#MyPoptropicaCostume Results: Top 10 Runner-ups Finalized

Hello, everyone!

Lucky Joker here, sharing the results from the voting round of the #MyPoptropicaCostume Contest.

First, let’s recognize once more the grand-prize winners, whoย were announced last week. The prizes (which includeย 6-month membership, having their costume sold in the Poptropica Store and being worn by an NPC on Home Island) go to Creepy Peanut’s Ocean Princess and Speedy Toes’s Hip-Hop Boy for their outstanding ideas โ€“ check them out below:

And yes, there will be a version of each costume for both genders. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Now to the new results!

There were over 9,600 votes and the top 10 runner-ups have been determined. The winners will get a free 3-month membershipย and have their costume sold in the Poptropica Store later this year. (You can click the images to get a better look at the designs.)

In the collage above,ย the winners are, in order from left to right, top row to bottom row:

  1. “Celestial Mage” by Invisible Biker
  2. “Cyber Angel” by Bashful Sword
  3. “Diwali Inspired” by Lucky Jokerย (a PHB staffer โ€“ yours truly!)
  4. “Gamer Chic” by Fearless Dragon
  5. “Elemental Beasts” by Red Paw
  6. “Jazz Musician” by Perfect Skyย (another PHB staffer!)
  7. “Rainbow Unicorn” by Cool Sword

  1. I think the next contest should be the “The Villain Arises” contest! Who can create the biggest, baddest Poptropican villain? And maybe the reward will be the winning villain being featured in one of the new islands in Poptropica Worlds!!!

  2. Congrats to all the winners – especially fellow PHB-ers Perfect Sky and Lucky Joker! ๐Ÿ˜€ Although my “Hipster” didn’t make the cut (sitting at twelfth place), I’m glad it had the chance to be out there after a replacement was needed for one of the picks. ๐Ÿ˜›

As for ideas for future official contests, I’d love to see one involving creative writing! ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. @SC – They had this line in the contest rules:

“Notice to non-United States Residents: This Contest may not be legal for some or all residents of, or persons present in, certain Jurisdictions. It is your responsibility to determine the law that applies in the applicable jurisdiction, and SAM (StoryArc Media) does do not make any representation as to the lawfulness of the Contest in the applicable jurisdiction.”

It depends on where you live, but unless you know of some rule in your country that prohibits participating in online contests (which seems uncommon), it’s probably fine.

      1. Nice! There are lots of possibilities with writing: short story, poem, song parody, description of a Poptropica location/character/etc, and probably a ton more…

  3. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the Diwali look, hands down my fav! As and Indian, and particularly a Hindu, I’m very excited to be represented (finally)!!!

Also, does anyone know when the costumes will be sold? I’ve been obsessively checking the store everyday since the results were announced, and I still haven’t seen any of these costumes (I plan on buying most of them).

    1. That’s really cool to hear! Yeah, I personally would also like to see more representation for various ethnic and religious groups in Poptropica. Not that they don’t have that at all, but there could definitely be more. ๐Ÿ™‚

Also, not sure on when the costumes will be sold. As they were just finalized recently, I’d expect it to be some time since they will have to design (Poptropica-nize) the costumes for the game. It may not be until Poptropica Worlds releases this spring, but who knows. We’ll definitely post about it on the PHB when it does happen, though, so stay tuned!

      1. Thanks for replying! And OMG I’m SO excited for Pop Worlds! So many good things happening all at once, I don’t know how much longer I can stand the excitement and the anticipation!!

      1. Of course!! It’s your talent that you should be thankful for, truly ๐Ÿ™‚
