Remember the announcement of the Wimpy Kid that was going to make history? Well, the announcment is….

A NEW ISLAND NAMED

*coughs* It’s tiring using that big voice…. Anyway here’s the trailer for Wimpy Boardwalk, coming this summer to ~~Disney Channel~~ Poptropica!

Island Plot:

It’s summertime, but the living ain’t easy for a wimpy kid. When Greg and Rowley visit the boardwalk for a relaxing beach vacation, they never expect to run afoul of thieving teens, ravenous seagulls, and crooked carnies. Only you can clean up Greg’s mess before vacation ends!

Before you go, there’s one more task to be done. A devious gamer has left an embarrassing message about Greg on a high-score list in the arcade. Can you master the game, save Greg’s dignity, and become the boardwalk champion? Find out how to get Membership now!

Members get an additional Wimpy Boardwalk gear pack, which includes Beachgoer costume, Heat Wave power, and Beach Umbrella item. The Beachgoer is ONLY available during Early Access!

Interesting! First time a character has appeared in 2 islands, and first time Wimpy Kid is in color! History -making announcement indeed! 😀 Speaking of announcements, have you noticed the homepage has been changed?

Yeah. Also, the Creators mentioned that if Members beat the ancient warrior in the Poptropolis Games, they can get this Ancient Warriors suit!

I must warn you, my friends, they aren’t highly rated. (Only 7%!)

No other robots, are there around.

(I mean, they were underwater!)

Or perhaps, you will go, with Flying Squid!

Their chances of winning are worth a fair bid.

(More than an inkling, remember?)

Or Yellowjackets, like wasps they are fierce.

Their balloon of bad luck, they are looking to pierce.

(Which will make it go POP and it will fly into tiny pieces!)

Or Seraphim, perhaps, they’re up to the test.

Last but not least, the Creators have revealed two more of the tribes – in addition to the 5 shown this past week – to compete in the Poptropolis Games, making a total of eight victory-inspired tribes!

Please welcome:

Wildfire

Winning a competition as tough as the Poptropolis Games takes more than talent. It takes a burning desire to win. Do you have the fiery passion to join the Wildfire?

It certainly does seem to be “the hottest of them all,” because a quick poll on the PCB sidebar reveals that 45% of all voters have expressed interest in this tribe the most! The Seraphim tribe comes second at only 17%, and all the others have less than 10% of the total votes each.

Are you lost in not knowing which one to pick? Try…

Pathfinders

There’s only one route to the gold medal, and this tribe thinks they know which way to go. Maybe you’ll help them get there!

Also, more big news– the Legendary Swords mini quest is now completely FREE! Previously, it was free+, meaning that everyone could play up until a certain point, where you would need membership to continue.

Five Divine Tribes and the Free Curse

Wow… it looks like the Creators are pretty eager to share with us the tribes. Here are the 5 we know about so far, the dates they were revealed, and what Captain Crawfish said about em:

Flying Squid- Monday- “This tribe hopes to have more than an inkling of victory in the Poptropolis Games.”

Seraphim- Tuesday- “This tribe will rise and fall on the wings of their dreams. Maybe you can help them achieve such great heights!”

Black Flags- Tuesday – “This tribe intends to plant the flag of victory in the heart of Poptropolis — and we suspect they’ll stop at nothing to do it!”

Nightcrawlers- Wednesday- The Nightcrawlers might look like pushovers, but they’re used to being used as bait. Watch out they don’t hook you!

Nan0bots- Wednesday- “Proving that good things come in small packages, the Nanobots are programmed for victory. Will you help them execute the gold-medal download?”

As you have noticed on the Creators blog, the Creators made THREE posts today. Wow, they’re eager to show us the tribes. Two of today’s posts were about the Nightcrawlers and the Nanobots and one of them tells about an update on the Poptropica app!
