More Monkeys, MotM, Mammals

Heyyo Poptropicans, it’s Ultimate iPad Expert here with a post that’s not PMFM!

WHAAAAAAT

There’s a lot to cover, so let’s get started, shall we?

You may recall, last Thursday when the Creators released a special Night Watch Island-themed monkey follower. Well, the Creators hinted at more of these, which we have some sneak peek images of.

I really like this idea the Creators are going with. I’m hoping to see a monkey for every island, that’d be super cool, in my opinion.

Tune in during the next few days and weeks for news on when more of these are available.

In other news, with their new “Mystery of the Map” graphic novel recently released, the Creators are holding a few publicity events in the Greater Boston area.

MotMGraphicCover

Mystery of the Map illustrator, Kory Merritt, will be at the three events to talk about his illustration and animation experience and more. Dates, times, and locations are below, in case you’d like to go to any of them:

March 11, 4:30 PM – Blue Bunny Books & Toys
(111 South Street, Plainville, MA 02762)

March 10, 4:00 PM – An Unlikely Story
(577 High Street, Dedham, MA 02026)

March 12, 4:00 PM – Barnes and Noble at the Prudential Center
(800 Boylston Street, Suite 179, Boston, MA 02199)

In similar MotM-related news, the Creators are going to be holding a Q&A on their Periscope for their new Mystery of the Map graphic novel. As a part of this, they’re asking the community for questions to ask Poptropica creator Jeff Kinney and Mystery of the Map illustrator Kory Merritt!

MotMPeriscopeSweepstakes

People who decide to send in a question are entered into the “Mystery of the Map Sweepstakes.”

The grand prize winner of this sweepstakes will receive an original Poptropica watercolor painting drawn and signed by Mystery of the Map illustrator, Kory Merritt. The grand prize winner will also receive a copy of the Mystery of the Map graphic novel, signed by both Kory Merritt and Jeff Kinney.

So, if you’d like to submit a question for the Q&A, click here! And, of course, tune in this Thursday (March 10) at 3 PM EST to Poptropica’s Periscope to watch Jeff Kinney and Kory Merritt answer questions live!

UPDATE: Poptropica’s very own Skinny Moon (Jessica) add a few extra details on this sweepstakes and on the Q&A, so I’m just going to post her comment here:

Hi everyone! Skinny Moon / Jessica here. I hope you’ll submit questions for Jeff Kinney and Kory Merritt through our sweepstakes that was mentioned in this post. You can enter here: bit.ly/MOTMsweeps.

Once you enter, you’ll see a personalized sharing link you can share with your friends, and the more of your friends enter, the more entries YOU get! Yay! I mean, who doesn’t want a one-of-a-kind Poptropica watercolor by the MOTM illustrator, and a MOTM book signed by Jeff Kinney?!

You can also tweet your question with #MysteryOfTheMap, but that won’t get you entered into the sweeps.

I can’t wait to see your questions! I’ll be conducting the Periscope chat with Kinney and Kory – please tune in this Thursday at 3pm EST! If you are not on Periscope, no worries – you can access the scope via @Poptropica on Twitter. 😀

And lastly, an update on some of the Poptropica ads.
(Thanks to Yujo_Jacy_the_Jumpy_Coyote for both the tips on these and the pics)

The first is for the We Bare Bears ad, it’s currently still a billboard video clip, but there is a different reward, which you can see here:

The other ad is Alvin and the Chipmunks: Road Chip. If you watch the ad video you receive the costume below:

That about sums up the news for this post! What do you think about the island-themed monkeys? Are you going to send in questions for the Q&A? Comment below.

  1. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw my pictures in the post; my face literally tensed up into the meme at the top : Whaaaaaaaaat? ;D
This is about the third or fourth time I’ve been involved partially with a Poptropica Help Blog post, with the other times being pictures of my Poptropican at multiversal events x3 .

The idea with the Monkey Madness event is really clever, and it kind of reminds me of the Island Hopper contest in the sense that it brings attention to old islands. I hope to see more fun little events like this in the future 😀 . I have a feeling the Berry Scary monkey follower will be a fan favorite because it sticks out from the rest; too bad we ran out of Zomberry Antidote 😛 .

    1. Hehe XD Glad to add your pics on! I couldn’t find the ads anyways, so that’s all I had to go with. 😛
Yeh, I’m really liking the monkeys. I’m definitely hoping they’ll go with all the islands. And, definitely looking forward to more of these contests.

      1. I had a problem finding the ads again myself, unfortunately. It was like it was here one minute, and gone the next; I literally lost them within 10 minutes of finding them. All I see now is either the Zootopia Advertisment Building or the Lalaloopsy Advertisement Building. If you think about it, that isn’t reliable advertising; it doesn’t bring attention to it if it is never seen.
If it helps at all, I did manage to take a screenshot of the Alvin 4(Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Roadtrip) Advertisement when I did find it: http://i.imgur.com/8gDYB8K.png .

If they do plan on expanding the Monkey Madness event to more than 6 islands with even more monkeys, or even anything similar to this event, that would be awesome! 😛

      2. Thanks for all the details. 😛 Gonna add the pic to the post, when I’m done typing this comment. 😀
Yeh, I’m hoping we’ll definitely see more monkeys, cause honestly they’re just really cool. 😛

  2. A monkey for every island? That’d be more than 50! Still, it is a cool idea. 😛
Love Charlie the Chocomonkey and Berry Scary Monkey monkeys especially, though.

    1. Thanks for the extra details, Jess! 🙂 I add your comment to the post, in case anyone doesn’t see this comment. Definitely looking forward to the Q&A, hope a lot of people will join in.

    1. Thank HPuterpop, he got the pics. 😛 I’m guessing it probably won’t be, considering they’re going to seemingly be on main streets, and you can go to the CatCF Island main street.

What's popping, Poptropicans?
