Choosing your tribe in Poptropolis Games is no small decision. You’ll fly your tribe’s colors both in the game, and on your personality profile. Here’s your first look at a few of the tribal logos.
Pretty nice, eh? That’s only half of them. There are still four more to be revealed!
Over the next several week we’ll be bringing you even more information about Poptropolis Games, including all of the tribal names and icons!
CAPTAIN CRAWFISH
Those are pretty awesome looking. I wonder if you restart the island that you can change your tribe.
GTG dinner calling!
*turns into the incredible hulk (RAAAWWR!!) and crashes through the wall, and runs off*
Well, probably not. It’s hard for a flame to burn at the bottom of the ocean. But when the city of Poptropolis re-surfaces every 100 years, the ceremonial torch burns for as long as the competitive fires do!
CAPTAIN CRAWFISH
Hey, I just realized something. How do the citizens of Poptropilis BREATH underwater? I mean, even I can hold my breath underwater for 2-3 minutes, but 100 years, might be a bit of a stretch.
Time for the next PCB post.

What, I’m not cool enough?
Well, I’ve had enough. Us creators can see who have friended us, even though you can’t see everyone who has friended you. But listen, I’ve been looking at the other creators’ pages. Binary Bard has 2,534 friends, Black Widow has 3,083 friends, and even that total NERD Ned Noodlehead has 1,874 friends. But me?
I have 19. NINETEEN!
What? You don’t like me? The eye-patch intimidating you? Still angry that I tried to rob and loot and steal from all those islands? That wasn’t personal or anything, you know!
Well, I quit. Bye!
It wasn’t nice not being your friend. :’-(
CAPTAIN CRAWFISH
Oh well. CC gone. The one we used to love nomming so much.
*tries to hold back laughter*
Haha! I’m KIDDING! CC isn’t leaving. I faked that post.
I’ve been having a blast making new friends on Poptropica. I wanted to introduce you to a cool person I’m following
Tiny Crush has an awesome outfit, has never cheated on a test, and has completed 25 Poptropica Islands! (Not Vampire’s Curse, though — what’s up with that?)
It’s great to know Tiny Crush, and I’m looking forward to seeing what else he gets up to in Poptropica. Maybe you can meet Tiny Crush, or even the Poptropica Creators, by visiting the common rooms on Poptropica. No matter who is there, we guarantee you’ll be making some new friends!
CAPTAIN CRAWFISH
Uh, yes. It is the real one. Some more info we can see about Tiny Crush is his favourite ice cream flavour is Cookies ‘n’ Cream (same as CC!), he does some sort of karate, he hasn’t been bitten by a dog, something about hair, his fav kind of ball is a soccer ball and something similar to Director D. Hmmm.
Anyway, I’d better hurry up and finish up this post. One more 100% genuine post from the PCB.
We have a few new things to share this week in the Poptropica Store. First, Poptropica Members can now get their exclusive Poptropolis Games gear!
These Member-only items include a snazzy Wrestling Singlet costume, a handheld Discus that you can throw around the screen, and the incredible Plant-a-Statue power, which lets you bring a little bit of the Poptropolis Games to any Island in Poptropica.
But that’s not all! There’s also a new costume in the store, available to everyone with Membership or credits.
Now, if somebody calls you a big baby, you can tell them they’re right, and throw a fit to prove it.
Enjoy!
BLACK WIDOW
Uhhhhh, what? Who agrees that these baby costumes are the worst ones in the store? All they do is cry and shake their rattles. Seriously people, don’t waste your credits on these costumes. However the members only items look pretty cool.
Cya people! *turns into Iron Man and flies away*
(BTW, I can’t wait to see the new Avengers movie!)
Whew! What a week it was at Poptropica. One day, we launched Poptropica Friends, and the next day, we opened up Twisted Thicket to everyone. Now, the weekend begins, and we plan to rest a bit — but we hope you’ll take the next few days to dive in and take advantage of all the great new stuff Poptropica has to offer!
So get out there — earn photos, make friends, and explore the tangled undergrowth of Twisted Thicket. And keep an eye out for all the other great stuff that’s coming soon to Poptropica, including Poptropolis Games!
CAPTAIN CRAWFISH
But there’s one problem with that…
There’s that message that’s been appearing on all the profile pages.
Random Person: Aw, come on! I wanna see my pictures!
Well… the Creators were able to explain the phenomonon. (is that spelled right?)
Whoa! We hoped that everyone would like Poptropica Friends, but even we didn’t expect it to be thispopular. The demand for all the new Friends features has been so great that it’s overloaded our servers! As a result, we’ve temporarily had to turn off some of the features to address the load.Be assured, we’re working hard behind the scenes to bring everything back up to speed. We’ll post any updates right here.Thank you for your enthusiasm!
DIRECTOR D.
Enthusiasm indeed, Director D.
I had all those pictures… I think 15… but then I wanna see them again.
The Creators recently mentioned on their blog that the painting “The Scream,” which plays a big role on Counterfeit Island, sold for a record $120 million dollars! Gotta scream with joy at that.
There should be a lame joke about munching somewhere, but the Norwegian name is really pronounced “moonk.” Hehe. 😛
On the subject of interesting art, did you know that this painting shown below, by Russian artist Malevich, sold for a million dollars?
Poptropica Friends is now out! 😀 If you want to add the PHB staff members (former and current!), here is the list! Will be updated in due time!

And don’t forget that if you want to add the Creators as friends, we have most of their usernames in our Poptropica Creators’ Database!! 😉

UPDATE!!!!! (5/2/12)
Twisted Thicket has released for everyone!
Go get those photos/medallions for your profile! And if you get stuck, you have our Twisted Thicket resources at your disposal 🙂
~~~
Throughout this week, the Creators were posting about the features in Poptropica Friends and how they work! 😀 Here, I’ll be posting them one by one, forming somewhat of a guide to it, I guess 😛 So let’s get started with…
MEDALLIONS
One of the great things about Poptropica Friends is that you’ll be able to see what medallions your friends have earned, and they’ll be able to see the same for you. You’ll even be able to show off how many times you’ve beaten each Island, by using Island Restart.
See how this person has all the medals for all 26 islands? Well, ALL your friends will see how many medallions you have earned, and how many times you’ve beaten an Island with Poptropica Friends! So start adding to your medal count! This feature is coming soon!
RECENT ACTIVITY FEED
Presenting the Recent Activity feed! You’ll see this little box whenever you return to Poptropica, and it will show you the most up-to-date things your friends have been doing in Poptropica. You’ll see when your friend has earned a photo, beaten an Island, saved a new costume, or answered a Pop Quiz. You can click through to see their full profile, or just flip through the feed to see what everyone is up to.
See also how that box has the Pop Quiz right next to it? You can also answer the Pop Quiz from the homepage!
PHOTO ALBUM
One of the new features that will be coming with Poptropica Friends is the photo album. It’s like your own virtual scrapbook of your adventures through Poptropica!
By playing through Islands, you’ll occasionally see a message that says “New Photo Added” when you get to an important part of the story. Then, when you visit your photo album, you’ll see snapshots showing you a new perspective of your character’s feats. Every Island has about four different photos. There are over 100 in total!
Even better: every time you earn a new photo, the outfit you were wearing at the time is recorded in the picture. Even if you change clothes, you can costumize from your photos later!
Wait, there’s more! If you’re looking through a friend’s photo album, you can costumize off of them, too. It’s like the number of possible costumes just went to infinity!
The only thing that I don’t like about this, is that you have to replay Islands to get the photos you need for your album. So even if you completed all the Islands on your account(s), you will have to replay the Islands to get the photos. They will not be pre-added to the photo album. So according to the picture, you can choose which island’s photos to display, and whether to costumize them or not! So cool!
COSTUME CLOSETS
Another new feature with Poptropica Friends is the Costume Closet, which allows Members to store up to 30 unique costumes at a time. Not only that, but you can look through your friends’ closets and borrow their best costume ideas, as well.
There you have it! The days of putting together a spectacular costume and then having to get rid of it are almost over.
If you notice, they say “which allows Members”. Does that mean the closet is only available for Members, or will Non-members be able to use it too, but store less costumes? Hmm… But Poptropica friends looks interesting so far!! 😀
Some ads and glitch videos that Loud Shark would like me to show you…
