Poptropica is filled with a variety of islands, each one unique with its own stories and characters. Explore island tips, trivia, and other extras through our blog archives!
Well, it turns out that Survival: Distress Signal, will be releasing for members this Thursday, June 5th! This probably means thatย the previous episode,ย Hook, Line and Sinker,ย will likely be released on that date too for nonmembers.
In case you don’t know or remember, here’s the description for Distress Signal:
A broken radio. A chance for rescue. Send a distress call if you can, but beware of who might be listening!
Hey everyone! I just went go check the Survival tour page, and I noticed that a description has now been added for Episode 4! Here’s what it says:
Your rescuer offers a hot meal and a comfy bed, but you’re not his guest – you’re a prisoner. Can you escape the wilderness lodge before his next hunt begins?!
Sounds a lot like our Van Buren theory, inspired byย General Zaroff in the short story The Most Dangerous Game! Of course, we already knew about this. The name of Episode 4 is Cabin Fever, which has not yet been updated on the Survival tour page – but we know this from aย look at Poptropica’s code:
This can be used toย find new and unreleased Poptropica pics and details – as you can see from the sample above, Episode 4: Cabin Fever involves a bear claw, security code, empty pitcher, full pitcher, and some tainted meat. Stay tuned to the PHB,ย where we’ll be uncovering more in an upcoming entry of theย Survival Files!
Hey everyone! The Creators just released a members-onlyย Puffer Fish costume in the Store for Episode 2 ofย Mission Atlantis, Fortress of the Deep! This costume is amazing! I wish it had a powerย that would let you prick people though. ๐
Now that Mission Atlantis: Episode 2’sย members’ bonus item, desktop wallpaper, and printable posterย have been released, Episode 2 shouldย be here pretty soon! My prediction is that it will come out either next week Thursdayย (June 5) or next next Thursday (June 12), as islands tend to come out on Thursdays.ย I really hope the next installment of Mission Atlantis (guide here)ย will be great!
Stay tuned to the PHB for an upcomingย sneak peek post for Episode 2 ofย Mission Atlantis. We’llย feature lots of the new areas, items, and dialogue from the island, so be prepared for spoilers! ๐
Hey Poptropicans!ย The Poptropica Shop is having a spring sale this weekend, and you can get 30% off any purchase of custom Poptropica t-shirts/sweatshirts by entering the code SPRING30 at checkout! (Note: these shirts currently only ship if you’re within the U.S.!)
And OMZ (whichย I imagine can only meanย oh my Zeus), did you hear? Mythology Island has been added to the Poptropica mobile app, which is available on all iOS devices! It’s the same as the online version, so if you need a walkthrough, check out the PHB’s Mythology Island Guide!
Android users, there’s some good news – according to the official Poptropica Twitter, the Poptropica mobile app will be available on Google Play around July, which is only a couple months away!
Also, there’s been a strange glitch with the inventory (thanks to KeithSammut for pointing this out!) – the “Vent Blueprint”, which belongs in the 24 Carrot items, can be found among your Shark Tooth items! What’s up with that? ๐
Anyway, don’t forget that the PHB magazine (now known as POPCORN) is looking for creative Poptropica fan stories, artwork, fashion, island ideas, and more for its next issue, which is coming June 1st! Check out the Magazines page for more details, and remember to email all entries to phbpopcorn(at)gmail.com! ๐
Hi Gs, whatย isnโtย happening in the world of Poptropica? Prepare to have your mind blown with all the new things happening in the Poptropica universe!ย ๐
Also, I made a new Poptropica-based wallpaper, showing washed up villains after we take their evil. I’ve recorded the making of the poster, and you can check it out along with other speed art here. ๐
Deleted ad rares
Recently, something happened that was feared for quite a long time — rares from old ads were deleted. Among the deleted items are the Barbie hair, the lion mask, the popcorn suit, the penguin hat, and the Flint Lockwood hair. For some, those were key parts of their costumes, and they’ve been around so long that it’s sad to see them go. The Barbie hair was the most influential, and it was quite a glitch classic. Will we ever see these items again?
Advertisement updates: CapriSun & HTTYD 2
A new advertisement has popped up recently, being for the CapriSun Roarin’ Waters campaign, that I found on Early Poptropica. ย When you go inside, you can play either of the two games: Save the Swimmer or Save the Sunbather. For the first, you have to surf out into the ocean to save a swimmer from an octopus, and in the latter, you have to make your way through an obstacle course to save a sunbather from… sun burn. Hmm, which premise sounds more dangerous?
There areย a couple of things that are worth mentioning about the ad, not counting the stupid cards that you get for completing the quests, first being the host of the interior ad — if you’re a boy, the host has somewhat straight hair, while if you’re a girl, the host has curly hair and sunglasses. I find that a bit strange, so tell me what you think in the comments!
To finish the first quest concerning the swimmer, click to jump on your surf board, and avoid mean fishies/rocks while boosting your heightย by touching flying fruit baskets in the grasp of seagull’s claws. (Quite a mouthful, I might add. ๐ )
The cool part is that while you’re playing the game, you have a shell in your hand that you blow on to calm the octopus. To keep the shell after you play the game, press ctrl+shift+s to change your skin color and keep the item! Same goes with the second game, where you’ll get a bottleย of sunblock. When you press the space bar with the shell equipped, you perform a musical motion, while the sunblock is just presented with pride.
Another ad showcases the upcoming movie How To Train Your Dragon 2, where if you watch a (way too long) trailer for the movie, you get a neat “Toothless Dragon Fire” power. When equipped, it gives you a strange looking smile, and when you press spacebar, fire bellows out from within. If you’re close to someone, it will give them a burnt look — priceless! Although when you think about it, sort of painful.
Tip: Save the mouth to your closet, and after the ad is removed, you will still be able to use the power!
Upcoming island updates
First of all, the fourth episode of Survival’s name has been uncovered: Cabin Fever (unrelated to the Wimpy Kid book. ๐ ). This episode looks like the best one so far, and I’ll be revealing the awesomeness in upcoming Survival Files. ๐ In the meantime, check out this awesome scene:
You can also check my Survival 2 video walkthrough below. ๐
With the release of Survival 2, many things are revealed about how they’re going to do things with episodes — but first of all, I want to express my feelings about something… ARRGGG!!! What have they done to the first page of the map?! Obviously, they took the two SUIs from it and moved them to the last page, but why?! It just feels so wrong! And the last page is so squished together now… I’m a long time Poptropica player, and when you start to change the layout in drastic ways like this, I don’t take to the updates very kindly.
I know, it seems sort of ironic since larger updates have been made, e.g. the new map, the Friends feature, etc. But don’t do small things that mess up my orientation! It may seem like a small change, but I’m not happy. ๐ The one thing that I am happy about would be the way that they’re going to be presenting episodes: there are pop up screens that let you choose between episodes — genius!
