PHB Sunday Special: Mid-Autumn Madness

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival from the PHB! Indulge in lanterns, lights, fruits, and of course, mooncakes! Or, just enjoy another regular Sunday. 😀

What would the super villains do to wreck this holiday? Black Widow might vandalize your beautiful Chinese paintings. Dr. Hare might steal the Moon Rabbit’s carrots and hide them away. You might have to even fly to the moon on your custom spaceship and rescue a princess, or Binary Bard wins. And Captain Crawfish would probably have to go in hiding because who knows, we might be hungry for crawfishy mooncakes.

How many other villain scenarios can you come up with? 😛

The PHB’s written walkthrough for Super Villain Island (with pictures) is now available! Thanks goes to Samwow5 and Cool Bite for their help. You can access it quickly by clicking on the Super Villain Island icon in the sidebar.

We also have a video playlist for SV Island on our YouTube channel, and links to more resources such as a map on our discussion page. The island comes out for everyone on October 18 – only three weeks away. 🙂

In honor of Super Villain Island, the PHB has a new header… with a new slogan! “Poptropica Help Blog: We put the POP in Poptropica.” It’s got a ring to it. 😀 And, if anyone’s wondering, the “POP” is that explosion of excitement you get when you visit the PHB. Yes, don’t deny it. 😉

Wondering how Brave Flame and Young Clown from the top 10 finishers of the new island got those robes? Finishing the members-only bonus quest grants you a reward – in this case, the Dream Guardian costume!

Oh, and remember the DS game Poptropica’s going to be releasing? PHB reader Samwow5 found an article about it in French, and when translated, it mentions that besides the Nintendo DS, they might be considering “other portable gaming devices.” Hmm…

So, you probably know that Super Villain Island came out yesterday. (If you need a guide, click here!) And that means a bunch of members rushing around trying to beat Super Villain Island before anybody else. And, just like always, the Creators have done a post, telling us the first ten people to finish Super Villain Island.

Congratulations to all the Poptropicans who were in the first ten list!  And congratulations to anyone who’s beaten Super Villain Island!  Especially if you’ve beaten the bonus quest.  That thing was really hard.

Haaaave you played Super Villain Island yet? It’s now out for members, so join the millions of other players all trying to log in at the same time and hope that maybe your screen won’t freeze from lag so that you can play Poptropica’s 30th island! 😀

Non-members get to play a demo version of the island for now. The Poptropica Help Blog will have a guide up as soon as possible now has a guide available! We also have a discussion page, with links to the tour page, island extras, and more. Feel free to post comments over there or on this post if you have any questions or if you want to provide some help to others also playing the new island quest. Another great place to do that would be the PHC, where you can get responses from others in real time.

So, what do you think of Super Villain Island? The Creators think it may just be the best one yet! Do you think it lives up to its hype? 🙂

Saving the day… because he’s Super Hot Dog Boy!

If you’ve been around since the early days of the Poptropica Creators’ Blog, maybe you’ll remember this old comic! A cheesy tale of heroism and hot dogs, Super Hot Dog Boy came in 4 parts. It’s so old that even the PHB had only been around for about a month when I first posted about it! Wow. 🙂

Back in the day, these comics were posted by Comic Kid, the PCB alter ego of Super Power Island‘s Ned Noodlehead! This Thursday, however, we get to discover our inner Super Hot Dog Boy by playing Super Villain Island! (Yup, there’s the word “super” again.) So that’s why the Creators decided to repost the comics. 😛
