ASG gift

Our Avatar Studio Gift is a present to the Poptropica community, containing a compendium of usernames that will allow access to rare (typically uncustomizable) costumes on Poptropica by way of the Avatar Studio Glitch, commonly known as ASG.

How to ASG

👕👉 The ASG can currently be performed using the ASG Machine created by idk. Enter the following into the tool:

  1. the username of the costume you want to clone (a list of usernames is found below — hover with your cursor to see their name),
  2. the username of the account you want to copy the costume onto, and
  3. the password of the account in step 2.

Don’t worry, your login information won’t be stored—it’s simply used to perform the ASG.

Important notes

  • This could also change your character’s gender if your gender is not the same as the ASG account.
  • In the case of the costume appearing on a new unsaved account instead of your own account, try doing this on a different web browser (e.g. Chrome, Firefox).
  • An ASG-able account (for those interested in making their own) must be wearing one of the following: jetpack from Early Poptropica, glider from Time Tangled, bowtie from Spy, or chameleon suit from Spy.

*Rare accounts for ASG are listed below with pictures. Check out the pictures to find something you like, then perform the ASG with the username corresponding to the account pictured to obtain the costume.

  • highSpeed_ASG allows you to run 30% faster on non-SUIs, and adds a cool little blurring motion, but does not work on SUIs (sound-updated islands).
  • WKF_ASG_AN-Princess includes fire hands as seen on the character from Monkey Wrench Island (not pictured in Avatar Studio).
  • PopASG16 can only be ASG’d on a SUI and the costume is not visible on Avatar Studio.
  • idk_customField_ASG – Just use the item card (it’s included with the ASG) and jump. You’ll have a forcefield of green, blue, and black!
  • special_booga_ASG is a special power that summons a bunch of Booga sharks. Like all ASGs, this still changes your costume.
  • idk_suiGlitch_ASG gives your character special glitch eyes (black with white pupils with red crosses). Only works on SUIs.
  • idk_suiGlitch2_ASG gives your character special glitch eyes (black with red pupils). Only works on SUIs.
  • MidasTouchASG turns island NPCs and other players in common rooms gold. To use, click on the action button, then click on a character to give them the gold effect. It doesn’t work on yourself in Haxe.

      1. I unfortunately can’t seem to find a way to do that. Their costumes are not visible on the Avatar Studio and the add-friend-by-username feature was taken out with the profile update. However, if you could send links to pictures of the characters, we could work with that.

  12. I tried copying the cyborg outfit but the body didn’t copy, only the head. Can you fix it please?

    1. It’s patched. it won’t work, unless you go to a Non SUI Island (non sound updated island) but those islands have been removed. sorry for the inconvenience.

  32. Hello! I am depserately trying to finish Astro Knights, so is there a way I could ASG the jetpack item onto me while I am on astroknights? I got the idea when playing Virus Hunter a second time and not needing to get the exercise band because I had the magic carpet from the current Aladdin ad. But I can’t get the carpet to go into the non SUI islands so I need to ASG the jetpack from early poptropica on me?

    1. Oh, there’s a WAY easier way to put the jet pack on! So here’s how:

      Step 1: Open Modify A Poptropican
      Step 2: type your ASG username and password
      Step 3: in the category option, select pack.
      Step 4: For the item ID, type “Jet”

    1. one of these days I’m going to buy a membership, and make ASGs for all the member gifts. On the other hand, If people are making “Pay to get” items free, Poptropica could lose some profit. So I probably will not. 🤔

      1. Yeah, I’d say this dilemma is morally ambiguous, so it’s up to you. For what it’s worth, the PHB has already shared ASGs of supposedly members-only items.

        Also, it could be argued that some people who are here looking for ASGs weren’t going to buy a membership, perhaps because they don’t have the means to do so. So to provide ASGs for member items would allow them to enjoy something they otherwise wouldn’t get to enjoy.

        Another thing to think about is that Poptropica has made some formerly non-member items into member items — so on one hand, the statuses of certain items are kind of arbitrary, but on the other hand, Poptropica is trying to maintain exclusivity to certain items so as to appeal to players to buy memberships.

  45. Poptropica Unused Outfit

    So I was going though some Poptropica IDa, and I came across an item ID that didn’t look familiar at all, So I tried putting it on with iPop. Turns out, there is an alt color to the entire costume of that guy with the huge backpack. I have made an ASG for it, and if anyone knows what island, ad, or whatever it’s from, please tell me! 😀

  54. If I remember correctly, there used to be an ASG of an unused ninja outfit that kinda looked like the Midnight Red Ninja… what happened to it?

    1. I’m not sure which one you’re referring to exactly, but we do have the Midnight Red Ninja itself listed (username: MashMan_RedNinja). We have also removed some costumes from this page when we get reports that they’re no longer working, so that may be the case here.

      1. It was a dark blue version of the Midnight Red Ninja outfit with yellow lines. I think the avatar was also holding either a flame sword or a green hammer thing.

    2. It was a account called ninjaasg; but it does not work.
      But if you use modifyapoptropican you can enter tninja01 in the item name and select facial and you can obtain it like so. You can also do that for shirt and pants.

  58. Whenever I click the “View Link” button on the Avatar Studio it just takes me to some guy called Vlad the Viking. Regardless of the link I use. (This isn’t related to ASG itself directly, but I just wanna take a pic of my character in the same format as the ASG pictures)

  64. How do I make an ASG? I know it has to have spy bowtie or time tangled wings on? I just don’t see those items on most of the characters so how is that possible? I want to learn.

    1. The jet pack from Early Poptropica also works to make an ASG, and might not show in the Avatar Studio. However, just so you know, the ASG relies on Flash, which is going to be obsolete after 2020.

      With the ASG Machine and Modify A Poptropican tools mentioned on this page, though, you can customize from any account, not just those that were designed to be ASGs. This page just offers a handy collection of accounts to customize from. 🙂

Does anyone know a fix for either of the machines, I used M.A.P once and it worked perfectly and it would tell me at the bottom that it worked after I submitted the info, but now it doesn’t say anything and it just doesn’t do anything, and I attempted using the ASG machine this morning for the first time this week and it said, “Due to excessive use by other users, this page is locked until 7:16 PM. See you later!” and I came back later at 9:05 PM and it displayed the same message, I don’t know why both machines don’t work for me can anyone help? Or recommend advice? 😦

    1. MAP is currently not working, and its creator (Red Lizard) is aware of it and has said that he will fix it when he has some time. Not sure about the ASG Machine, but maybe you can come back to it again later.

    2. No , it is sth like the closet that you can save up to 30 outfits in poptropica . Because ppl can only save limited number of their outfit in the closet in poptropica , so I think I can make an external closet storage for people who wants to store more outfit .

      2. yup exactly , but the outfits data are not saved in poptropica’s server , it will be saved in my webserver’s database , but I have a problem to solve is that , users may need to provide me passwords in order to get access to their closet , so the problem comes here , should I save their poptropica encoded password(actually it is called passhash , it is encoded by MD5 ) or an another one?

      3. I suspect most people won’t be comfortable having their Poptropica password saved on an external site. Maybe you can figure out a way not to store passwords, as tools like MAP don’t store them. Or create separate accounts with passwords to use with your site?

      4. I have found a way to do that without saving ppl’s password but their username . Firstly , the machine will use the username provided to check whether the acc is valid and whether the password is correct .If the login details are correct , the machine will retrieve data by using the username provided from my database and change the outfit that their avatar are wearing . So the website will only store people’s username .

I don’t want them badly, but as an old player with no membership, a lack of new things, and very limited things in the game already done a dozen times, this game isn’t really enjoyable, so I just collect rare and special character parts, until eventually they add something new, or maybe even possibly something enjoyable.
