Fanfic: The Chronicles of Friendly Thunder 🌩️ Prologue

Hello! This is Serious Heart again, this time with the prologue of a new story, The Chronicles of Friendly Thunder. I hope you enjoy it!

FADE IN.

NARRATOR:

Our story begins on the quiet island of Early Poptropica. A thirteen-year-old boy named Friendly Thunder is studying for his math test. Well then. Let’s begin!

FRIENDLY THUNDER:

If X + 20 = 44, what is the value of X? Argh, I give up!

FRIENDLY THUNDER throws down his textbook and is about to call it a day when he hears the doorbell ring. Knowing that he was home alone (side note: what parents would leave their kids home alone?) he knew he should probably go answer it.

FRIENDLY THUNDER:

What? Who is it?

FRIENDLY THUNDER opens the door and a strange figure wearing the DREAM GUARDIAN cloak stares at him — or would be, if his eyes were visible. He is holding a vase of poppies.

DREAM GUARDIAN:

Here is a vase of poppies, please do not smell them, if your life depends on it.

FRIENDLY THUNDER:

Okay!

DREAM GUARDIAN:

Good. We will meet soon, Friendly Thunder.

FRIENDLY THUNDER:

Wait… how do you know my name?

The DREAM GUARDIAN teleports away. The only clue he was even there, is the vase of poppies, lying untouched on the place where he had been.

FRIENDLY THUNDER:

Great. And I suppose he’s a wacko, so he probably was lying or crazy. Probably both. That guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about!

FRIENDLY THUNDER reaches for the vase and smells the poppies. They smell good… suddenly, FRIENDLY THUNDER feels dizzy and passes out.

FADE OUT.
