Sneak Peeks

House party

This week, we’ve shown you four different sketches of mansions. But only one will be able to make it into a new Poptropica Island. It’s so hard to decide which it should be. Let’s take another look:

Mansion 1
Mansion 2
Mansion 3
Mansion 4
Decisions, decisions…

Which one do you like the best? Vote in our poll on the sidebar!

Poptropica Tips and Tricks: Advanced mech piloting

Piloting the mech around Steamworks Island is tons of fun! It also presents its own challenges, especially because of its size. Did you know that the mech can crouch, just as your Poptropican can?

This can be helpful in many situations, especially against the Bolas plant.

See? Duck, and the seed pods will sail safely over your head!

You can still use your weapon attachments from a crouching position.

Of course, when you’re ducking, you can only aim downhill.

What other neat things have you found to do with the mech?

Well well well, it looks like we get to see things going splat! Honestly, I’m not ready for a new island, I still have Skullduggery to finish. 😀

Steamworks Island, Website Updates

Wheewhoot! I’m back from my vacation and had a mildly good time…. Knotts was amazing… I got some sketchbooks… And came home to a happy happy happy puppy dog. x3

(For anyone who gets the farewell message, kutos to you!)

Hobey ho, lets go.

*Hijuyo interrupts* That deserves a PARTAAYYY! Welcome back, Tsuki~!

Steamworks premiere party!

Poptropica Members have been having a blast on Steamworks Island. Besides trying to solve the mystery of what happened to the Island’s inhabitants, Poptropicans have also been spending a lot of time at the Steamworks Gear Shop — that’s this island’s common room.

It’s been fun to see Poptropica Members hanging out on a new Island, with all the zany combinations of costumes and items they can imagine. Check out this motley crew!

I dropped by, too, but nobody told me there was a dress code! I felt out of place not wearing a Mech Pilot costume.

Always a wallflower…

Keep an eye out for the Poptropica Creators in the Steamworks Island common room. Maybe we’ll see you there!

Yup, and maybe a Poptropica Creator will be nice enough to party with the PHB people. 🙂

Steamworks Island

Details, I detest them

Details, details…

The Hub on Steamworks Island continues to evolve. Now, all of the elements are colored in, and we’ve added some detail to try to tell the story of the island.

This version of the Hub is overgrown with vines and weeds. The wobbly angles of its structure are making it look like the whole thing could topple at any moment. And, of course, there’s now a sign telling everybody where they are.

Almost done!

Ffufufuufu. Hub bub blub. There’s a blue square dude! O:

They even show some animations! o.o

On another note~ I’ll be on vacation for 3 weeks and I will be unable to post. So I notified Hijuyo telling her that I would take Thursday’s post.

>:c My post. No edity. >:c

Poptropica Store, Sneak Peeks, Steamworks Island

Like ah said, this plant is gonna eat chu.

Plant monster, attack!

We’ve got a pretty scary looking monster at this point, but what good is a monster if it can’t attack? This monster can swing its seed pods around from its head, before throwing them at you at high speed.

Looks like you’re pretty small next to this thing, doesn’t it? That’s not all — we haven’t even seen the plant monster in motion yet.

That happened a couple of days ago. ITS A PLANT.

Run. Run for your lives~

And then look! A summery post. This must be Shark Boy’s bestie!

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water…

I hope everyone is having a fun summer, while they squish red crabs on the beach. If you want to surprise your friends, try out the Hammerhead costume. It comes with a warm, limp fish.

Or it’s Shark Boy’s alter ego….

And then, the creators go and post something, WITH NO ANIMATION. D8<

Steamworks monster animation test

Now that the we’ve decided what this plant monster should look like on the new Poptropica Island, Steamworks Island, the next step is to decide how the monster should move. We put together a quick and dirty animation test:

Bet you wouldn’t want to run into that thing in a dark alley!

All this has taken us nearly to the completion of a plant monster for Steamworks Island. We may still decide to change the monter’s behavior, or some aspects of its appearance. After a few final touches, we’ll put it all together — but you’ll have to wait until Steamworks Island launches to see it!

Hmph. Darn you creators. ._.

EDIT: “Lol, they didn’t embed it correctly. :P Anyways, I found the file lol. It’s really cool.
-Giant Fire”

On a comment on this post, this appeared before my big eyes. Giant Fire found the awesome animation!

Big congrats and so on ect.

Thankiez as well!
