Hellos & Goodbyes

Please Welcome… Giant Hawk?

Greetings Hawk-tropicans!ย This is Giant Hawk speaking, and I’ve got some pretty exciting news. This news being that I have officially become the PHB’s newest author!

Now, I’m sure not everyone on the blog here knows who I am. But then again, I think that’s what this blog post is for, right? Well, my real name is Joshua (I do prefer it over the nickname Josh), but do call me Giant Hawk, or if you wish, use the abbreviation GH.

If you wish to find me for any reason on Poptropica, my username is Joshuawesome8. If you want to find me across the web, check out my Gravatar, which has links to my Twitter page, my DeviantArt profile, and my user page on the Poptropica Wiki (on which I am an admin).

Also, I think I should mention that I am actually the older twin brother of Ultimate iPad Expert.

More on who I am, though. I am an extremely avid writer. In fact, I’m beginning to send out my written works locally in real life. Poptropica-wise, I also have something super big planned, so be on the lookout early November for the announcement.

Acting is also a super big part of my life – especially when it comes to the often overlooked art of voice over. I am a fan of a lot of professional voice actors, but my two favorites are Dee Bradley Baker and Tara Strong. Go look them up if you want – I’m sure you’ll recognize a lot of their characters.

Entertainment-wise, my favorite shows are Gravity Falls and Steven Universe. I also love Pixar’s movies.

Until next time…

Popspiracy Theories

Blake Pops a Theory: the Fallen Earth Theory

What’s popping, Poptropicans? Yes, it’s me! I’ve been gone for over a month now. Did you miss me? So, for my first post back, I’ve decided to do a theory โ€“ complete with a new graphic!

blake pops a theory

Today’s theory is one made by myself, entitled the Fallen Earth Theory. It actally does kind of play off of the Poptropica Parallel Theory from Episode One. Now, in that episode, I remarked how a mysterious benefactor was the one who gave us the blimp. But who, or what, is our benefactor? The answer?

It’s simple: Our benefactor is our future self from Time Tangled Island.

You see, this is all related to the dimensions theory, as well as a sort of timeline ordeal. You see, I believe that our future self is our benefactor. But Blake, you may say. How can it be him, if we saved the future? It’s simple.

We meddled in time, and the future seen at Time Tangled’s beginning? It was causedย  by us.

This works because of the Butterfly Effect, which states there is a 1 in 10 chance of something messing up due to time travel. So, back to the theory. The future us gives us the blimp, as a way of stopping us from saving the future. But Blake, you may say. Isn’t that a paradox? To which I say:

IT’S A KIDS’ GAME IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE 100% ACCURATE BECAUSE MY MOM SAID SO

But in all due seriousness, what if the reason we’re able to travel to various time periods in Time Tangled Island and various other islands is due to our meddling in time? What if the timeline in which we saved the future was rewritten, due to our own trying to save it in another? Tell me what you think in the comments below!

In other news, I’m planning on starting a monthly sort of mail series! You’ll usually find them, if I ever get around to checking my inbox, at the bottom of my posts. You can email me over at [email protected]! Let’s see those submissions roll in!

Well anyway, that’s it for now! Stay popping, Poptropicans.

Popspiracy Theories, The Missing Link

The Missing Link: A Realization

Hi Gs,

I’m going to explain this theory in a similar order to how it unraveled in my mind – it all started with 24 Carrot Island. Updating the wiki has allowed me toย go through the islands with aย keener eye, creating pages for every character named or unnamed in each island quest. One thing I noticed was something inside the carrot farmer’s house.

There are two pictures, one hanging on the wall and one fallen off. The first is a picture of a carrot, but the second is a picture of a man. I zoomed in on this and found that the man has very similar features to the farmer – however, it seems fairly narcissistic to put upย a picture of solely yourself in your own home. So we can assume that this character shown in the picture is someone else. But who? I say pilgrims from Early Poptropica Island. But how would the farmer be a descendant if the pilgrims are still pixelated and living in their lifestyle in the same time frame?

popRelatives

If we accept that 24 Carrot Island is based in present time, then the pictures not being in color would mean that they are pretty old. This leads me to my second point.

We never actually got confirmation that 24 Carrotย Island was in present time, I just presumed considering it’s relatively similar features – but if you really take into account all the attributes of the island, it would make sense that 24 Carrotย was based inย 1960. The style of the diner is unique to that time frame, and the theater is playing movies such as Night of the Living Carrots. This is a reference to the movie Night of the Living Dead, which came out in 1970.

oldAds

The advertisement on the side of the Factory is reminiscent of ads from that time period.ย And there was a financial crisis followed by a boom in America around this period as well (if you don’t remember, there was a financial crisis on 24 Carrot Island).ย So, what does this mean – other than further supporting my time machine theory? Well, we have a sure time frame for when 24 Carrot Island takes place, which means that the pilgrims of Early Poptropica Island are out of place. Especially if we accept the theory about the farmer being a descendantย of the pilgrims.

So, let’s rethink the Time Tangled incident. On Shark Tooth Island, Professor Pendulum is already on vacation before you solve the time issue. This means that time could have been mixed up on Shark Tooth/Early Poptropica. In fact, it’s proven with the Greek warrior on the top of the Tourist Center.

timetwisted

But how much is mixed up? Well, we can tick off the pilgrims, and even the medicine man (check out this theory to understand what I mean). However, how far can this go?ย What’s the major conflict on Shark Tooth Island? The Great Booga Shark. Now, how would that modern civilization be built with the shark roaming the waters? It simply couldn’t. So let’s take a closer look at one of the temple rooms:

boogaroom

This room has a few things to comment on. The skeleton of a “great beast” ย lies in a small hallway, that connects to a spiked pit. It almost looks like a sacrificial Booga shark room, what with the golden Booga shark statue that’s not seen elsewhere.

If we take a look at the skeleton, there aren’t any distinguishable limbs, and it actually looks a lot like the Great Booga Shark... In fact, it’s almost identical. As for the shark swimming, the watersย were probably much higher at one point, considering the statue’s base is way above the water line.

boogaShark1

But HP, you say: Booga sharks might just be a species of sharks that live near Shark Tooth. Well, that could be the case, but on the drawings on the wall in the trophy room, a shark (the one with the neckband) is prevalent. Also, the fruit bat man‘s wording (the “great beast”) is seemingly provocative of the Great Booga Shark. All in all, I find this theory to be way more fun. ๐Ÿ˜›

I’ll be revisiting the pilgrims and more Early Poptropica weirdness later. ๐Ÿ™‚

PHB Specials, YouTubers

PHB Sunday Special: Revisiting the Islands

Hey guys, my name is Brave Tomato, and I’m here with this little post to self-advertiseย tell you guys, in a quick little post, about my YouTube series, Revisiting the Islands.

Revisiting the Islands is about me, guided only by my memory of the island, revisiting past islands for nostalgia’s sake. Add in some occasional voice acting, some instances of snark, a few raging moments, and a few idiot moments, and there you go- Revisiting the Islands in a nutshell.

So far, I have uploaded videos for the first nine islands in the game: Early Poptropica – Astro-Knights, and I have Counterfeit Island and Reality TV Island finished recording and I’m planning to upload soon.

Below is my YouTube playlist of all my RtI series:

Besides RtI, I’ve also recorded my first impressions with new islands as I play through them for the first time. These are usually uploaded the same day that new island is released. So far, I’ve done first impressions of Spoiler Alert, and then Reign of Omegon – Careful What You Wish For.*

*Please note that with Spoiler Alert, I recorded it with my iPad, I forgot to record Galactic Hot Dogs and Lair of Thieves, and up until after Mystery of the Map, I hadย a really bad microphone from my laptop.

So, here is a link to my Youtube channel, and if you have a YouTube account, subscribe to me if you want! ๐Ÿ™‚

This had been a self-advertisementย report on a YouTube series I’ve been working on.

Poptropica Mystery: Where did the native islanders go?

Hi Gs,

PopMysterySharktoothnatives

This mystery goes all the way back to the very 2nd Island – Shark Tooth Island. On it, you learn a few things about itโ€™s history:

  • Professor Hammerhead discovered the island and itโ€™s ruins years ago. This island was abandoned some time before it was re-inhabited.
  • The native islanders there found how to calm the shark using a special concoction.
  • The Medicine Man will only talk to Native Islanders.

This said, we have some things to consider – primarily about the Medicine Man. Is he a native islander? He wears a grass skirt and will only talk to native islanders, which leads to the presumption that he isโ€ฆ but if he still is there, then where are the rest of the native islanders? Read the rest of the post over on Slippery Raptor’s Blog!
