I’m doing a very special post for everyone today! Well, the most wonderful time of the year is here, and no, it’s not Christmas – it’s Poptropica’s 8th Birthday!
This year’s celebration is quite different from our traditional one. Remember the pixel Prized Porker we saw last week? As you can guess, it does have something to do with this year’s celebrations! You may have seen this critter hopping across the login screen, for starters.
For the first time ever, Poptropica is going to add a World Champions live map for a classic Poptropica island: Early Poptropica! Not only that, members and non-members can compete against the crown of being a top finisher for the first ever Poptropica island. And if it’s your first time finishing EP, you’ll get 200 credits instead of the typical 150! Isn’t that the best thing ever?
The race is on starting 1pm EST on Tuesday, Sept 15th! If you need a walkthrough, check out our Early Poptropica Island Guide (or our trivia page for a Quick Guide!).
The yearly balloon hunt is now on as well! This year’s prize is different from past years. Once you pop the 8th birthday balloon in common rooms, you will receive the 8-bit Birthday Pixel Pig Power! (What a long name!) Happy hunting!

UPDATE: WOAH GUYS. WOAH. I (Slippery Raptor) just got first place on the Early Poptropica World Champions Map. Best birthday ever? Other PHB authors and friends ranked pretty impressively as well: HPuterpop (Messy Sinker) was #11, UiPE (Yellow Sword) was #6, and his twin brother Giant Hawk finished at #7! Congratulations to all the finishers!

BREAKING NEWS: I facepalmed, realized the party already started, broke school rules, and finished in 56th place. Huzzah! And fourth in CA, which is pretty impressive for me anyways (a lot of people are in sunny ol’ Cali)!

The prize seems to only be working on SUIs (sound-updated islands) at the moment.
If you’re referring to this Thanksgiving picture, remember the pig and pilgrim were actually part of the first island (Early Poptropica), so they were created before that graphic was made. 😉

Not according to the map! If you enter Slip’s username (gabz1113), you’ll see he was the first finisher. There was some recalculation going on at the beginning (perhaps the ranking had started earlier than intended so it reset, or something), so Pixel ended up with 14th instead of 1st – which still is pretty impressive. 🙂
Ah. I was on PHC when Pixel showed me, a few minutes after the map opened. *shrug* Oh well, congrats Slip!

Wow cool and now when you get to Early Poptropica, that person you see first who usually just welcomes you and says if you get lost you’ll find the map or something. That dialogue changed and now she/he says Jump Into the common room to win a prize, complete the island to get ranked.

Timmy Failure island is now out! Too bad I can only play the demo.
I clicked the 8th b-day balloon in the early poptropica common room, i got the prize, but when i checked my store inventory it wasn’t there!!! What happened?!??!
And if you notice, there’s the pixel prized porker running in the login page ( where we sign in in our account, just like there was a monster carnival cart during the release of monster carnival island )
(Or when poptropicans were holding tablets and running in the login page during the release of apps)
