Survival Ep. 3 (Distress Signal): wallpaper & poster

EDIT: The Creators just posted that Survival: Distress Signal will be released on Friday (a day later) instead of on Thursday! They say they need to fine-tune a few things before it’s ready. Stay tuned to the PHB for more news!

HP’s Edit: The glitches involved with the delay of the release may have something to do with a couple glitches: the first is that Chromebook do not run SUI’s, at all. I recently got a Chromebook, and the SUI screen will not work — a couple other users of Chromebooks report the same problem.

The other glitch is that whenever you are in an SUI tab and you go to another tab, after switching back to it you get a horrible lag that is fixed by either clicking the screen or going to the tab again, then back. These two are annoying and detrimental to the game, and hopefully they will have them fixed soon.

Hey everyone! The Creators just released a couple of images for Survival Ep. 3: Distress Signal! I’ve got to say that these are pretty cool! There’s a Desktop Wallpaper (top) & Printable Poster (bottom).

I guess Fishy was right about the radio tower! Also, looks like a spot has been added for the Survival – Episode 3 medallion, but it’s currently blank:

Just a reminder that Survival Ep.3: Distress Signal will be released to members this Thursday, June 5th! Anyway, I will be writing a guide for the PHB and I hope I finish first in the race to be #1 for completing episode 3! ^_^

Poptropica on social media: Google+ page!

Hey everyone! You know how Poptropica’s Facebook page has resurfaced? Well, I looked on Poptropica’s official Twitter and I saw that they’d tweeted a link to an official Google+ Poptropica page! So I went go check it out, and it’s awesome!

popgoogle

It’s basically the Creator’s Blog, but on G+; the only advantages of G+ is that you can re-post their posts to your own G+, and you can set up your G+ settings to get emails when they make a new post — the downside is that you can’t comment on their posts, similar to the Creator’s Blog.

They have 145 followers so far and the first post was made on the 15th of May (not too long ago). Like the Facebook page, Poptropica’s Google Plus is meant for fans of ages 13 and up, but unlike the Facebook page, you can see the list of people who “have them in circles”, which can lead to personal profiles.

Anyway, don’t forget Survival; Ep.3: Distress Signal is coming out on Thursday! 🙂

Survival Island

And so on Thursday, there will be a new episode of Missio- Survival?

Was I the only one expecting there to be a new Mission Atlantis episode this month? Because of that puffer fish costume the Creators randomly released?

Well, it turns out that Survival: Distress Signal, will be releasing for members this Thursday, June 5th! This probably means that the previous episode, Hook, Line and Sinker, will likely be released on that date too for nonmembers.

In case you don’t know or remember, here’s the description for Distress Signal:

A broken radio. A chance for rescue. Send a distress call if you can, but beware of who might be listening!

This simple description brings a chill up my spine. Beware, beware, beware! It’s always beware! Not “acknowledge”. Not “know that maybe”. “Beware”. This and the revelation of Cabin Fever’s, the next episode after Distress Signal, description is making me worried that my Van Buren/Zaroff theory is coming true. I’m scared of him now. Scared of Myron Van Buren.

BT out with this quick update!

PS: In regards to the post where I was complaining about Poptropica not working for me, it turns out that Internet Explorer was just being mean to Poptropica for some reason. I’m now using Google Chrome and it’s working fine now! ^_^ Thank you guys so much for your help!

Poptropica’s official Facebook page – resurfaced!

Hey Poptropicans – did you know Poptropica has an official Facebook page? It seems to have been around for about for a month now, since their current cover photo was uploaded on April 24th of this year. You can find it at facebook.com/OfficialPoptropica, and as of now, this is what it looks like:

Seems like most people aren’t aware of this, as there were only about 70 likes when I checked, and it’s never been announced on Poptropica’s website! In fact, I’d only found out about it recently from Poptropica’s official Twitter (which also has never been announced officially either)–

According to the ‘about’ description, the page is only for the older audience

Welcome! This official Poptropica® Facebook page is for fans ages 13 and up. Younger fans can find out what’s new at blog.poptropica.com.

The Poptropica Creators have also made use of Facebook’s ‘Timeline‘ feature to mark the launches of all their islands to date, each with its own graphic. They’ve also been linking to all Creators’ Blog posts starting from May 15, 2014.

Interestingly, this is not the first time Poptropica has tried to run its own page on Facebook. Back in 2010, they used to own facebook.com/Poptropica (now defunct), where they’d show unseen sneak peeks that even the Creators’ Blog didn’t post (this was before the Daily Pop) – including this cool sketch of a temple for Mythology Island:

They had some trouble regarding personal information, since fans wouldn’t change their profile icons to their Poptropicans when asked, and since people use their real names on Facebook. A few months later, they closed the page. I’m not sure if that’ll still be a problem with the new page they’re opening 4 years later, but then again, no one has commented on anything thus far, and the list of people who have liked the page is hidden, so no personal info there, at least.

Anyway, if you’re a Poptropican who’s 13 or older and has a Facebook account, be sure to give the Poptropica Creators a like so you can get updates on your news feed! 🙂
