Fanfic: Zombies, Zombies, ALWAYS ZOMBIES! 🧟 Ep. 8: The Lab Thingy

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Magic Kid. Enjoy!

Greetings! Okay, so last time I kinda maybe went off on a tangent about cake (or start from the very beginning here) and this week I’ll kind of reel my sweet tooth in a notch or two… or eight because we are on episode eight of “Zombies, Zombies, ALWAYS ZOMBIES!!”

Previously, the crew jumped off the blimp in the middle of an insane storm, and now they are on Time Tangled Island! Yay? I use that question mark because of what’s going on there. Oh, no no no, I’m not gonna tell you now, you have to read on to find out.

Over and Out!

ZOMBIES, ZOMBIES, ALWAYS ZOMBIES!

Episode Eight: The Lab Thingy

Toothpick is too happy to be on the ground again, and to be safe, that it takes him a moment to realize what is different about Time Tangled.

He coughs a mouthful of ash out and then looks around.

Toothpick

Hawk? Birdy? Are you guys okay?

Birdy is on top of a pile of rubble trying to untangle herself from the parachute, and Hawk walks out from behind a smashed car.

Birdy

Yep.

Hawk

Yeah.

Icy Stone comes around from a large pile of rubble, covered in white ash, like a ghost.

Icy Stone

Oh, I’m fine, thanks for asking.

And then Toothpick realizes that the rubble and ashes were not a part of Time Tangled. The last time he had been to Time Tangled, it was bright, colorful, and in perfect condition. But now… the Party Time Tower was reduced to clumps of concrete, and half-burnt posters…

Fanfic: Zombies, Zombies, ALWAYS ZOMBIES! 🧟 Ep. 7: Lightning and Thunder (and Cake)

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Magic Kid. Enjoy!

Okay, okay, okay, and we’re back again! (Catch up with the previous chapter here, or start from the beginning here.)

We now know something much more dark and serious is going on, and a new Poptropican has joined the team. They have just escaped from a zombie invasion that paraded the last remaining survivors… and Bosko (I’m so sorry, guys!). But do not fear, because CJ (Shrink Ray Island) gave Jazzy Hawk an idea that could save them all. At least, it could save them all unless the zombies get them first. Prepare for adventure!

Warning: I am not a safety expert (quite the opposite, in fact)! So do not try any of this stuff IRL, because quite frankly, the result will not be satisfactory.

Over and Out!

ZOMBIES, ZOMBIES, ALWAYS ZOMBIES!

Episode Seven: Lightning and Thunder (and Cake)

Going to Time Tangled Island is a piece of cake. That is, if the cake rains hard sprinkles of rain and brings winds.

And if you put the cake in the freezer. And some thunder booms loudly. Oh, and the lightning striking dangerously close to the blimp.

It is not a very pleasant slice of cake, metaphorically speaking. And anyway, I should stop comparing the weather to cake.

Jazzy Hawk

Time Tangled Island should be due south! And anyway, we should be there soon!

Witty Toothpick

I sure do hope soon!

Icy Stone

What do you even want at Time Tangled?

Toothpick glances at Hawk, silently asking if they should share their (well, CJ’s) plan with an outsider.

Hawk isn’t sure. Icy Stone doesn’t exactly give off “I’m A Bad Guy Ready To Turn You To The Zombies” vibes, but doesn’t exactly seem like someone they should trust immediately.

A split second after Icy Stone asked the question, Hawk does the smallest shake of his head, and Toothpick notices.

Toothpick

Oh, well, we need to stop by Leonardo’s Workshop to, uh, pick up some supplies.

If Icy Stone finds this suspicious, she doesn’t show it.

Thunder booms again, louder than before.

Clumsy Bird

Uhhh, we should probably land soon.

Hawk

Oh, what the ocean? We can make it to the island! We can make it!

He says “we can make it” twice as though to will the storm to let them make it. They are now shouting over the rain, which is thundering down and down and then—

Birdy

OW!

A large chunk of hail hits her head.

Birdy (continued)

Hail?! Are you kidding me?!

Hawk is at the wheel keeping it from spinning, drenched.

Hawk

HAIL THE HAIL!

Pick

THAT’S NOT FUNNY RIGHT NOW— OH CRUD!

Icy Stone

What?

Hawk turns around and he sees it too. There is a massive dark gray storm cloud with forks of lighting shooting out of it. And they are heading right towards it.

Birdy

CRICKEY! Down down down!

Hawk is at the wheel, which starts spinning uncontrollably, violently.

Hawk

That’s what I’m trying! Birdy, you get that rope and pull it down. Pick, let the air out of the blimp balloon part thingy. And—

Pick

WHAT?! YOU WANT ME TO DO WHAT?!

Hawk

Just do it, we’re right above Time Tangled, alright?

Birdy pulls the rope, and it turns the motor off. Pick unscrews a secured cap, and slowly the yellow blimp begins to deflate. They’re going down, down, slowly at first, but getting faster and faster.

Toothpick is as pale as the moon.

Hawk grabs some things from the secret compartment and hands one to each person.

Hawk

Parachutes! Get your stuff, put them on! This is our stop!

Toothpick looks on the verge of a nervous collapse.

Icy Stone

What the heck? What are you doing?

Hawk

The storm is too strong… we’ll repair the blimp when we get there, if the blimp is repairable… Everyone got the parachutes on?

They all nod.

Hawk

Okay, only release your parachutes when I say, okay? We can’t release them too high or the storm will blow us away. Ready?

They are 100 feet from the ground.

Toothpick

Ready.

75 feet.

Clumsy Bird

YEAH! LET’S DO THIS!

50 feet.

Icy Stone

Yep. Let’s go.

20 feet.

Hawk
NOW JUMP AND GO!

They all jump off the crashing blimp and open the parachutes just in time. But despite their parachutes, they thunder to the ground, not noticing what is wrong with Time Tangled Island. Not noticing the ashes around them.

And not noticing the helicopter fly over them, a grin flashing through the tinted glass window.

But at least they are safe… for now.

TO BE CONTINUED

(Wasn’t that a piece of cake?)

Fanfic: The Adventures of Det. Anna Gram 🕵️‍♀️ Case Two: Trapped in the Office

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Silver Sword. Enjoy!

(Continued from Adventure One)

Anna heads down to her office, tired, after her first mystery. She hasn’t gone down to the office before, and  can’t wait to go inside.

ANNA: “My office better be goo—”

Anna’s office was not goofy, and this made her last bit of hope for goofiness fade away. It was a normal office in Dullsville. Dull, like everything else.

ANNA: “I should meet some more detectives, and maybe find out about their cases.”

Anna heads down to the next office, which is labeled, “Det. Tiny Axe.”

ANNA (knocking on door): “Tiny Axe? Are you in here?”

Fanfic: It’s the Seriously Good Show 🎪 Prologue

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Serious Heart. Enjoy!

Fireside Chat: Pull up a chair.

Hello! Serious Heart here with the prologue of It’s the Seriously Good Show! In this show, my Poptropican, Serious Heart, after defeating Zeus, is trying to convert the people of Mythology Island to modern times by having a chat show. Both real and fake people will be here. Let’s begin!

It’s the Seriously Good Show
Prologue

The audience was waiting. Serious Heart was panicking. He needed to make a good impression on them. He got dressed in a handsome suit, and prepared. Serious Heart came out from the curtain in the Café at Shark Tooth Island.

“Welcome to the chat show. It’s the Seriously Good Show, where I interview famous and/or smart Poptropicans! Now, I bet you’re all wondering, what are you doing here?”

“Yes!” a woman with fruit on her head shouted.

“Well, you guys are old school. You need to be familiar with modern times. Look, there are more futuristic islands out there. I plan to get you guys some respect,” Serious Heart explained.

A girl named Shoeless Raptor raised her hand. Serious Heart pointed at her. “Yeah?”

“Me and my BFF, Curious Clown, were wondering, why don’t you just hold it on Mythology?”

“Zeus hates me after I defeated him. We’d probably have bad weather, if I chose there,” Serious Heart explained. “Besides, the owner of the café was happy to let us use it! Anyway, I’ll pick Poptropicans that are famous, Poptropicans that are smart, or Poptropicans that are famous and smart! Any more questions?”

Silence. “No? Then we’re going to come back next week. We’ll have our first guest!” Serious Heart said. “Stay tuned!”

अच्छे समय के लिए चीयर्स,
Serious Heart

A Letter to the Poptropica Creators 📝 re: Game and Blog Inactivity

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Anon. Enjoy!

Hi Poptropica Creators,

What’s going on? I know you might have been bothered by this subject, but you haven’t posted on the official blog in four months, since February, despite comments about it from fans on social media.

To be honest, I’ve been really worried sick about you and your game. Many Poptropicans are saying the Pop Creators’ Blog is dead and so is the game. Many are losing interest and walking away. It seems like Poptropica is heading down the same path as MovieStarPlanet, a game that was abandoned by its developers without new updates.

The Pop Creators’ Blog was last updated in February — four months ago!

But I’m not gonna stop playing your game or supporting you guys. I still really love Poptropica. I just think it needs a lot more improvement, and I’d love to help, but it’s hard to know how.

Poptropica has been a major part of my childhood, as well as lots of other people’s childhoods. I’ve even been a guest blogger on the official blog. You’ve talked about bringing back the old islands, and if fans could help, we’d love to — particularly for all the old-school islands like Early Pop and the original Reality TV that didn’t make it to the Steam bundle.

If we could play these classics again, people would come back to the game. And I still have that hope that things can get better.

Nessie?: Hard to make out those shapes in the water…

So I wonder and I ask, will you really bring the classic islands back? How about other popular features now lost, such as the Multiverse or common rooms on every island? And is there any way fans can help, whether with programming, remembering, or just general support?

Thank you for reading, have a great summer, and hope to hear from you soon…
