Hey, I’m Smart Icicle! Join me and my pet, Kovy, as we explore the endless possibilities of indie animation. A little about me is that I like to draw doodles to brighten everyone’s day. I also am a former author of the PHB and run my own animation channel on YouTube called Smart Icicle Animations.

Ask Poptropica Siri is a Q&A segment here on the PHB where you, dear readers, are invited to send in your Poptropica questions to have them answered with all the wisdom you can expect from a Smart Icicle.
Hey everyone! It’s good to be back. Let’s get into some of your questions!
You get to invite one Poptropica character to your birthday party! Who are you inviting? ~HeartOfEnder
This is one of the hardest questions. My birthday has already passed this year, but to be honest, I always wanted to have a pirate-themed birthday party. So I would probably invite Captain Crawfish. Not to throw any of the other Poptropica characters out the door — I would invite all of them, because then it would be a nice house party. 😎
Spilled Milk: Don’t cry over it.
What is your favorite Poptropica fanship? ~Magic Kid
I feel a little embarrassed now because I don’t know about most Poptropica fanships. I think of the characters more as friends than being romantically involved. I guess I’d pick Dr. Hare and Dr. Beev (I know I said that before, but that is really the only fanship I know of).
I’m curious about what your favorite fanships are — share them in the comments!

What is Zomberry juice made out of? ~Rough Clown
So we know that on Zomberry Island, it is made out of blueberries. But taking it a step further, I would like to think of the Zomberry juice as a Grimace Shake — that limited edition berry-flavored purple smoothie from McDonald’s last summer. Poptropica totally saw that one coming!
Finally, I want to answer a question of my own — what’s next for me and the PHB? I’m heading off for college soon, but I’ll still be around this community! The PHB is the first blog I’ve worked on, and I think it’s made me become a better writer. I may even pursue writing as a career.
Trust me, I’m not done yet with the PHB. I still have fun articles I’m working on, including a big Pop-over that I hope you will all enjoy. I just wanted to share this, so thank you and I hope to see you all soon!

Hey fellow Poptropicans! Welcome back to Ask Poptropica Siri. I’m so excited to be back and return from yet another hiatus. Let’s jump into it!
If all the islands existed in real life, which one wouldyou not want to go to?~Magic Kid
I would love to go to most any of the islands IRL, but I would not want to go to the Monster Carnival Island. No offense, I like carnivals, but when it becomes nighttime with all the monsters, I’m not really a fan. Another would be Vampire’s Curse because meeting a vampire hunter would scare me. (It would be cool flying around as a bat, though! 🦇)
Who do you think is the most well-written hero?~Serious Heart
This was hard, but I would have to say Basho from Red Dragon Island. I really like how he teaches us how to become a ninja. It was fun to learn, but stealth is not my specialty.
What is your reaction to what’s currently happening in Poptropica?
So this is the most brought-up question I see in the fandom. My initial reaction on the Poptropica shutdown rumors was that I was devastated. I have been playing Poptropica for a really long time now and it’s sad to see a popular game run into problems and almost come to its end. To me it was like seeing the disappearance of Club Penguin again — any OGs here will remember Club Penguin.
Poptropica is one of my favorite childhood games that I still play to this day. I’m glad it’s not shutting down yet, because if it was, then I don’t know what game I will play. It is the only thing left of my childhood that I remember playing.
Dog Paddle: Keep kicking those feet.

Thank you so much for being a part of this journey. I’ve been busy IRL especially with writing for my school newspaper and taking time for my mental health. Now that the stress has lifted, I’m so happy to be back in the Pop community. See you all soon! ~🌸📚❄️🌸

Hey Poptropicans! Welcome to another Ask Poptropica Siri post. Let’s roll in the questions!
In your opinion, which Poptropica character has the most tragic backstory? ~Magic Kid
(Spoilers ahead for Arabian Nights Island!) I would go with Scheherazade as she was neglected by her father due to his thirst for wealth, which pushed her into becoming the master thief. All she wanted was for her and the Sultan to be happy. If you really think about it, the Sultan never cared for his daughter until he saw the drawing Scheherazade had created. Seeing parents completely obsessed with something else other than caring for their family seems tragic to me.
How tragic is Ringmaster Raven’s backstory from Monster Carnival? ~Raven stans on the PHC
Considering how Raven (then known as Bird Boy) was kicked out of his town according to the newspapers, I would say that it was a little bit tragic. But I’m neutral about all the controversy about Raven. Like many other villains, Raven wants revenge for their tragic backstory. Remember, this is only my opinion on Raven.
If Charlie and the Chocolate Factory sold cookies and Red Dragon Island had noodles, which would you like better? ~Serious Heart
Well if I had to choose, I would go for the noodles from Red Dragon. I like cookies, but eating them every single day would not be healthy. I am a noodle lover, that’s what I stick to. (But I wouldn’t mind an occasional cookie from the chocolate factory!)

Yes, I know it’s been a long time since the last one. But I hope you enjoyed it! Have a great summer everyone, and I will see you later!
Hey everyone! Shortly after Survival Island, Ep. 3 finally re-released for all last week, here comes Ep. 4: Cabin Fever — for members only.
Who knows when it will release for everyone, but at least it’s good to know the Pop Creators are still active. Be sure to check out our Survival Island Guide if you get stuck!
🎵 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Heroes in a Half-Shell — Turtle Power! 🎵
It’s time to hang out with the Turtles on their new home base on the map or through the billboard on Home Island, promoting the new TMNT Turtle Mayhem movie. Talk to Raphael and you’ll be taken to New York City! There, he’ll give you all the TMNTs’ masks along with Katanas (sadly, none of the other turtle weapons).
Go down to the sewers, talk to Mikey, and he will challenge you to a race in the skate park. Beat him to get his Nunchuks!
Next, go up and talk to Donatello. He tells you to go inside the Pizza place. There, he challenges you to a pizza mini-game. Beat him to win a Pizza Van.
That’s a wrap! What did you think about the new ad and episode?
By the way, don’t forget to submit your vote for the Poppies! See you later, Poptropicans.
Ah yes, the nostalgic times. I found Poptropica when I was around 10 years old. Me and my friend were sharing one Windows 7 computer, looking at ads on our games. We had never heard of Poptropica before, but we were in the mood to try something new.
So we created our first account together: Bronze Socks. (If the name sounds familiar to you, yes, that’s my Community Creations partner!) Anyway, this was during the peak of Poptropica, with the Multiverse, all the islands you could play, everything.
After a while, we each got a computer and didn’t have to share anymore, so me and my friend went our separate ways. I continued to play Poptropica as Smart Icicle (username: Target1051). Here’s me on the New You building of an older Home Island!
2. Who do you think is the most underrated character? Overrated?
My choice for underrated character — I found many, but I would have to say the magistrate from Ghost Story Island. He’s nostalgic to consider, yet a bit villainous — after all, he did orchestrate a murder.
The most overrated character right now, in my opinion, would be Rumpelstiltskin. With all the Fairytale Island lore ongoing these past couple of years, including Rumpel’s possession of the Baron, and now being hunted by the Red Queen, it seems Rumpel is highly ranked among people’s villain tiers. Still, I wish each villain could get equal love in the community, rather than the hype often going to the same ones.

3. What are your favorite scenes, aesthetically and to play through?
I love seeing Binary Bard’s and Dr. Hare’s dreams in Super Villain Island. Another one is the Imperial Garden from Red Dragon — at one point, I even set it as my phone wallpaper because I loved it so much!
I also liked most of the scenes from Arabian Nights, which have some of my favorites to play through as well: catching Scheherazade as a genie, and being in her princess room. And I enjoy a good villain takedown — although I didn’t get to witness them from personal experience since the gameplay was difficult, it was fun watching Captain Crawfish, Binary Bard, Dr. Hare, and Black Widow getting defeated.
4. From your perspective, how have you seen the Poptropica Help Blog (PHB) and community change over time?
To me, it’s an equation: Pop changes = PHB changes. Every time Poptropica changes, the PHB does as well. So much has happened to the game over the years, and the community has evolved too. I’ve seen this mentioned often and completely agree that, with the end of Flash in 2020, many people lost interest in Pop, including myself.
Perhaps the pandemic had something to do with the game’s momentum slowing down. But despite the shifts, I’m still happy to see the PHB keep going, and parts of Pop still hanging onto some of its OG content.
Eye Alone: Looking out from within.
5. How has your PHB career surprised you?
I was really excited to see what would happen after I became a staff writer on the PHB. My PHB career surprised me because it sent huge waves of creativity that I never knew I had, plus it changed my writing style. Before joining the team, as a reader, I had zero creativity and zero interest in writing. I have to say thank you to Slanted Fish for this opportunity to write about something that I enjoy. After joining the PHB, I was inspired to continue writing, and even started my own blog.
World Warriors: Welcome back to the stage of history.
6. What inspires you?
Music, video games, family history, movies, TV shows — they all inspire me. As the saying goes: Inspiration is the key to success. Even watching other people writing inspires me.
7. What does the Pop community mean to you?
The Pop community means a lot to me. It feels like another whole family to me. I love just watching everyone’s whole different approaches and ideas, and I feel like I helped inspire new guest writers on the blog.
Turban Core: Into the heart of a den of thieves.
8. How have your experiences with the community and Poptropica influenced you IRL?
I would say Pop has influenced me a lot IRL. It not only brought back my creativity and love of writing, it also made me love trying out new games to enjoy on the web.
9. Outside of Poptropica and your PHB involvement, what are you passionate about?
I love my family, friends, teachers, and writing. They all just make me feel me.
Gallery: The writing is on the walls.
