Hello, fellows. Hi guys. Bonjour, monsiours. (Sorry girls, I coudn’t think of a hello rhyme that applied to you). It is me, Angry Wing, returned from the dead. (I wasn’t really dead.) As you all know, there’s been just a flurry of Poptropican activity in this past year.
First of all, in addition to Mission Atlantis 3 releasing to members this Thursday, the Creators finally confirmed, as if it were an afterthought, that nonmembers wouldn’t be left out: Survival 4 is coming out on Aug 7 for all as well. Exciting, right? AAAAAHHH. Just had to get that out, Poptropica is so busy.
So that’s Poptropica. Now read on if you want to for a valuable life lesson 😀
I must say, it’s made me rather lazy. Yep, LAZY. *shudders* You know it’s like, “Should I post today? Oh lookie, HP and Samwow and Fishy all have posted recently, I can wait.” Or maybe, “Should I post today? Wow, delving into the Creators files? I can’t possibly top that! I’ll wait.” You know? It’s a vicious cycle. (Not really that vicious). I feel terribly embarrassed, because when I signed up for this gig, one of the requirements was that I would be a faithful author. I gave up my Poptropica membership this summer, and I pondered retirement. But no! THE SHOW MUST GO ON!
And it is. Right now. What you are reading is the show going on.
If there was only one thing I could teach you, it wouldn’t be about Poptropica. It’s this:
You’ll always have an excuse. Don’t use it. Ever. Remember, excuses are useless.
Well, anyway, I’ll be back soon. So watch yo back, fools! Just kidding, just kidding.
This has been an inspirational public service announcement from the esteemed, all-powerful Angry Wing, who is also super-awesome and thinks his readers are even more awesome.
Wow, 13 million hits already? We just had a party not too long ago, but you guys do deserve something super cool for bringing the PHB this far! This thirteen means you’re in luck, not out of it – because as the graphic above summarized, this celebration comes in 3 awesome parts! 😀
part one :: the complete daily pop sneak peek archive
Yes, the whole shebang, from November 2010 to the present! After lots of hard work collecting all the images from a certain link where the date can be changed, the PHB now has the complete archive of sneak peeks from the Daily Pop all on one page. Browsing through the ages here should be a lot easier than using the actual Daily Pop! We’ll be updating the page every month. Click here to view it!
Zapped: A jarring circumstance for this little fella.
Crystal Caves: Untold riches await, for those who dare.
Fisheye: Look at this creature through a different lens.
Pain in the bot: Only a nanobot could get in the groove here.
Pop Rise: Oh, you pale blue dot. You blue marble.
Far Out: Where it came from, no one knows.
If you’re not convinced of the insurmountable awesomeness that lies within the archive, check out the above snapshots for a sample of what you might find, from rough sketches to unreleased ideas and everything in between. Great for your personal Poptropica graphics, too! 🙂
part two :: the poptropica help blog readers’ survey
For the first time ever, we’re asking you PHB readers to fill out a quick survey so we can get some feedback on what you’d like to see on the PHB, what the PHB reader population consists of, and more. It’ll only take a few minutes! Click here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NTVYMLY
I may even post some of the results later, so if you’d like to have your voice heard, or if you have ideas for the PHB, please take a moment to answer the survey! Might as well, right? You can skip questions if you like, and your responses will be anonymous unless you wish to sign your name.
part three :: spotlight for 13 lucky poptropica fansites
The PHB is fortunate to have so many viewers, but perhaps not everyone enjoys the same amount of attention in the Poptropica community. That’s why, in honor of our 13 million hits, we’re going to list 13 lesser-known, yet active Poptropica fansites who we know from the PHB/PHC community, so that their efforts may be seen by other Poptropicans too. (For more sites, see the PHB’s directory.) Enjoy!
Adventure Time Pop – Adventure Time & Poptropica, by Spotted Dragon and her team
Top Pop (no longer active) – a Poptropica blog by Cuddly Lion and his team
Disclaimer: we do not own any of these sites and cannot control what you may see on them. However, at the time of this post, their focus is Poptropica and they are run by Poptropicans who have been known to frequent the PHB and/or PHC. Also, if you own a Poptropica site that is not listed, please do not be offended – there are plenty of fansites out there and our goal was to list only thirteen. 😉
Whew, you made it to the end of this lengthy three-part post! Thanks for sticking with the PHB, and we hope you enjoy the Daily Pop archive, PHB survey, and our Poptropica friends’ sites.
Hey Poptropicans! Quick post to alert you that there’s a new video ad on Main Streets (I found it on Super Power). After playing the trailer for the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, you’ll receive the Pizza Time Power! Using it gives other Poptropicans in the area a random-colored mask (orange, purple, red or blue) and pizza slice handheld, but unfortunately, they can’t be Costumized.
For my post about the new Galactic Hot Dogs ad prizes, see the post below. Also, be sure to check out the 18th issue of the PHB fan magazine, The POPCORN, which was just released this week!
Stay tuned to the PHB for something awesome happening very soon! We’re close to the big milestone of 13 million hits, and a post much bigger than this is on its way… 😀
Hey Poptropicans – Galactic Hot Dogs is back on Poptropica with some new goodies! This time I found it on Main Street of Super Power Island. Last time the GHD stand was around, it brought along the Ice Blaster Pistol, and the time before that, the Princess Dagger (girls) and Cosmoe (boys) costumes. Those prizes are now back, along with two new ones: Jack and Princess Follower!
When you click on the GHD stand to receive your prizes, you’ll also be brought to the GHD site on Funbrain where you can read the graphic novels for free! By the way, Galactic Hot Dogs uses the font “Luckiest Guy”, which PHB author HP once recommended as a free alternative to Poptropica’s title font, Ghostkid AOE. Cool, eh? 😀
Also, here’s a look at part of the prize pack in action: the Princess Follower is as tall as your Poptropican, Jack transforms your head and body into a robot (you can use the Costumizer tool to remove it), and the Ice Blaster Pistol freezes innocent bystanders into a block of ice for a moment.
Enjoy your prizes!
Update by Samwow5: Hey everyone! There is a new feature for Poptropica’s costume closet! It’s only accessible on SUIs: you customize a Main Street character and the Costumizer screen pops up.
By clicking the green button with a clothes hanger and a plus, it adds the costume immediately to your closet. When you click the blue button with a hanger, it opens up your closet and lets you scroll through and delete costumes you don’t want.
And in other news, issue #18 of the PHB magazine, The POPCORN, was just released – click here to check out this month’s compilation of Poptropica fanfiction, artwork, fashion trends, and more! Keep on poppin’ on, Poptropicans. 🙂
Hey Poptropicans! Issue #18 of the PHB magazine, known as The POPCORN, has just been released, with all sorts of Poptropica fan creations, including a fun round of Poptropica Truth or Dare by Quick Fang, a look at the latest eccentric fashion trends, Creators re-imagined by HPuterpop, and more, so…
…clicked it yet? If not, you’re missing out on a piece of the PHB legend. 😀
For more information about The POPCORN, check out our Magazines page to find out what kind of entries we’re looking for and how you can submit something in for publication!
They are published on the first Sunday of every month, just like the older series of Poptropican 911s, so you’ve got until September 7th if you’d like to be a part of our next magazine!
Hope you enjoy our pop-pop-Poptropica Help Blog fan magazine!
