Welcome to Early Poptropica Island, Poptropica’s first settlement.

early pop

Head all the way right, passing the sign that says “Early Poptropica.” Talk to all the 8-bit pilgrims in the area to get the scoop: a pig, bucket, and flag have been lost, and it’s up to you to recover them all and save the day.

Go over to the well by the man who lost a bucket, and go down the rope.

Well

Keep going down and you’ll be in the Storage Cavern. Move a little to the left, and jump downward to the left side, where you’ll land on a green platform.

Now jump to another green platform on the top left side of the platform you are on. Move a bit to the left, then jump to the brown platform located on the left side of the platform you are currently standing on.

Climb up the rope on the brown platform, then jump onto another brown platform located to the right of the rope you are holding. Now jump up to the platform above you, and grab the Glow Stick!

Glow stick

Trace your steps back and exit the Storage Cavern.

Prized Porker

Head left back to Main Street and look for the manhole on the ground beside the Soda Pop Shop. Go down.

Climb down the rope to enter the pit. Make your way down to the bottom-right corner, careful to avoid the purple spiders that can knock you over.

ep1

In that corner, guarded by a giant spider, is the Prized Porker. Grab your prize and stay put for the next step: the golden egg.

pig1

From the bottom of the pit (where the pig was), go all the way to the left and keep going, past the tunnel, and into a dark room. Using your glow stick to see, start at the spot that says ‘Darkness Awaits.’

Now go all the way to the left until you see the first rope. Climb up the rope until you reach a place where you have to go either left or right.

Go right until you pass by two ropes. Climb the second rope at the dead end, and go left until you see another rope. Climb that rope. The words on the wall should say ‘Getting Warmer.’

Once you are up that rope, go left and grab the Golden Egg.

Now go right, past the ‘Getting Warmer’ sign, and climb up some ropes. You’ll soon find your way to the top where you can exit to the Poptropica Towers.

At Poptropica Towers, you’ll want to make your way to the top of the blue building in the far left. But first, a pro tip: you can get a hidden, optional Hypnotic costume in one of the green building windows!

getHypnoCostume

Anyway, keep jumping left on window ledges, the stone statue, and building roofs until you reach the blue building with a little restaurant setup on the roof. Go up the vine in between the tables.

Water Bucket

Climb up the vine again, and now you should be in the skies. Go all the way to the right until you see a huge pair of feet.

Click on them to talk to the giant. Give him the Golden Egg and he will lift up his spiky weapon to let you pass.

giant

Now go right, and right again, until you see the gardening shovel. Walk on it as if it were a ramp and you should soon be doing the same to a vine. Now jump off of the vine, and you’ll land on some gigantic vegetables.

bucket1

Jump off of the vegetables and pick up the Water Bucket.

bucket2

Signal Flag

Now go to the right, and right again to the Aircraft Graveyard. Keep going right and grab the Jet Pack on the yellow table. You can wear this item to fly! (This item can only be worn on Early Poptropica Island.)

Put it on and return to the Giant’s Garden on the left. Now you can fly over the shovel to get to the hole in the clouds marked ‘Exit.’ Go down.

exit

You’ll land on top of the water tower on Main Street, and behold… you can now reach the Signal Flag! Take it back to Early Poptropica.

At Early Poptropica, talk to the 8-bit pilgrims who had mentioned losing items, and one by one you’ll return them all: the prized porker, water bucket, and finally, the signal flag. Now it’s time to claim your reward!

Climb down the rope near the pilgrim with the flag, and go right over to the boat, where another pilgrim awaits. Talk to him and he’ll award you your Early Poptropica Island Medallion, plus credits to spend at the store. Congrats!

Trivia

  • Early Poptropica Island is Poptropica’s 1st island. It was the pilot island released when Poptropica first opened in September 2007.
  • Common rooms: This is the only island with two multiplayer rooms, the Soda Pop Shop and Arcade. The Arcade only appears when there are no advertisement buildings.
  • There is a hidden Hypnotic Costume within the green building of Poptropica Towers. To learn more about this easter egg, check out our Glitching page.
  • The sign in Early Poptropica says that the settlement was established (Est.) 1982, though Poptropica was only released in 2007.
  • You can change your skin color with the pigment balloons at Poptropica Towers.
  • The 8-bit pilgrims are a reference to the pixel art style of early video games, and the pilgrim settlers of the United States of America.
  • Early Poptropica Island used to be the only island without a logo, until the first revamp of the official Island Tour pages. The words Early Poptropica were written on the Map with Poptropica’s title font, Ghostkid AOE.
  • This is considered one of the easiest islands to complete, along with Shark Tooth Island.
  • The Purple Giant is a reference to the giant from Jack and the Beanstalk.
  • The Pop Art Museum on Main Street features the characters and works of artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent van Gogh, and Georges Seurat. The museum is also visited during the Counterfeit Island quest. Its name does not quite fit with the exhibit, which does not contain any works from the pop art movement.

Quick Guide

Note: For a more in-depth guide, scroll up to the Written Walkthrough.

  1. Go all the way right to the Early Poptropica settlement and talk to the three pixellated men who will tell you that their pig, bucket, and flag is missing.
  2. Go down the well next to the man who lost his bucket. Get the Glow Stick from this Storage Cavern.
  3. Go back to Main Street and down the manhole in front of the Soda Pop Shop. Inside the Pit, go down and grab the Prized Porker. Still in the Pit, go left and you’ll be in the Dark Room.
  4. Use your Glow Stick to help you navigate the area until you obtain the Golden Egg. Then go back to Main Street.
  5. Go left to Poptropica Towers. Jump up to the top of the blue building and climb up the vine until you reach the skies.
  6. Run right until you see the Purple Giant’s feet. Talk to the giant to give him the Golden Egg, and he will let you continue right. Jump off the vegetables in the Giant’s Garden and pick up the pixellated Water Bucket.
  7. Continue right to the Aircraft Graveyard and grab the Jet Pack on the yellow table. Put it on and go back to Main Street. Fly up to the top of the gray water tower and grab the Signal Flag.
  8. Go back to Early Poptropica and return each of the items to the person who had lost them. When you return the Signal Flag at the end, a boat will arrive. Talk to the pixellated man on the boat to receive your reward. Congratulations!

    1. This is so weird. I finished it for the first time but haven’t received a medal or any credits. Not only that but I went on a different adventure and got my jetpack, which I could still use. To add to the strangeness I’m carrying a smoke bomb from around three adventures ago (arabian nights).

slantedfish: That’s odd – I’d contact Poptropica support so they can fix the glitch and help you out.

    2. This is so helpful. Thanks very much. I got stuck at the Getting Warmer sign, and it was creepy, but pretty cool. THANKS SO MUCH Poptropica Help.

  1. What do you mean by that Sally Dengyts? If you’re wondering how I made this page, I made it to help others do the Early Poptropica quest. I’m the blog’s administrator, and I have access to creating pages (and posts) on this blog. Because I wanted to help others do the Early Poptropica quest, I made this page. Does that answer your question? 🙂

    1. thx a lawt! scary tomato, u saved me… cause of u< i completed the haunted house, and two other islands!!! keep postin scary tomato!!!

    2. Hi! I ma Esther and I am trying to make a blog just like you. Can you give me some advice or something soon??? I will thank you a lot. 🙂

    1. Scary Tomato, do you know why you can’t use the jetpack on other islands?

Slanted Fish: It could give an unfair advantage in some parts of other island quests, so it’s not allowed.

  2. Wild Starfish – No, WordPress is free, but you can pay money for upgrades, like removing the word “wordpress” from the URL of your blog. 😛

Anyway, let’s not be off topic, ok? 😉

    1. thanks brave tomato. big help. i completed ghost story and some others with your help.send me you’r username.let’s be friends. big help thanks 😛

  3. Beat the island thax Scary Tomato!!!!!!!!!!!

    Thx Scary tomato!!!!! 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
    😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

    1. This was posted a LONG time ago, but ‘roryccool’, she probably knows a lot of things out of Poptropica and really likes Poptropica, since she made a successful blog about it.. (even though it originally started because of her love of Club Penguin..) and ‘Chilly Wolf’, I’m not sure how it’s rude because he/she was just asking a question.. She might or she might not. :shrugs:

Oh and thanks a lot – I’m using the pictures for my blog (of course with permission, and credit as a link!) He he he 😀

  4. hey Scary Tomato!!! Can you ever see the Purple Giant’s face when your in the skies??

Scary Tomato: Not that I know of. I’ve tried to fly up there, but it only goes up to his legs.

  5. this is cool your cool for helping me!
    how do you now cheats?

Scary Tomato: Thanks, I’m glad it helped you. They’re not really cheats … it’s instructions for completing the quest. I just talk to the Poptropica characters, obtain items, explore places, and try to see what I have to do to solve the problems of the island.

  6. my favorite items there are the jetpack it sooooooooooo
    cool

Scary Tomato: Me too! However it is not needed to put so many “o”‘s in your “so”. I have deleted most of your o’s. 😉

  7. I hate my jetpack
Know why? It takes away the things onmy back eg.bat wings

Scary Tomato: You can just choose not to wear your jet pack as much. 😉

  8. I didn’t know there was a quset for eriey
    poptropica

Scary Tomato: There is. There’s a quest for every island, in fact. 😉

  9. scary tomato. when ur in the cave( for the pig and the egg) after u find the egg, u dont hv to go all the way back. u can just climb up until you see a rope and then u climb the rope and u r in the towers

Scary Tomato: Really? Cool – thanks for the information!

    1. scary tomato i found somthing else whenyour in the air on early pop. if you go over the veggies in the garden and then ove the shovel and go down the hole by the shovel and you fall onto the flag

    2. That’s actually true! And also, with the jet pack , flying up the tower is only one option, you can fly over the shovel and go down the hole and you will be on the tower right next to the flag.

  10. Hi! I can’t see the ship and I have returned the pig, water and flag. The flag is on the pole but not raised, and when I have my jetpack on and go to the far right, when I go up I appear to be standing on the air! Help?

Scary Tomato: If you’re in the air of the far right of Early Poptropica, you must be in the space above the ship. Release the left mouse button to stop flying and you’ll land on the ship. 😉

  11. do we have to do it in this freak’in confusing order?

Scary Tomato: No, but if you’re going to use this guide it’s recommended that you go in order, otherwise you will get confused. 😉

    1. I really love these because without them, all I will do is play around on the islands. Especially 24 Carrot island. All that I used to do there was go to “Carrot King Diner” and change my hair color a bazillion times.

  12. AJ goes to my church and he told me how to defeat every island so i am waiting for big nate and am bored. THX!!!!!!!!!!

  13. When I go down the well the glow stick isn’t where it’s supposed to be. When I go in the sewer the pig isn’t where it’s supposed to be. Is there something that needs to be done to see them or is this some system issue?

Scary Tomato: You might not be in the right place because they should be there. Try watching a YouTube video for a better picture of it. 😉

  14. I still dont see the boat. I have returned everything (pig, bucket, flag) but still no boat. Did i do something wrong?

Scary Tomato: You should be in the part with the pixellated people, and go all the way to the right until you can’t move any further. You should now be facing the boat. 😀

  15. I just finished all the places! whoohoo! now there’s a new place in Poptropica that’s comin` (Astro-Knights) and I’m sooo exited! thanks for all your help!!!

  16. this is soooooooo much help
i did this without the guide but forgot how to do it all.

    thanks
    XXXXXXXXX*************XXXXXXXXX

  17. My daughter got stuck in the dark room, she is not totally visable to the left of the wall only when squatting, the rope is on the right side of the wall, the arrow will only go right. I can’t figure how to get her out, please help. I have a screencap of where she is stuck if needed.
    Thanks

Scary Tomato: It’s probably a glitch, and unfortunately is impossible to fix (at least for now it is). You’ll have to make a new account, sorry. 😦

  18. Early poptropica was so easy butit took 1hour to win and 30 miutes after using the guide thanks you haved saved 30 miutes P.S I like your blog
    sinserly Angry Foot

  19. It was really easy but I had to do it twice because the dude on the boat didn’t show up. Oh well this helped alot!

    THNX!

  20. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!But you actually only helped me for the medal..ehehe lolz

  21. I liked poptropica.wordpress.com a lot. It has lots of useful info. This article is very professionally written. poptropica.wordpress.com I will be back for sure.

  22. hi thanks for the help on poptropica! it really helped me
so once again i really appriciate ur work~!:) keep up helping people~!:)))

  23. Just a tip, for those of you who say the ship isn’t there. Check your inventory! If you still see the pig or the bucket. go back and wait until it shows the bucket and the pig being transferred. That’s what was wrong with mine! 😛 I couldn’t see the ship either, but that fixed it. :]

  24. Actually you don’t have to climb down the vines and everything. In the Giant’s Garden, near the vegetables, there is a shovel. I tried using my jetpack to fly over that shovel and a hole and a writing called EXIT. Then if you go down that hole you are already on top of the water tower. IT’S TRUE! I TRIED IT!

  25. thanks for the blog, but wat does it matter if people r off topic?

Hijuyo: Each post/page on this blog was designed to talk about a certain aspect of Poptropica (eg. Early Poptropica), and if you go off-topic then the purpose of the discussion would be pointless.

  26. lol this was so easy i diont ven know why u need a guide all i needed waws where to get ur prize

  27. i really like your bog and it helped alot really!! hope i can meet you in Poptropica some time!! my names Magic Heart ^^

  28. Secret: When you’re in Poptropica Towers, go on the green building, go to the window with the orange flower, push the flower off and click on the top-left window and then you’ll get the “Hypnotic Costume”.

  29. if u r jumping on the clothes lines at poptropica towers and u r wearing the jet pack when you are in the air in spinning fly and ull keep spinning! ( but u have to hold the mouse button)

  30. This island is easy. I can finish it in 10 minutes. And the maze is so easy. My record time is 45 sec. Can anyone beat that?

  31. how do you meet the curator from counterfiet island

Slanted Fish: You need to be up to that point on Counterfeit Island. See our guide for more details.

  32. I love your guys’ blog! it’s so helpful!(guessing thats why its called the poptropica help blog)! 😉 I am trying to get all the islands done on a new poptropica account I made, and this is what I will use for help! thanks! 🙂

    -LionEar!

  33. scary tomatoe what is your poptropica username? mine is ejoyb99

Slanted Fish: My Scary Tomato account’s username is tentacle. 🙂

    1. You need to give the signal flag as well, so the guy can have a flag to put up in the first place. Refer to the sections of the guide titled “The Flag” and “Returning the Items” for more details. 🙂

      1. Hi, i have a cheat for non-members. If you go to the poptropica towers jump on the green building and click on the orange flower in the windowstill. youll get the hipnotic costume, which is members only.

    2. just restart because that happened to me once just go to the map and at the bottom there should be a restart button you have to find the pig and bucket again but this time you will beat it 😀

  34. You don’t actually need the jetpack. If you stand on the pumpkin, use a good angle and jump you might just be able to jump over the shovel. It takes a lot of concentration though.

What's popping, Poptropicans?
