Why do Poptropicans change their look so much?
This is a question I get a lot on sites like Quora, which is a question asking-and-answering website I discovered recently. Anyway, I’ve wondered about this question myself. I’m not one to frequently change my appearance in-game, but when I do change it, I look back on how I looked before, and I think to myself:
“Wow, did I REALLY look that bad?”
And that is why I believe we like to change our avatars around so much. We see something that looks better in our eyes, so we feel like changing to it. But that doesn’t mean we have to change.
I don’t change my character on the game very much for two reasons:
- because I am content with what I have.
- because the items I own took a lot of effort to collect them all in just the way I like it, even though I got most of them through the PHB’s Avatar Studio Gift.
My recommendation? Be content with what you have! So many people are always anxious about how they look, and in this game, it’s no different. Look, I’m
not saying you shouldn’t be open to change. I don’t want you to get bored with your avatar.
I always try to achieve the point of perfection with how I look. When I see someone else with a cool skin tone on Poptropica, I don’t covet it. I think, “Oh wow, that looks really cool, but I’m content with my own.”
If I do want to change, it’s never a big change. I might change my beard style a little here, or change my eyes a little there. But I try to have a standard recognizable avatar, like Thinknoodles, the YouTube gamer known for his Poptropica walkthrough videos, among others. He almost never changes his avatar, and it looks pretty cool.

I also never change mine, but I’m lazy. XD
I Guess it has something to do with time. I remember playing as an 8 year old I dressed up in very mix-and-match outfits with a combination from outfits from the store and from islands. Now I’m a lot older and I could never imagine putting my avatar in those outfits, so I can say that my style has definitely changed!
Yep. People’s tastes change as they get older. It is very unlikely that someone won’t ever change looks in the game.
Anyone got any more suggestions for a future post I could do? Next week’s post will be about THE top 5 things you can do after you’ve “beaten” Poptropica! Hope you’re all looking forward to it!
Gabren… I can answer this question! The reason why most Poptropicans change there look so much is because most Poptropicans including me not do have a signature look and change it all the time. Like for some Poptropicans. it is always better to have a signature look so you know for sure that it is them. But others mainly like changing it often not because they want to have a perfect costume but to just change it for fun. Like if you know what I mean sometimes they like wearing lots of different outfits not caring how bad or good they look.
That is an amazing answer, TALLMELONISCOOL. I do have a signature look, but I agree that most don’t.

This was an interesting read. Personally, I think having a signature costume is nice (mine is the well known Fashionisticky Clown), but also branching out and changing it up from time to time is exciting. My closet is full of races, so I have a lot of room to experiment.
I agree, SC. You want to change sometimes, but like I said, changing TOO much in such a short time is confusing, especially if you are well known.

Legendary Swords is this awesome mini quest and Poptropica made the second part only for members. A few years later they let it out for everybody. Now, if you read Poptropica’s new post, they brought it back after removing it from the Pop store, but for MEMBERS.
I am aware of all that, but what I don’t understand is why you “choked” after reading my post.
Its’s basically a thing where you drink a cup of water and you see something you didn’t expect, you start to cough up.
Similar when you see something you didn’t expect, you go “WAOH! WHAT?!”
