Behind the Name: Samwow5

Hello everyone! Recently, I saw a post HP did about his name, and I thought well, I have a pretty unique story of my name too. So I asked HP if I can make a post about this, and he’s like sure, so here it is everyone! When I started playing Poptropica, I was using my brother’s account for a year, and it all started when I made an account with the user called Samwow5……

In 2010-2011 they had this commercial on TV called the “Shamwow Towel” It will clean anything food stain or spilt mess up. My parents made fun of it saying “Samwow the Great” xD, Then after a month or two, I thought about making a Poptropica account with the name “Samwow”. I went to Poptropica and the name Samwow wasn’t available to use, so I picked 5 (because it was one of my favorite numbers, and still is today) Then I put 5 after Samwow and I got Samwow5!

In the name section, I was picking a name like “Fast Lightning” or something, and I was about to click save and my computer shut off for some reason. I don’t know if it was fate or something, but the first name that popped up after that was “Tough Icicle”. It was the perfect match, I loved that name so I saved it and started playing Poptropica on that account, and soon after that I started blogging….. 😀

Hey everyone! The Creators posted earlier saying the Dream Island entries to choose from are now narrowed down to fifty! I entered, and I don’t know about you, but I’m really hoping mine is chosen as the winner! xD After all, only one will be turned into reality…

In other news, from now until early March, we’ll be accepting entries for the next Poptropican’s 911 issue! Check out our Magazines page to see past issues, what kind of submissions we’re looking for, and how you can have your creative Poptropica fan work seen by others. Hey everyone! Today is the day you will be blown away! It’s the day you all have been waiting for! Ok, ok, I’ll stop stalling now. xD The next issue is out! It will have 5 stories for you to munch on, tons of art and fashion and also more of HP’s sneak peeks that are sure to blow your mind away! There’s just so much inside, and we hope you like every bit of it.

Poptropican’s 911 update: the release date and more!

Hello everyone! I wanted to say we are getting so many submissions and they are great, Thank you! Also, the release date for the next issue of the magazine is January 11, 2014 (and we’ll be releasing every two months after that)! The deadline to send in submissions for this issue is January 9, 2014 at 11:59PM CST.

We would love to receive more entries for Island Ideas (what kind of islands would you like to see on Pop?), Fan Art (drawings, poems, comics, etc!), and Fashion (send us some Multiverse or common room pics to show what the current trends are!). Think of your ideas and send them in! You never know, you might make the magazine!

Hello everyone! HPuterpup and I are reviving the PHB’s Poptropican’s 911 magazine series! It will be posted every 2 months on the 2nd week of the month, and we would love to include your artwork, stories, etc.! Here’s what the 911s may contain (note the bolded parts for reader submissions!):

  • Ask PHB: readers can ask questions about Poptropica via e-mail to the 911 staff, and we’ll select about 3 of them to publish per month
  • Competitions & Multiverse parties (occasional)
  • Stories: readers can submit their own Poptropica fanfiction/short stories
  • Island Ideas: readers submit their own ideas for islands they would like to see in the game
  • Easter Eggs: Poptropica tricks & secrets that maybe you didn’t know about, including new sneak peeks from HP
  • Fashion: What costumes and clothing styles are trending on Poptropica? Send in your costume or some Multiverse/common room pics of the latest trends!
  • Fan Art: reader submissions of Poptropica-themed poems, comics, drawings, puzzles, computer graphics, songs, or other creative work

Please send all submissions via email to [email protected], and we will do our best to accommodate your entry or entries into our magazine issues! To browse through the Poptropican’s 911s of the past, check out our Magazines page! As this is a community-based project, your participation counts in making this the best it can be.
