Howdy, Poptropicans! Our first bit of news is that the PHB’s Mythology Island Guide for the remastered version of the adventure on Haxe is now up! It’s got helpful pics to walk you through the retouched island.
You can still find our old guide, with all the parts that don’t exist in the new version, by visiting the separate Mythology Island Guide (Classic).
Another week has gone by and that means another routine Pop store update!
Some items are still lingering around from last week, but there are some cool new costumes, powers, etc. that have been added as well. (items marked with a * are members only) This week’s rotation is:
- Costumes: Chillin’ Chills, Neon Rockstar, Pretty Tough, Boho Beauty, Student Wizard, Apprentice Wizard, Dark Wizard, Wicked Wizard, Retro Robot, and Robin Hood
- Powers: Magic Cloud Rider* and Levitation Spell Book
- Miscellaneous: Cat Mug
Note: Some players have reported not being able to buy the wizard costumes. Hope the Pop creators fix this bug soon!
Of all of the newly added items, only one — count ’em, one— is members-only! That’s pretty neat news for the majority of players. When we take the familiar items into account, 12 of 48 (25%) of the entire stock are members-exclusive. Hm, that’s not too bad either! That’s actually much better than what we’ve seen in the past, so thanks Poptropica.

I’m unable to purchase the Student Wizard, Apprentice Wizard, or Dark Wizard costumes. Is anybody else experiencing this glitch?
Yes I do and others do as well
For some reason I got these costumes for free just by playing, so I don’t know.
Totally not Harry Potter, am I right?
I think some of the outfits are like the Harry Potter characters dress-up years ago
The wizard costumes first appeared in the pop store when Home Island received a wizard-themed makeover. I think some people over at the Poptropica Club Discord server mentioned that the makeover was tied to a Harry Potter product (a game or an app, I believe). Oddly neither the creators or the game said anything about Harry Potter being related to the wizard makeover of Home Island, or the wizard costumes they took design inspiration from, so I’m not sure how official that is. 🧙♂️

Wait do you mean there’s a store update every week? I thought it was monthly?
Yeah, Poptropica’s store updates don’t always follow a strict schedule. The game can’t decide whether to fully commit to updating weekly or monthly, so it can be tricky to know when exactly new items appear in the pop store.
I hope they start making weekly store updates I’d be much more interested in this game, I mean they definitely do have enough items to make weekly updates considering before the inventory format display change, I had over 40 pages of store items but now, after they took away tons of items from me and put them behind a membership paywall I doubt I’d have 10 pages of store items
I had fun flying around in the common arcade with the Cloud rider!!!!
For the people who can’t seem to buy the wizards items, the fix is, you have to try using the format loader and try using flash and then try using Haxe, one of them is going to work for you, it’s usually Haxe, but it was different when I tried it with another account so I guess it’s all different, but one of them is going to work for you and then you can switch back to whatever you play poptropica on and the items will still be in your inventory.
