Hey guys, BT here. Now I know all of you are anticipating playing either Mission Atlantis: Fortress of the Deep or Survival: Distress Signal later today, but I have news on both episodic islands.
First of all, there are two new extras for Survival (a printable poster and desktop wallpaper) in celebration of Cabin Fever, the fourth episode. These two extras, especially the desktop wallpaper, reveal the appearance of our much-talked about seeming antagonist of Survival, Myron Van Buren.
Now this looks like a face of someone you can trust.

Anyhow, next up we now have a description for Episode 3 (presumably the last episode) of Mission Atlantis with an… interesting yet vague description.
Episode 3: Out of the Blue – You’re on the verge of the greatest discovery in human history — but an ancient intelligence has other plans.
…ancient intelligence? Well… that explains the techy stuff seen on the Daily Pops lately… but… I’m kinda lost. Why do I have the feeling it’s the same ancient intelligence that was discovered back in Lunar Colony? Maybe I’m rethinking from HP’s post way back when…
Ah well. I’m just curious, that’s all. Especially now that I know what Myron Van Buren looks like, I can anticipate Cabin Fever in peace.
…oh, I’m excited for “Fortress of the Deep” and “Out of the Blue” also.

I’m confused now – which island will release its next episode first, Survival or Mission Atlantis? On one hand, the Atlantis: Ep. 2 medallion came first, followed by the incomplete one of Survival: Ep. 4…
…and, on the other hand, the Creators have just released a new members-only freebie into the Store for Survival: Episode 4: the Rhino Costume!
UPDATE: As noted by Enricc1, if you have a friend wearing this costume, you can customize it from them, even if you’re not a member! HP (username: puterpop) is currently wearing the Rhino, so you can customize this two-piece outfit from him if you’d like. Hurry, before the Creators fix it! 😛
Also, everyone can now play episode 3 of Survival (Distress Signal) on the Poptropica iOS app for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. And not only that, the Creators have confirmed that this episode will also be online for everyone tomorrow, June 26 (Thursday)!
Oh, and Episode 2 of Mission Atlantis (Fortress of the Deep) will be released on the same day (June 26), but only if you’re a member. We’ll have the walkthrough here on the PHB as soon as possible, so keep an eye out for it! 🙂
Back to the medallions, though: they’re arranged in the order of the islands, and the next installment of Mission Atlantis looks like it’ll come before Survival’s, seeing as that medallion came first. (That is, unless the Creators go rogue and break their pattern again, which has been happening quite a bit lately…) Long story short: Atlantis: Ep. 2 for members tomorrow, Survival: Ep. 3 for everyone on the app now as well as online tomorrow! Now to wait for Survival: Ep. 4…

Hey everyone! I was on Poptropica, and I noticed in the island medallions section of the profile that the medallion for Episode 2 of Mission Atlantis has now been uploaded!
Of course, since the second episode has not been released yet, the medallion has not yet been won. I checked yesterday, and the medallion wasn’t there at the time, so it must’ve been added earlier today. My guess is that the episode will be coming out either tomorrow (June 19, 2014), Friday (June 20, 2014), next week Thurs/Fri (June 26/27), or if not, then very soon! Like last time, I don’t think we will be faked out about the new episode. Stay tuned to the PHB for when more details become available.
UPDATE: The medallion for Survival: Episode 4 has been added as well, but only partially, as the image itself is not in the circle. This means the episode is most likely coming out very soon as well, maybe even on one of the days I predicted above. It’s also possible that Survival: Ep. 3 releases to all when this happens. (thanks to Aquafish & Cℓαяα Oѕωαℓ∂ for the tip)

Hi Gs,
Episode 3 came fairly quickly after episode 2 of Survival, but the release date was delayed by a day so they could fix bugs — this is the first time that had ever happened, too. So, did the extra day pay off, or was the episode a wreck? Let’s find out! You can check out the last two overviews for Survival here, or view the PHB’s full guide (with pictures) for Survival here.
The most noteworthy thing about this episode is the environment, and everything that makes it up. The soundtrack surprised me, and even though I had already heard it, it really contributed to the environment. The sounds were also very nicely put together, and everything was brought to a new level of eerie this time around.
The layout of the island was quite different than the past episodes, and it was built to a grander scale. Everything was fine tuned, and attention to detail was a big factor in the island.
In my past overview, I mentioned the continuity between the episodes, and here it just shows even more, and perhaps a little more subtly. You find a manifest, which is a catalog for the cargo/passengers on a plane or ship. On the manifest is listed the various items that you have been collecting throughout the adventure — meaning that someone had passed through everywhere you had been!
I was surprised to find that when playing it I felt that it was pretty educational, more so than usual, and more obvious. To assemble the radio, you have to find zinc and copper, and while you find the zinc in an old box, the copper is found by searching through a collector coin bag. You may know that they stopped making pennies copper in 1982 — so you have to find the one from 1981 — genius!
As for the story, right around now does the story really pick up. We learn that a passenger of a Mews Airline plane, Max McGullicutty, has been stranded on the island. We don’t meet him, but on the manifest is a small note saying “Don’t trust MVB”. MVB stands for Myron Van Buren, and from our speculation about him, it seems like he’s going to be the antagonist of the adventure.
The Survival series seems to get better every episode — I rate this episode 5 out of 5 stars. 🙂
