Welcome to Spy Island, dear agent. You’re in for a wild adventure.

Enter the spy headquarters and jump up to the top where the green-and-black screen is. Talk to Director D and get the Decoder Kit from him.

Now, exit and jump to the top of the building. There will be a spy crouched there. Pretty neat, huh?

Using your Decoder Kit, translate the message from Director D. The coded message says, when Dr. Spyglass points to a symbol, choose the one that faces the… “OPPOSITE DIRECTION”.

Dr. Spyglass, Eye Doctor

Go to Dr. Spyglass’s building to the right. Take the eye test, but whatever the doctor points to, choose the “E” that faces the opposite direction. (An “E” facing upwards would mean that you needed to choose an “E” facing downwards.)

If you did it correctly, he will tell you to meet him upstairs.

spy1

Then he will go upstairs. Exit the eye doctor’s building, climb the ladder to the left until you see a door, and enter it. Once inside, talk to Dr. Spyglass again and he will give you a Chameleon Suit that will make you almost invisible.

The First Spy

Go to the Docks and get the message from the guy in the trash can. He will give you a message that says, “There’s a secret entrance to the warehouse ON THE ROOF.”

Put on your chameleon suit, and in this area, climb as high as you can while avoiding the B.A.D. guards, because if you bump into them, they will knock you over! Be careful; they can see you when you move. You’ll find a door. Go in and continue. (Remember to be wearing your chameleon suit.)

spy2

Beware of the B.A.D. guard dogs (Fang, Slasher, and Fluffy). They’ll bite you if you get too close. If you get knocked over, you end up on the floor above you, so be careful. Eventually, you’ll reach a room you can go inside.

Go past the dogs by walking carefully. Stop when they get close. They can’t see you because of your suit, and they will walk on past you. Do this with all the dogs. At the bottom, go left.

spy3

You should see some little platforms above you. Get on them, and jump to the other side. You should have landed in a small hidden room. Talk to the tied up spy there to free him.

He will give you a Laser Pen and a satellite clue.

The Second Spy

Now leave the warehouse and go back to Main Street. Then go all the way to the right and go to Balding Avenue. If you continue to the right you will see a guy wearing green camouflage. Talk to him and he’ll give you a message that says, “There’s a top B.A.D. agent in BISTRO.”

B.A.D. Bistro

To access the B.A.D. control center, you’ll need a B.A.D. agent’s fingerprint. Keep going right until you get to a little restaurant called the B.A.D. Bistro. Take off your suit and walk in (the chameleon suit isn’t allowed inside). Go all the way to the right to the kitchen and talk to the chef.

Ask to apply for the job and he will tell you that you need to pass a test. It’s simply a game of Simon Says. Watch the order he taps the ingredients, then imitate it. You’ll have to do this a few times. If you win the game then he’ll give you a Chef’s Hat and you become a chef; if you lose, try again.

Next, go to the table with people seated around it and click on the guy with the mustache. He’ll ask you to fill up his glass. You’ll get the glass with his Fingerprint on it.

Go back into the kitchen and jump on the fridge, then jump on the shelf and there will be an opening above you. Go through it and jump from lamp to lamp until you reach the wall. Then fall to the ground and leave the bistro.

The Warning

Head right and you’ll see another guy in camouflage. Talk to him and he’ll give you an item – File X – that contains a decodable secret message.

If you read it the way you’d normally read a letter, it tells you what a great man Director D is and how you have to trust him. But don’t get fooled too easily!

This file really contains the opposite message than what meets the eye at first glance. Here’s how to decode it: all you need to do is read the first letter of every line! It says “DON’T TRUST DIRECTOR D.”  How devious! (Note: You don’t have to know what the file actually says to complete this quest, but it’s good to be warned about Director D. first, and you’re probably curious anyway.)

Toupee Terrace

Now continue right over to Toupee Terrace. Now you’ll want to carefully get to the top of the house without getting zapped. It may seem hard at first, but once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty easy. What you have to do is jump from window ledge to window ledge until you reach the top, and watch out for the yellow zappers, because they’ll knock you off if you bump into them!

When you get to the top, you’ll find a window with bars in front of it. Get in front of the window and it will show a close-up of the window. Your mouse is now the laser pen. Click on the bars to cut them to pieces, then enter.

Go inside, and you’ll be in the attic. Walk left and you will see another secret agent tied up there. Free him and he will give you a Grappling Bowtie.  This will help you reach higher heights. He’ll also give you another satellite clue.

The Third Spy

Exit the attic and go back to Balding Avenue. Using the grappling bowtie, go as high as you can, until you see the sign for the rooftops. Go up. (To use the grappling bowtie just click on the bowtie on the bottom left and click which way you want to go.)

Use your grappling bowtie to try to grab another platform. (Be careful, there’s a B.A.D. guard there!) Now use your grappling bowtie to try to grab another platform or antenna at the top left. Talk to the guy there. Now aim your bowtie to the far right and try to grab another antenna.

When you swing over there and are directly above the building, click again (at the top of the screen) so that they let go of the rope, otherwise they will swing back. Enter the tube.

Greenhouse

You are now in a greenhouse. Take off your Bowtie, because wearing it will make this part more difficult. Go to the far right and you will see a cherry bomb tree. Click on the cherry bomb and move the cherry bomb left.

spy9

Now push it to the flower pad on the ground and it will bounce to a higher floor. Get on that floor and push it to the left until it falls on the lower platform. Push it onto the other bouncy flower pad and it will go to a higher platform.

spy7

(Watch out for the flytraps. They will throw you off!) Go to the platform, and finally, to the cage with the spy agent girl trapped inside.

Now push the cherry bomb in front of the cage and wait until it blows up. When it does, the cage door breaks and the last spy will be freed.

The spy will give you a pair of Ultra-Vision Goggles and the last satellite clue.

Defeating Director D.

Now leave the greenhouse and go back to Balding Avenue. Go right past Toupee Terrace, all the way to the right again until you reach the B.A.D. control center. Here you’ll need to put on your ultra-vision goggles. You will see that the zaps are timed, so you will know when it is safe to move.

Move along to the right, then when you reach a dead end, go up. Soon you should see a door. Click it and use the fingerprint on the glass to unlock it.

Once you’re inside the room, climb up the platforms, avoiding all zaps. When you reach the top you will see a computer. Click on it and enter the passwords. The three passwords for the teleporter are 1: laser 2: hair 3: removal.

A Close “Shave” with Minibots & Director D.

And then… Director D. will show his true self. Go into the teleporter and Director D. will talk about his plan to make everyone in Poptropica BALD!

spy14

Then his mini bots will come out. To destroy the mini bots, lead them to the yellow orbs in the four corners of the room. When they hit an orb, they will explode.

There will be 4 minibots, and there are 4 yellow orbs – one on the bottom right, one on the bottom left, one on the top right and one on the top left.

Use your bowtie to help you get to the top parts. When Director D. fights you with his machine, make it crash onto the ceiling four times. To do this, get onto the top of the machine while it is moving and wait for it to crash. (You will know when a crash was successful if you see the word “CRUNCH”!)

Alternatively, you can use your bowtie to get yourself on the ceiling, then hold on so that you stay swinging on the ceiling. You will be luring Director D.’s machine to you, and when it gets to you, it will crunch on the ceiling but knock you off, where you can continue to try and crunch the flying machine again.

Well done, agent—or should I say, director?

Once you’ve defeated Director D, you will be brought back to the headquarters. The top secretary at the spy headquarters will present you with the quest reward: the Spy Island Medallion and credits to spend in the store. Director D will be locked up in a little prison cell inside headquarters, and you will be the new director! Congratulations!

At the beginning of the quest, you might have noticed there was a screen in the spy headquarters that said, “Welcome, Agent (your character’s last name).” Now that you’re the new director, the screen will now say “Director” instead! Good work out there, fellow spy.

Scary Tomato: Not sure if this works, but try using the Costumizer on any character, then click on the glass you are holding in the thing that pops up. It should remove it. 😉

  6. Hey!! thanks 4 all the guides they really help me I try to do it all by my own but sometimes when I forgott something I should or I didn’t understend something I always come to this page. This island in special was a little triky but nothing to worry about…

  7. WOAH!

    Really hard for me. 😦

HOPE TO SEE YOU ON POPTROPICA!

  8. I don’t get the last part.. There’s only one mini-bot for me.. None at the globes

Scary Tomato: There’s only one minibot at a time. When you defeat one, a new one appears until you beat all 4. Then you have to face Director D. 😉

  9. Thanks Scary Tomato!
The hardest bit for me was none of it with the guide! PHB ROX MY SOX!

    Annabelle

  10. Thanks for this helpful guide!!! But I can’t seem to find the door!

Scary Tomato: Please be more specific – which door do you mean? Thanks, and we’ll try to help. 😉

    1. Wow, I think this was my first comment on the PHB! Anyway, I meant the door in the B.A.D. Control Center, but I finished Spy Island a long time ago now.

  11. It’s really nice of you to take the time to write these guides to help people, Scary Tomato. 😮 I like this face it looks like a smile!

    Popfan

  12. O_O This website was really helpful. I finished poptropica.com really quick 🙂
    Thanks Your the BEST.

  13. scary tomatoe can i thank you for giving me these guides. Can you try to make one for Nabooti island, the one they have is lame and not as goood as yours.

Scary Tomato: Thanks! Click here for the Nabooti guide. 😉

  14. HEYYYYYYY! Cool website u got here! i finished spy island, shark tooth, time tangled, and super POWer! (P.s. if u need my poptropica name, username its Comical Crush. ❤ Krysten

  15. Dude you rock! with out this info i wouldn’t have finshed the island Thanks! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. Your blog was so usefull I could not finsh spy island with out your blog. And thank you for the 24 carrot island blog I could not done both of it with out your blog. And when is Astro knites island coming out on poptropica?

Scary Tomato: Thanks! Astro-Knights is coming soon, but we don’t know which month yet. 😉

  17. Thanks a lot!!
I completed now all the missions in poptropica!!
    Again,thank you so much!!
    more power to you guys!!

  18. How do you get through the part where the second spy is?
I can’t get through the shock beams, the beams shock me off. Can you please reply to this, and in the reply, can you put a guide for the 2nd guide shock beam thing?

    1. Icy Tornado – You have to wait a few seconds for the shock beams to be briefly turned off. While they are turned off, you can jump to the place where it was. However, a few seconds later the beams will turn back on, so be careful that you don’t get knocked off. While you are standing where a shock beam was, you need to quickly hope to another windowsill that doesn’t currently have the shock beam turned on, and so forth until you reach the top of the house where you break through the bars with your laser pen and save the spy there. Hope that helped! 😉

      1. Thanks. So basically you mean, you need wait on the ground for the shock beam to turn off. But then, the window sill I try to jump to has the shock beam on! Can you help me out!

  19. omg! for me the memory part to be the chief was hard! it took me like 7 or 8 minutes just to pass that part. 😡 grrr

  20. how do you get the third spy. I don’t get it when u mean push the cherry bomb to the other flower, becuse the other flower is on top of a ledge

ST: I meant the flower on the ground, which is near the cherry bomb. When you push the cherry bomb so that it goes on top of that flower on the ground, it will bounce up. 😉

  21. That was a very good and helpful thing. It took me a long time to beat spy> longer than time tangled and super powered.

  22. Dear Scary Tomato,
I have done almost all of the islands, and your walkthrough for 24 carrot was absolutely amazing! And until i got to the minibot part in Spy Island, it was fantastic! I was reading this, so I put the Poptropica window behind this, I wasn’t worried because all that the minibot was doing was zapping me and you have limitless health in Poptropica. So when I was done reading the instructions, I went back to the screen and it was just sitting there. I tried to lure it to the yellow orb, but I couldn’t; it just sat there. Please help me figure out how to get this working again, I’ll put down another comment if I figure this out. Thank you!
    Love,
    Bella B.

    P.S. How old are you?

ST: Try going back to the section with the minibots battle and defeating them again, and see if it works this time. I’m 12 years old, as you can read on the About page. 😉

  23. Dear Scary Tomato,
Yay!!! It worked!!! Thank you sooo much!!! I don’t know if I should tell you this or not but what the heck, I was hoping you would be my age, 12. Finally! A guy my age that actually has a brain!
    Love,
    Bella B.

    1. dear scary tomato im 11 and you are amazing im almost 12 i wish i was well your poptropica stuff works!!

  24. Dear Scary Tomatoe
Your website is really great. I thought it would take me 2000 years to complete Spy and Nabooti. You really really helped me.

    Yours truly,and with best wishes,
    Director Fast Claw

  25. thx so much Scary Tomato! BTW, did u do all of the other islands on this website? cuz if u did then u r SO AWESOME!!!! It helped a LOT!!! I felt so stupid b/c i couldn’t even finish Early Poptropica until i found this website. I owe a lot to you. Also, i have another question: After you complete all of the islands, how do u get more credits? Do u have to buy them?

Hijuyo: Yep, just check our Island Help page for other guides. After completing all the islands, you’ll have to go here (and pay real money) to buy more credits.

  26. thnx scary tomato!!!
    u rock
i nearly finished spy island and this will be mie last one to complete!!!

    peace dudes

  27. hi Scary tomato

  28. whoa now i just read this blog ima big fan of urs! so is scary tomato ur name in poptropica and if u wanna see me in poptropica im caled mad fish

Hijuyo: Yes, I’m Scary Tomato on Poptropica. Nice hearing from you, Mad Fish/Zoe!

  29. Thanks to you I’ve passed more islands than I would’ve alone. THANK YOU SOOOO VERY MUCH!!! xD

  30. got a new glitch in bistro

get god size and get the glass jump through vent go over a few lights and fall down, start tap dancing on table, hit space bar repeatedly

  31. Lol, I was on the windows, and I was having difficulty on the last round, and I yelled “I DON’T FREAKING CARE ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!” And jumped onto a window wit a lazer, and I landed on a tiny corner that didn’t get the lazer. O_o

    1. As the guide says, it is a simple game of Simon’s Says. The chef will tap on the items in a certain order, and then you need to tap on those same items in the same order. Do it enough times correctly and he will award you the chef’s hat.

    1. I suppose if you clearly gave credit where it’s due and linked back here, it would be alright. (eg. “This guide was written by…” and “Click here to visit the Poptropica Help Blog/the original guide”)

      1. Fishy when I copied your guide and added pictures in the the guide at half of the guide after I updated it is at least off the screen, what do I do? P.S the guide is under Cheats and Walkthroughs, respond back soon. 😀

      2. Maybe you can try deleting everything and pasting the text again, then adding the pictures back in later. You already have the picture URLs on your blog so you can just upload from the URL (but you’ll need to have the URLs, perhaps open on other tabs). Make sure when you add the pictures that you don’t insert them until they are at a small enough size.
