Daily Pop, Sneak Peeks

Never-before-seen pics from the Daily Pop!

The addition of the new Daily Pop feature also brings us several never-before-seen sneak peeks for upcoming islands! Below, I’ve posted the 6 pictures currently being shown on the Daily Pop. What do you think these pictures could mean?

The River Wild
Something stalks this humid jungle.

The Sher Thing
The Poptropica Creators audition some sherpas for a mountain-climbing expedition.

Wet Your Whistle
Where there’s a saloon, there’s a town. But not necessarily vice versa.

In General
The hallmark of a good general store: If they don’t have it, you don’t need it.

Trucks!
This is where the brainstorming process begins when a new island calls for vehicles.

Riding Coach
All the world’s a stage. On one new island, the whole world might be a stagecoach.

Let us know what YOU think!

In other news, the PHB’s “Cryptids Island” info page is now up! We know the plot of this island is about a billionaire promising a big reward to whoever proves the existence of hidden creatures like Bigfoot, and now thanks to PHB reader aaronhui777600, we know that the rich guy’s name is Harold Mews! Click here for the item SWF file (#230) that proves this.

Comics, Daily Pop

News from the Daily P(r)OPhet! No… fine.

“What’s happenin’, guys! So most of you guys are saying Hogwarts is being ruled by Severus Poptropica’s down. Well, it’s back up! And with….” ~EL

The Daily Pop, a new edition to Poptropica.

Loud Shark made a video exploring this new exciting feature:

They even changed Poptropica itself by added a new Tab bar and a great new homepage.

Here is a guide to the new Tab bar.

If you click on the Daily Pop you will get to Poptropica’s newest “newspaper of sorts”.

There are three sections in the Daily Pop. There are Comics, Games, and Sneak peaks.

COMICS:

In this section you can look at comics such as one’s like Big Nate and Peanuts. But also others ones that are new to Poptropica, sure to induce your daily pop of laughter (See what I did there? ;-)).

GAMES:

These are not you normal Poptropica games, in fact, you don’t even use your poptropican to play them. Many of you are familiar with the popular online game site miniclip.com, well, all the games are from that site. Sure to induce your daily pop of.. uh. games.. (Yah, that’s getting old.)

SNEAK PEAKS:

This should come in handy a lot in the future. Check out the sneak peak pictures they have on right now! There’s a dude with an iPhone! 😀 (Yup, the best item ever. Believe it.)

“wOOt! Yeah! Go down now and read it! Also, not Poptropica-related, but you guys saw the new harry potter movie?! Me too! Whatever… Poptropica time. 5 stars to whoever thinks the comics are BIG NATE. *wink* Cio!” ~EL

NINJA VANISH!

Daily Pop, Sneak Peeks

Do we get moar Coke?

Pop means soda, so we might get soda if this feature will be released in the near future… (JK but still XD)

What is Daily Pop?

I’m not sure, but it’s coming soon!

Oooh! What do you guys think Daily Pop will be? A quest every day? You get something free? Who knows? Let’s hope it’ll be exciting! Comment on what you think this will be!

Update: According to this web article that Neat Tornado shared with us, Poptropica Creator Jess Brallier has big plans for Poptropica:

Poptropica will launch eight books with Penguin in 2012, Mr Brallier says. Poptropica is launching personalised pages, enticing players with daily quizzes and comic strips, and pitching the site as a new platform for comic syndicators, which he says are “petrified” by newspapers’ decline.

That statement has since been removed from the web, but we think that’s what the Daily Pop is going to be about! …AND Poptropica will be writing books and publishing them, for realz! :O But there’s more…

Mr Kinney, who writes scripts for Poptropica with Mr Brallier’s son Max, is working on a Wimpy Kid island, and Mr Brallier says half of the islands on Poptropica may be branded in the next year.

“I want to create the next Disney,” says Jess Brallier. It is an outlandish statement, but in one area, the ebullient Boston-based author has beaten the Burbank entertainment empire.

Poptropica, the “virtual world” Mr Brallier launched in 2007, has passed Club Penguin, a Disney site, to become the largest US children’s destination online, according to Quantcast.

Pretty intense! Wimpy Kid Island? The next Disney? o.O What do you think the future of Poptropica holds??
