    1. I think it is unfair for the Creators to make something that only MEMBERS can get. I mean they get early island access already what else should they get? Access to well I don’t know.

      Hijuyo: It’s fair – you pay, you get extra awesome stuff; you don’t pay, you can still play the game itself but won’t have the added benefits of membership. Of course, we don’t have to like it. 😛

      1. i think its completely fair. i mean club penguin used to much membership. we cant buy clothes go into certain places or anything. poptropica if u don’t have membership you can do what you used to, you can still buy stuff. just members get a few added bonuses

      2. What about if you can’t afford the membership?

        Hijuyo: Then since you’re not paying the Poptropica Creators, they won’t feed you the extra benefits of the game that come with membership. 😉

      4. I know people wish there was still credit buying early access, but I don’t think there will be ever again…

        Credits allow you to purchase items which will remain in your account to use forever. Early Access to new islands is no longer available to purchase with credits, and is only available with membership.

        That was a quote from the Poptropica Questions thingy.
        I am a member, but if you want Poptropica to stay on, us members and credit payers have to stay. I mean, it costs money to run a site, you know. when membership came out, they might have needed more money. So, to keep membership with good advantages and better things than not having a membership so that they could keep playing, they had the 1 month early access, all gold cards and costumes, and now, only membership available cards. So, that is why it is fair.

      Golden Rider, Hush Up! Your opinion is not one that can help or give others a thing to ponder about, it is simply causing trouble. I don’t think Hijuyo or any other creators enjoy trying to tell you what’s fact over and over. So Poptropica has membership, big deal, it’s a completely fair membership, and if you go to other websites, you will find that Poptropica so far has lots of things for both kinds of players. I’m not buying membership, just because it’s not a big thing in my life.

      1. I totally agree! To say the least, Golden Rider needs to get a head check. I’m not into poptropica enough to actually put a lot of thought to the whole “early access thing,” but I do go on. I just do not see the importance in the matter.

  3. It says it’s going to be the HARDEST island ever. And I thought Astro-Knights and Mythology are super hard…??? Oh boy…new islands are coming out all over the place! Counting this one, that makes FOUR islands in just 2010 so far! Wow!

      In 2009, just 2 new islands opened: Big Nate and Astro-Knights, right? (I think…maybe it was 3. Did Counterfeit open in 2009 or 2010?)

      But in 2010, four islands opened–Counterfeit, Reality TV, Mythology, and now Skullduggery! And it’s not even May yet! Whoa! The Poptropica Creators must have been pretty busy with all those new islands!

      Hijuyo: Counterfeit Island available with early access in 2009, and was released to the public in 2010. 😉

  8. Wow! Wait a second, we need to lay out a poptropica bill of rights! If we let poptropica get away with this it’ll end up just like club penguin! This should be the first right on the list, however anyone commenting on this is welcome to add more:
    1. All opportunities (including the purchase of all items in the store, the playing of all islands, and other gameplay features) are open to ALL all poptropicans.

      1. That means we won’t be able to watch the trailer to Skullduggery Island! Talk about UNFAIR, Creators!!! I am not very happy with this. (Look at the PCB)

      2. I suggest that the creators are only letting members PREVIEW the trailer, about a week or so early. 😉

    2. Well, it’s not that bad since they eventually let us play the islands. Also, not ALL the store items are not purchasable. All it is is dat they get things earlier. Compare with Club Penguin. Club Penguin is the place where you can’t buy clothes without membership. Plus, Poptropica is a game that we’ll forget later in life anyway. :/ You ask me, I like this. The creators become more motivated to make islands for money. Then, more Poptropicans buy membership in order to keep Poptropica running. Therefore,giving us the satisfaction of playing a new island. I mean, last year was worst than this year with membership. We only got to play 2-3 islands at most. 😀 Do I make my point clear?

      1. For the time being it’s okay, but if we don’t speak up, they’ll think it’s okay to restrict things from non-members and it’ll snowball. I admit, it might not be as bad as Club Penguin, but it still could get worse.

    1. One of them is the ability to watch the new trailer for Skullduggery Island. So, Creators, now non-members CAN’T see the new island trailers? That is SO unfair. 😦 Do you think that eventually, non-members will get to watch the trailer? I HOPE so.

      Also, there is a new “author” on the PCB. Supposedly, he’s from Skullduggery and his name is “Captain Crawfish”. Interesting. (At least we know THAT much about Skullduggery Island!)

  14. Mythology Island is just a few days away for non-members!! Unfortunately, Poptropica never loads for me, all I see is the vines just growing and those arrows just keep on spinning. Oh, and I’ve also cleared my cache, and all that cookies and other stuff. Do you guys know why it’s not working? Please help. BTW, Skullduggery island looks amazing 😀

      2. You may be happy with your membership, but you do realize that it’s your parents’ money you’re wasting, right? Besides, we have the freedom of speech to voice our opinions here.

        Killing the Creators wasn’t even mentioned in this post, and besides, anyone with a sense of humor would know it was a joke. (After all, the Creators didn’t sue us for threatening to murder them, now did they?)

        And also, we don’t have to HAVE membership to know what it’s like. It’s a fair system – paying money for added benefits, without affecting too much of the game’s outcome for nonmembers – but we’re just saying we don’t like the idea of spending real money on PIXELS in an online game for kids. The kids don’t even pay the money, the parents have to.

  31. I’ve been reading all the comments and pretty much everyone is right in one way or another. And YES it is true that 2010 was so much better than last year in terms of # of islands. Counterfeit, Reality TV, Mythology all came out to public within a one month period after each.. I think, but I know for sure about reality tv and mythology. So, even if there is membership now, they don’t actually get a lot more features of poptropica than we, as normal members, do. I wouldn’t complain at the rate these islands are coming out at 🙂 but of course, it would be nice if we had no membership.
    Cant wait for Skullduggery Island to come out! And I wonder what island would be after Skullduggery…

  32. I found the best glitch ever. Once you beat Mythology Island, you can use Hades’s Crown and Posiden’s Trident (that you recieve at end) and use the power to your advantage.

    You can use the Crown and Trident on Reality TV island to easily win Coconut Catch.

    1. I haven’t been bothered enough to find out, but what happens when you use the minimizer and hades crown?

      Hijuyo: The Minimizer is a Poptropica Store item (and the name is pretty self-explanatory). Hades’ crown comes from Mythology Island, and you can use it to make your character larger.
