PHB Sunday Special: Hacks, Music, and Genius

I didn’t really take it seriously, but now, I sort of wonder.  I think I may have hit the jack pot, I can prove it to you with a link.  Maybe even a couple links.  Anyway, let’s break this down into parts.

Gamer Guy

The talk of the town is that Gamer Guy got fired.  Well, I’m pretty sure he didn’t get fired.  I have my theories, but I also may know who he really is. I don’t know for sure, but Kyle Fox sure fits the description: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/kyle-fox/14/190/587

I believe that Kyle did a one time job for Poptropica, and the posts were just part of that.  They took advantage of the situation, and made it into a sort of publicity stunt.  When the job was over, his fun was over. This seems to be slightly forced though, so what do you guys think?

The Music

If I haven’t told you before, here it is:  if all else fails, I will root for the new improved islands JUST because of the amazing soundtrack. Jeff Heim is a genius, his music is genius, and you can hear the actual original soundtracks from their original files. This is only the beginning.  More will be revealed later.

The Backgrounds

As well as music, you can view the backgrounds of scenes just like you can view items!  Sadly, you can’t save them to you computer, as they are shockwave files, and some of them are off of the screen.  Maybe in the future we can have a page dedicated to the backgrounds, as there are key words to reveal them.

The Body

You can also view parts of the Poptropican body!

The Sounds

You can also hear the sounds!

In  all, I think that this is a major breakthrough, and it’s not just for the sound islands.  To file away everything together will be a huge undertaking, but I think that it can be done!

There is more than just what I showed you today; the possibilities are endless!  I will post more some time or another. 🙂

Mocktropica Island

Mocktropica Island is available to Members Thursday!

That’s right! Mocktropica Island will be available for members starting Thursday, December 19! That’s 6 days away; at least they won’t be “mocking” us anymore about the island! xD Non-members will get to play starting January 16, 2014. Also, I was hoping for someone to write the guide with me – anyone is welcome to help contribute!

Mocktropica Island will continue the trend of showing where you rank with other island finishers with the World Champions map. PHB reader Nameless UnDEFiNeD told us about a little error on the Mocktropica Tour page – if you look down at the bottom of the map, it says Virus Hunter instead!

In other news, Gamer Guy was fired from the Creators’ Blog because of his bad grammar and his promoting of a “competing” website. Crawfish actually thinks Mega Fighting Bots is taking players away! Wow Poptropica, I never thought they could have more players than you, you have like 500,000,000 players!

Anyway, that it Poptropicans! Stay cool! I know I will! TI out!

You may of heard in my last post that Gamer Guy was now an intern for Poptropica. Now, he made this post, which had even worse grammar than last time….He said Mega Fighting Bots is not for noobs, like seriously man! What’s wrong with being a noob? xD

In addition, HPuterpop, one of the PHB authors, found some useful info about “Gamer Guy”. His real name is Abe, which can be found inside the Bakery on Ghost Story Island!

I’ve been poking around a bit, connecting some dots, and here’s what I’ve come up with:

1. Gamer Guy’s real name is Abe.

Don’t believe me?  Check inside the bakery on Ghost Story island.  It’s a nice trivia, I thought.

2. Joe Puddy has visited Super Power Island.

This one is only logical.  Zomberry Island has a lot of subways, right?  In the subway on Super Power Island, under the stairs you will find “Joe was here” written on the walls.

3. You have never been here, but have tried to get here before, maybe when you were younger:

I’m not going to tell you where I am, but when you figure it out, you’re going to flip.  Guess in the comments!

4. Betty Jetty is Ned Noodlehead’s sister.

This may be known by some, but not to others.  It came from the Poptropica Nintendo game, which I will be posting a review about soon.

5. Dr. Hare was created by Shark Boy as an arch enemy to a carrot super hero.

Pretty kewl stuff.

6. Balloon Boy is actually based off of a real incident.

It’s true!  Craziness is the world we live in. xD

7. There is a site for the Mews Foundation (from Cryptids Island).

This may not be a surprise to everyone, but there is a site made by Poptropica, pretty silly stuff.

8. Poptropica Toys are not listed on the Poptropica Shop!

I’m serious! None on the main homepage, even when you click View All. Start buying these babies off of Ebay, peoples, before they disappear forever! They can, however, be found on the Poptropica Toys page.

9. Islands used to have a rating next to it on the map; it would say “hard”, “medium”, or “easy”.

It was a nice feature; I actually thought it was helpful… nothing else to say about it. 😛

10. Islands can be selected via the Tab and Enter key.

One instance of keyboard input that effects the game.  I wonder what else can be done with the keys… ❓
