But, that’s not all the memeing for this week! Two PHB authors had their birthdays this week, so I made them both some meme faces! 😀 Happy birthdays to Slippery Raptor and Slanted Fish, once again.

Want your own meme face?

Well, it’s simple. Comment on the most recent PMFM post (just choose the one of the list here). Be sure to follow the criteria below:

Very crucial: Wear the outfit you want to have in the meme face on Poptropica and keep it on for at least a week.
As mentioned, find the most recent PMFM post (it will be at the top of this list)
Include your Poptropican username into a comment.
Include the meme face you would like on your Poptropican in your comment (a link to an image of the meme is very preferred).
Post your comment and wait! (PMFM is operated on a first come-first serve basis, so your meme face will come after all of the ones before are released).
Just a note: You do not need to re-comment on newer posts if you haven’t gotten yours yet. Once I reply to your comment mentioning “You being added to the list,” than I have seen your comment and added it to my literal list, so yours will be made after each one before is made.

Poptropica TV is here!

Hey Poptropicans!

If you’re an avid player of the Poptropica app, you may have already seen the Poptropica TV stand on Home Island. If you tap play, you’ll see a quick animation of dancing Zomberry zombies – which Poptropica also tweeted out a couple of weeks ago. (Thanks to Mad Apper for the tip and picture!)

Right now, it looks like this is only for the mobile app, but hopefully someday it’ll be brought to the online version as well.

Poptropica TV also promises to have new videos every week, a promise we’ll be checking back on, so stay tuned! The videos to come next are probably the ones on Poptropica’s YouTube channel, featuring a toon of Shark Guy and a Draw-My-Life of Gamer Guy. However, it’s been almost two months since these were announced, so who knows how long it’ll be before a new PopTV video! 😛

If you’ve been checking the Creators’ Blog, you probably noticed that Poptropica has recently flooded it with posts that offer cheats and walkthroughs for some of the more recent islands, presumably to bring some traffic to their blog. PHB Sunday Special: The Monster Carnival Fanfiction Duology

Hey guys, my name is Brave Tomato, and the past few weeks have been busy for me. So, as you guys may or may not know, I am a Poptropica fanfiction writer, and just last Friday I released a story called Forevermore, a sequel to my Monster Carnival fanfiction Nevermore from last year.

For today’s PHB Sunday Special, I’ll be introducing these two works! 🙂

I will proceed to show off both fanfictions now, giving brief synopses and background information, as well as links to where you can read them. Hope you enjoy!

Nevermore

Some of you readers may recognize Nevermore from Issue 15 of the POPCORN magazine, back when it was called the Poptropican’s 911. I released it April 23, 2014, so it is relatively older. Here is a summary for this one:

Based on the 37th island, Monster Carnival, and the newspapers featured in game, this fanfiction tells the fan-made account of the young and frail Bird Boy, a bird-human hybrid abandoned by a carnival, his short time in town, and the circumstances in town that caused him to become the notorious Ringmaster Raven years later.

So in a nutshell, this is a fan-made prequel to Monster Carnival going into more detail on what was on the newspapers we found in Dr. Dan’s apothecary, from the Bird Boy’s arrival to the town (which I dubbed Sanguenera, as a personal nod to a story I wrote when I was younger also featuring a “Ringleader” Raven) to his eventual exile.

Forevermore

Forevermore, on the other hand, is brand new! I just released it last Friday (the 13th). Unlike Nevermore, Forevermore is an interquel, meaning in this case it takes place during the events of the Monster Carnival quest. Here’s a summary:

An interquel to Monster Carnival and sequel to Nevermore. Ringmaster Raven’s carnival has arrived in town, promising fun for all. However, Dr. Dan isn’t feeling any of the cheer, for he realized that his own fate could be sealed by its coming. From the author of Nevermore, Forevermore focuses on Dr. Dan’s point of view, and what led to his mental breakdown in the Bonus Quest.

This one focuses on Dr. Dan rather than Raven. I worked on this one since May with a long break in the mix. It focused on an internal conflict rather than an external one, that being Dr. Dan’s struggle to identify himself as a monster.

Bonus Items, Escape from Pelican Rock Island, Reality TV Island

The Escape from Pelican Rock (and Reality TV map) begins!

Hey, Poptropican prisoners!

Yes, you heard it right! Escape From Pelican Rock Island is now open for preview to the public! For now, everyone can visit Main Street and collect two prizes – read on for more details!

We think that the island’s common room could be Bert’s Basement Gym or the City Bank. What do you think it is? Along the street, you’ll also find a Fresh Fruit Stand, some prisoners digging a hole, and the Ferry Market. Like the soundtrack? Listen to it here!

Now to get the prizes, you must talk to the first cop you meet on the island. The cop needs someone to take care of her bird, and after the conversation you’ll automatically get the Pet Bird Follower!

As you move further to your left, you’ll find a police officer with her dog. She’ll stop you and tell you that her dog — Sparky —doesn’t like you. As a precaution, she gives you the Prisoner Costume which includes the costumizable Sparky trailing right behind you.

What a great way to start the island, eh? I believe these are great prizes with crazy backstories. I also think that in the next few weeks, we’ll see more development and meet new people on the island. I hope we’ll get more prizes as we come closer to the island release!

We’re all very excited about this island. Are you? The island comes out in December, at least for members! By the way, if you’re a member, don’t forget to get your free Escapee Dr. Hare costume!

Plus, the Reality TV Island World Champions tournament started today! Good luck and let us know how you ranked by completing RTV Island and checking the map! If this is your first time finishing the island, you’ll also get 200 credits, which is 50 more than usual.
