Hello, everyone!

Lucky Joker here and today I’ll be sharing updates regarding the #MyPoptropicaCostume contest, the Poptropica app and more! Skinny Moon has seen most of the FAQ on Poptropica’s social media and decided to answer a few today on the Creator’s Blog, so let’s get right to it.

Regarding the #MyPoptropicaCostume contest, here’s what she had to say:

We haven’t forgotten about the #MyPoptropicaCostume contest. Au contraire, my popping peeps. We are almost done combing through all the entries and hope to open up voting for the runners-up later this week!

You read it right—Voting could open up as soon as this week! When the voting process commences, we’ll let you know. Can’t wait to see all of the amazing runner-ups!

She also mentioned Poptropica Worlds in her latest post and is fully aware of all of the questions we have. Expect a FAQ post to appear on the blog in the near future. 😉

Also, don’t forget to vote for February’s Islands of the Month. Voting ends tomorrow January 24 at midnight ET, so be sure to do so soon. Here are the results so far:

As for the Poptropica App, there appears to be a new ad (acknowledging Poptropica’s latest comic – Week 32) with a couple of prizes to be earned! Though it may be on the desktop version as well, I was only able to find it on the app. Anyway, let’s pop right into it!

I’ll admit, the game is pretty difficult  but it’s still fun nonetheless! To earn your prizes, slide your finger across your screen to dodge falling objects which include bananas, barrels and carrots. (It makes much more sense if you read the comic. 😛 )

The broomsticks up on the top left corner signify the amount of times you can get hit with an object before you lose. The bar on the left shows the progress you’ve made on your way to the finish.

Upon completing the game, you’ll win the Flying Monkey Costume and the Banana Peel!

Time to Vote: What will be February’s IotMs?

Hey there, Poptropicans!

It’s Happy Lobster, and I’ve got some good news for you. As many of you would know, Islands of the Month takes place monthly (obviously), and so that means that two brand-new IotMs will be announced once January ends and February commences.

In a quick summary, IotMs result in the following:

  • 500 credits are given for first-time finishers of corresponding islands, and 300 credits are given to replays;
  • IotM members-only store costumes and powers will return for a limited time;
  • Behind-the-scenes artworks, scenes, plots, and other items of IotMs unseen before will be showcased on the Creators’ Blog, and;
  • Captain Crawfish will make any video walkthroughs for IotMs that don’t have one already created.

But this time, you get to decide one IotM for February – out of Super Power Island and Reality TV Island. Sadly, you will not be able to determine February’s other IotM – which, as of yet, is unknown – but one is more than good enough, right?

Anyhow, the poll ends by Friday, January 27th Tuesday, January 24th, at midnight, ET. (Updated: The time has been moved up to give Captain Crawfish more time to make his video walkthrough!)

Poptropica Worlds

Introducing… Poptropica Worlds!

Let’s get right to it!

Apparently the Creators are going to be showing use a whole new world soon. *cough* Aladdin references aside, we seriously do have some news on New Poptropica! Finally!

Well, we already know that New Pop, or should I now say Poptropica Worlds, didn’t get released in 2016 of course, like it was first expected to be. However, we now have a new time frame to look forward to! While “Spring 2017” is fairly broad, at least it’s something. And generally speaking, when given a seasonal release date we can safely assume that the exact date is towards the beginning of said season, in this case Spring.

Apart from the release date, we can actually tell a lot from this video announcement! For one, the normal Poptropica art style we have come to know and love is just slightly different. It looks like we will be keeping the signature round head, eyes, and absent neck, but we will now have more detailed hands/arms and legs/feet!

In addition to these new looks, according to the Creators, we will have a ton of other new features to look forward to as well:

  • New, exciting Worlds to explore
  • Favorites from the original Poptropica, remastered for Poptropica Worlds
  • One account for everything Poptropica!
  • Your very own customizable home (remember this poll?)
  • More costumes than ever
  • Daily prizes and awesome games
  • And more to come…

Since “only test dummies are allowed into Poptropica Worlds right now,” we will just be getting some sneak peeks of what’s going on behind the scenes until New Poptropica officially comes out!

In addition, keep an eye out on the Poptropica Help Chat (PHC) around 8:30-9:00 EST tonight – Jessica said that she will visit there around that time! (Check out our recap about her visit in this post, where she answers questions about Poptropica Worlds!)

I know that there has been a lot of suspicion circulating around this huge update, but based on this preview I say we keep an open mind for now. Who knows, this could be great! Heck, hopefully we might even get some more information on the entire Poptropica Universe and its backstory… 😀
