What time is it? …ADVENTURE TIME!! There’s no better time or place for adventure than this!
Why “Adventure Time”, you ask? Well, why not? There used to be Adventure Time items and costume outfits in Poptropica, as well as an “Adventure Time Pop” website.
Now, I originally designed this realm based on the “Candy Land” board game, but after watching the Adventure Time Candy Kingdom on TV this morning, I decided I just HAD to suit up and crank this realm adventure up a notch!
Crank it up I did. Cake the Cat and I have just finished a special mission from the Cookie Patrol: To venture across the kingdom, find the stolen treasure of the Giant Gummy Bear, and bring it back to the gingerbread village!
Did we find it? YEAH! It was a total CAKEWALK! No pun intended, kitty…
We took the treasure back to that village in the blink of an eye, and that hibernating candy colossus was none the wiser to this bouncin’ bunny! And don’t worry. We hid the treasure in a safe place where no more thieves can find it.
Now that THAT’S done, I think I’ll just drop by the castle of the Ice Queen to say hi…
And here’s a game of musical chairs and a VICTORY SONG to go with it!
🎵 “Ohhhhh I wish I was in Candy Land where the rivers of lemonade flow…
…Where ice cream grows on tall tall trees and the chocolate grows on the ground!
What?! The chocolate grows on the ground?
SURE, the chocolate grows on the ground!” (YEAH!)”🎵
Cake, the music stopped! If you don’t take a seat, you’ll lose! …What’s that? You wanna play a different game? Ok, Cake, there are all sorts of games to play in this realm!
No, we’re not playing hide-and-seek. This realm is TOO big! It’ll take FOREVER to find each other out there. You’d probably eat the whole realm before I ever find you!
How about that ice cream truck over there? The driver’s ALWAYS looking for someone to race with in the Wreck-it-Ralph Sugar Rush Race!
And look, there’s Mr. Mint in the Peppermint Forest! That’s PERFECT for a good old-fashioned game of Candy Land. Let’s join him! I’ll be Princess Lolly, you can be Plumpy, and the Ice Queen can be Queen Frostine.
Me: Ice Queen? Ice Queen?
Ice Queen: Stay outta my Ice Cream Sea, Princess! …Actually, it’s more blue raspberry lemonade and Swedish Fish than anything else, but if you want to go fishing too, wait your turn!
Me: Go Fish? That’s a GREAT idea! Why don’t we play Go Fish as well as Candyland? We can have a GAME DAY!
Ice Queen: …Oh, very well. You got any threes?
Me: Nope. Go fish!
Ice Queen: How about a seven?
Me: Nope. Go fish! …Got any fives?
Ice Queen: OH, come on!
Me: YEAH, I win! Now that I’ve passed Queen Frostine and the Ice Cream Sea, I can head straight to the Kandy Kastle and WIN the-
Ice Queen: Hey, that’s MY castle you’re talking about! You can’t go there!
Me: Aw, what? I thought you said we could play Candy Land too!
Ice Queen: I said we could PLAY it, lady! I didn’t say anything about FINISHING it!
Me: Oh! Ok, well, what game do we play now?
Cake: HEEEEEYYY, girl! HEEEEY, Ice cream Queen!
Me: Oh, hey, Cake. What’s up?
Ice Queen: Ya see, THIS is why we’re not finishing Candy Land! You and Plumpy here won’t stay on your own terrains.
Cake: Sorry, Ice queen, but I needed to tell BOTH of you what I saw just past the sugar plum trees. The Huntress wizard and the Cherry Pie Princess are looking for more players to play William Tell in the Fruity Forest! There are enough apples for a HUNDRED archers there!
Ice Queen: Are there cherries growing there too?
Cake: Oh, yeah! There are enough kinds of fruit to play FRUIT BASKET in there!
Ice Queen: Oooh, goody! Hi-Ho Cherry-O, here I come!
Cake: Groan …Fionna, I’m gettin’ HUNGRY…
Ice Queen: Groan …Me too, Fionna. Are there any donuts anywhere?
Me: As a matter of fact, there are. We’ve got a mountain of donuts, and even the classic donut-on-a-string party game!
Ice Queen: Wooo-hoo-hoo! Watch me eat this donut in one bite!
Cake: I’m a magic cat. I could eat the whole MOUNTAIN of donuts in one bite if I wanted to!
Ice Queen: Say, how about I read a book after lunch?
Cake: It better not be another Finn-and-Jake fanfiction.
Ice Queen: OH, no! THIS time, we’re reading “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”!
Fionna: YES! That’s my FAVORITE book! Where do we read it? Inside my secret hideout?
Ice Queen: No, that bunker’s too small for all 3 of us… Wait, I know the PERFECT spot!
Ice Queen: There just so happens to be a pink Wonka boat in this realm, so we can go read this book in THAT BOAT!
Me: YEAAAAAHHH! You’re a GENIUS, Ice Queen!
Cake: Even I think that’s a great idea. Let’s do it!
LATER…
Cake: Oh, WOW, that was such a great book! I can’t believe we read through the whole thing already.
Me: I can! I read the whole thing aloud once before, and I LOVED it! Wonka’s the BEST.
Ice Queen: I KNOW, right? That book reading was the most fun I ever had since Poptropica’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Island”, where we finally got to experience what it was like to find a golden ticket in REAL LIFE! Oh, Glob, I miss those days…
Cake: Yeah, you and me both… By the way, thanks for reading us that bookl
Me: Yeah, that Wonka impression was NUTS!
Ice Queen: No, thank YOU! I was so sad all these years without being able to play that Chocolate Factory island or any of those OTHER old Poptropica islands, but YOU two just showed me that we can LIVE the adventure of Poptropica as well as play it! To use your creativity and logic and all your sense of fun to have an adventure no matter WHERE you are!
Me: Yeah, EXACTLY! Adventure ‘til ya drop! That’s what I’m TALKIN’ about! …Well, it’s been a great day, but it’s time for us to turn in at our treehouse for the night.
Cake: G’night, Ice Queen! We should do this again sometime, like maybe Friday Night. You can join our weekly movie club, and we can all watch “Wonka” and “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” together!
Ice Queen: Oooh, I’d LOVE those!
Me: Me too! See ya then!
Me: Wow, I am BEAT. How much did we do today?
Cake: I dunno, probably more than most people do in a week. Maybe even a MONTH! Let’s just chillax and watch TV tomorrow.
Me: Good idea. A nice, long weekend of R&R, and then back to adventuring and realm building!
MMMMMMMM FIONNA AND CAAAAKE….!
Me: Wha-?! Is that Lemongrab?! What the gibs are you doing in our treehouse?! …And why is your head all covered with lollipops??
YOOOOU LEFT YOUR DOOR UNLOCKED!! YOU LET ME BREAK IN AND KNOCK OVER A MAGIC VILE THAT TURNED ME INTO THIS CRAZY CANDY PIE MONSTROSSSSSITYYYY… HOW DARE YOU?!
Me: Ok, we may have forgotten to lock our door this time around, but you breaking in and cursing yourself was all YOUR doing.
Cake: Yeah, serves you right for letting yourself in without being invited! Everyone forgets to lock a door once in a while, but breaking and entering is even worse!
Me: Yeah, man. It’s WAY worse. Maybe that lemon meringue pie body will teach you not to snoop around other people’s houses while they’re away.
…UNACCEPTABLLLLLLLLEEEE!!! GET ME THE LEMON PIE CANDY ANTIDOTE NOOOOWWWWW!!
Cake: Sorry dude, we can’t! You spilled the whole potion on yourself before we had the chance to study it and MAKE the antidote!
Me: But don’t worry. That spell was just a temporary spell! It’ll wear off eventually. You’ll be back to your lemonhead self in about a month from now! …Or is it 2 months?
TWWWOOOO MONTHSSSS?! TOO LONG! …TOOOOO LONNNNNGGGG!! MMMMOOOOAAAAAAHHHH…..!!
Me: …And DON’T COME BACK!
Cake: Yeesh… After all that, I’m not sure I wanna stay here for the night after all.
Me: Me neither. Let’s lock up and go back to the gingerbread house!
Cake: Hehe, maybe we should rig another magic trap in case somebody else tries to break in here.
Me: OH-ho-ho-ho, NOW yer talkin’!
LATER:
Me: Well, Cake, it looks like we’re back where we started. Back where we started PLAYING “Adventure Time” to begin with! I bet our cosplays woulda KILLED it at Poptropi-Con, but I think I’ve had enough now. Thanks for playing this game with me, kitty.
