’d best run, if you want to live,” he snarls. Super screams and tries to escape Shadow, narrowly dodging his blasts. She trips and falls into a chasm, total darkness engulfing her.

(Man, I’m forgetful. Part 3 was supposed to come out ages ago…oh well. Here’s the last episode of my ridiculously long post – Part 2
(And here comes part 3 of the Deviation Event.)
“Kid, you there? Hello? Yoohoo! Anyone home?”
Super awakes with a start next to Bill, who’s leaning near her. “Ah, good, you’re still alive.”
“Ugh,” Super moans. “I…he…where did that man go?”
Bill shrugs. “Beats me. He just disappeared. I was more focused on making sure you were still breathing, so I brought you up to my shop.” He looks at the life insurance documents Super still clutched in her fists. “Say….wait a minute…I recognize those!” He snatches the papers and reads them thoroughly. “Hmm…I see now…are you related to Mr. Jumper?” asks Bill.
“Yes…I was his sister…”
“I see…I understand now…just a second!” He runs into the back and comes back with a few sacks of gold. “Here you are, missy!”
“Wait…what?”
“Your brother signed up with one of my life insurance plans. So when he dies, his closest family, or friends, will get a lot of money. And well…that happened. So here you go!” Bill tosses the sacks to Super.
The sudden realization that JJ was dead, once again, rocks Super. She starts shaking her head back and forth. “No, no, no, not again, this can’t be happening. Not again, no, no, no, no, no, no, No, No, NoNONONOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!” Super bawled. “JJ, why did you do that!? Why does this have to happen all the time? Why can’t we have an adventure without my brother dying? Why? Why!?” she sobbed.
Bill shifted uncomfortably. “Well, um, look on the bright side! Now you can collect his beefy insurance funds!”
Super paused from crying long enough to stare death daggers at Bill. “Bright side? Is that what you call a “bright side?” That I can get money for my brother dying? For the umpteenth time?” Super began moving towards Bill.
“Whoa ho, hey now, let’s not raise a ruckus,” Bill nervously backed up.
“How is it a bright side, when my brother is gone once again, joining my friend who’s ALSO gone? And one day, another of my friends will join that list to save Island X and everyone else!” Super was angrily jabbing her fingers into Bill’s ugly business suit at this point.
“I—” Bill started.
“Heck, at this rate, ALL my friends will die, and I’ll be all ALONE, and then the villains will get me too, and then they’ll WIN, and then Poptropica will be RUINED, AND then Island X will NEVER be FREED and YOU CALL THAT A BRIGHT SIDE!?!?” Super progressively grew angrier and angrier until she began to beat her fists on Bill.
“Hey, hey, calm down–”
“SHUT UP! YOU’RE SO ANNOYING!! YOU ARE SERIOUSLY THE MOST USELESS POPTROPICAN EVER IN EXISTENCE!! MY BROTHER AND FRIEND ARE DEAD AND I NEARLY DIED AND MY OTHER FRIENDS ARE GONE AND ALL YOU CAN THINK ABOUT IS MONEY!?!? YOU CAN KEEP YOUR STINKING MONEY!! IT CAN’T BUY WHAT I REALLY WANT! IT CAN’T BUY…it can’t buy…my brother…”
Super slumps to the ground and starts crying again. Bill just stands there, slightly bruised, mouth open wide in shock.
After what seems an awkward eternity, Bill cautiously goes over to where Super is sobbing. He sits down next to her and squeezes her shoulder.
“…sob…leave me alone…sob…”
“…Hey, kid…I’m…I’m sorry for what I said. That was foolish of me…I know that sometimes I can get a little…overboard with the…optimism, but it’s only because that’s my gimmick. Without it, nobody would pay attention to me; I’d just be a shady-looking businessman…”
“…silent crying…”
“…I’m sorry for your losses. JJ was a pretty good kid. I bet your friend was a good guy too.”
“…Yeah. He was always looking out for us. He sacrificed himself several times for us. Even when he messed up, he had good intentions. I hope I get to see him alive again.”
“I bet you will. Kid, you got spunk. You’re strong, brave, you’ve got a great team of heroes backing you up – I believe you’ll find a way. Say, what was your friend’s name again?”
“His name was…Clean Shark—“
“HOLD IT! Did you just say Clean Shark?” Bill appears to be in deep thought for a moment. “Ah, yes, him, I remember now!” He goes into his interior office and rummages through his desk.
“Here we are!” Bill exclaimed. “This was my first customer! Mr. Clean Shark! He’s been, de–“ glances at Super’s unhappy expression “…um, deceased, for a while – I should know, I arranged his funeral.”
“Did…did Clean leave me anything?” Super asked.
“Hmm…yes, but it’s not money. Actually, Mr. Shark asked to alter his insurance. So instead of money, he asked me to give you…” Bill takes out an envelope. “…this.”
Super takes the envelope and opens it. Inside is a note, addressed to Super.
Dear Super, instead of money I have one last request:
Keep Poptropica alive and keep having many more adventures, stay cool
– Clean Shark
She smiles.
“I promise, Clean. We will save Island X and protect Poptropica – I Pop Scout promise.”

(Nice! My only complaint is that you made Bill too three-dimensional…that completely destroys the point of his character: He’s supposed to be an annoying salesman that no one likes who’s basically a failure at comedy. Giving him character totally evades this.)

She sees you. “JJ!” She hugs you. “Whoa,whoa,kid! You’re alive?!”,Bill says. “Well,ain’t this a pleasant surprise!” He flashes his pearly whites at you. Suddenly,before you can tell what happened,Little Hopper comes out of nowhere! “Hopper! Where have you been?!” “Long story,JJ. But the important thing is that Clean may still be alive!”

You follow Hopper to the swamp,where the missile crashed with the Zombie King. Hopper explains to you on the way how the Zombie King grabbed him when the missile attached to him,and how he managed to jump into a nearby pond just in time to avoid getting exploded.
You manage to get there,where you find a huge hole.
It reeks of Zombie flesh,but you don’t see the king himself there. “So,what’s all this about Clean,anyway?”,Super asks. “Well”, Hopper says,”he’s right over there-HUH?!” You look where he’s pointing,but you see no one there. Only a note. You pick up the note and read it.

You ask, “What kind of poem is that?”
A voice behind you says, “Not a poem, a legend.” You turn around and see someone in a dark cloak with comets embroidered on the sleeve. You ask, “What kind of legend?” The other person says, “The legend of the Power Force, Poptropica’s only hope.”
