PoptropiCon comes to Paradise, and social media shout-outs

Hey, Poptropicans! This is Gentle Dolphin with the latest Pop news! Today, we’ll be continuing our Paradise Island escapades and checking out some cool fan content.

Previously on Paradise Island, we rocked out during a talent show, got some free tacos, and saw a teaser for an upcoming PoptropiCon festival. A PoptropiCon-themed event sounds interesting, so what’s it like? Well…

To visit the “festival,” you can either click the “Go there now!” button on your phone or talk to the Cheetah Bandit on Paradise Island. No matter your method, you will be taken directly to PoptropiCon Island. From there, it’s an island quest we’ve seen before.

Among all the beach parties and island decorating, it’s definitely interesting to see a task which involves completing an island. Maybe we’ll see more tasks like this as more islands get ported from Flash to Haxe? Anyway, if you need help figuring out this “festival,” check out our PoptropiCon Island Guide!

In the past couple of days, Poptropica has been putting the spotlight on several fan creators, showcasing some of the awesome stuff made by the Poptropica fandom. Let’s take a look!

On Instagram, the Pop Creators added two new stories. The first story featured a relatable tweet from @snarkeigh, and the second story featured a drawing of rapper Cardi B as a Poptropican by @artesian.amee.

The Creators’ Blog featured a video by YouTuber itslucindasworld. Lucinda, who was once a big fan of Poptropica, revisits the game 10 years later (!!) to play some islands and see what has changed. Watch her joy as she explores 24 Carrot Island, as well as her confusion as she encounters membership paywalls.

Speaking of YouTube, Poptropica Month is still going strong, with fans creating videos to celebrate Poptropica’s 13th birthday. Poptropica put a spotlight on the event last week, and now they’re commenting on many of the videos! (Thanks to JamelleisNinja, TheOrangeHe, GEAR, and MaryannTheConqueror for screenshots.)

A lot of these comments are really nice and supportive of the fans and their work. One comment even mentions that the Creators will make sure the old islands can still be played after Flash’s discontinuation, so there’s that to look forward to! It’s great seeing Poptropica interacting with fans again, whether by commenting or sharing their stuff. Let’s hope they keep sharing more!

That’s all for now. If you make Poptropica content, make sure to tag Poptropica so they can see your work — you might possibly be featured next! 😉 Also, check out the Poptropica Month playlist to keep up with all the pop-tastic videos in this September event, and read more about joining Pop Month in this PHB post.

Thank you for reading, and have a good day!

      1. With WordPress.com, which is the platform we’ve been using since this blog began, you can pick from a selection of premade themes and then customize parts of it (things like header image if there is one, fonts, etc). So there is some creative freedom but also some limitation.

  1. When I try to buy a member item from the pop store it directs me to the buy membership page. I think your membership will expire a week earlier than its expiration date. I think my membership expired this week 💔

    1. And when I try to change my profile look it says that I have to be a member in order to get access for stickers and the background 💔

  2. I did report the bug today but when I went to settings of my Poptropica account it says that my membership is cancelled and expired on September 8 I thought it was the 18th.
