Welcome to Mythology Island, land of the Greek gods and goddesses! Enter the Museum of Olympus and head right. A little cutscene will play, introducing the feud between the main gods: Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades.

Once that’s done playing, keep going right until you find the area with the statues. Find Poseidon’s statue and take the pink Starfish off of it.

myth1

Then leave the museum and walk left to the sign labeled “Tree of Immortality”.

Tree of Immortality

Climb up the stone steps and you’ll reach an area where you can go up to a large tree. Keep going until you find a satyr (half-human, half-goat). He’ll be waiting for you in the top right corner of the huge tree.

The satyr will tell you that nymphs have stolen his honey and have hidden his honey around the tree. You have 100 seconds to race around the tree and retrieve 10 pots of honey for him. Then he’ll reveal to you a new secret path. Climb up on it, get to the tip of the branch, and grab the Golden Apple — the fruit of the gods.

The Greek god Zeus will descend from a sky of darkness and speak to you, offering you immortality in exchange for five sacred items. When he leaves, take the Sacred Items Scroll. Examine it to find out what you need to collect for Zeus.

Leave the tree and go right. The goddess Athena (who was previously disguised as an old lady) will be waiting for you. Talk to her, and she will tell you to look to the olive trees for help – whenever you see a glowing olive in the trees, you can click on it to receive a hint from her. Or, you know, you can use this walkthrough for more direct steps.

myth4

Anyway, on with the quest for the five sacred items!

Apollo’s Temple

Go right, past Athena, then past Main Street, until you get to the Grove of Temples. Enter the first temple – Apollo’s temple. Head all the way to the right and take a Reed Pipe.

pipes

Then jump up and talk to the statue holding a reed pipe – that’s Euterpe, the Muse of music.

myth5

She will teach you a song, but you must prove to her that you are a worthy musician. As part of this process, she’ll play notes on the reed pipe and you must click on the exact same sequence of notes to imitate her. (It’s different for every player.) Every time you get it right, she will add one more note to the end of the sequence, and on it goes until the last sequence of about ten notes.

If you are successful, you’ll learn the Pipe Tune, which will come in handy later.

Poseidon’s Temple

Exit Apollo’s temple and keep going right, past Hades’ temple in the ground, to the Temple of Poseidon. Enter Poseidon’s temple, and use the Starfish from the museum beside the altar as an offering to open the door.

Go inside and head left down the beach. There you will find Aphrodite, who will have you guess the names of various Greek gods and goddesses.

myth6

For your reference, here’s the order that Aphrodite asks you to guess them in:

  1. Ares
  2. Hermes
  3. Aphrodite
  4. Artemis
  5. Hestia
  6. Apollo

When you’ve got them all right, she’ll give you a Teleportation Mirror.

Hydra’s Scale

Now, dive into the water to the left of Aphrodite and go through the underwater maze. Collect bubbles on your way to regain oxygen (if you run out of oxygen, you’ll have to start the maze over). At the bottom of the sea is the entrance to a cave with a sign warning of a “gnarly monster”. It’s the Hydra’s cave!

Enter the cave and run left to where the five-headed Hydra is chained. To defeat the Hydra, just wait for it to strike, then jump on a head to knock it out. Do this for all five heads to knock it out completely. Then, click on the defeated Hydra. You will obtain an item for Zeus’s list: the Hydra’s Scale.

Giant Pearl

Leave the Hydra’s cave. Back underwater in Poseidon’s realm, there should be a giant clam near the cave that opens and closes. There’s a giant pearl inside it, and it’s one of the items you need to get for Zeus. Wait for it to open and swim in to take the Giant Pearl. You will now have another sacred item.

Garden of the Sphinx: Rare Flower

Head to the Garden of the Sphinx (left of the Tree of Immortality). Tip: Use the Teleportation Mirror to teleport to the gate at Main Street (lightning bolt icon), and from there, it’ll be faster to head left where you need to go.

Once at the garden, talk to the colorful Sphinx there. In her own mysterious riddle, she’ll let you know that you may take the flower if you can water it. To do so, hop up to the top left corner where the aqueducts begin. Activate the aqueducts by pulling the levers in the right direction and lowering the bridges until the water is flowing in a path all the way down to the rose flower.

Once that’s done, take the Rare Flower and you will have another one of the sacred items Zeus needs.

Don’t forget to jump left above the Sphinx and grab the Pomegranates, which will come in handy later.

Ring from the Minotaur

To the left side of the Garden of the Sphinx is the entrance to the Minotaur’s maze. Play music using your Reed Pipe to open the door. Match your notes corresponding to the colors numbered in order on the door: blue, blue, green, yellow, yellow, red, blue, green.

Enter and ask the Minotaur for his nose ring. He’ll tell you that he only grants favors to those who can make it through the Labyrinth, so you’ll need to make it out of the maze without getting lost!

Upon entering, Athena will give you some magical thread to keep track of your movement. Here’s a map to show how you should navigate through the Minotaur’s maze:

myth12

Eventually as you go through the maze, you will run into a ghostly figure who calls himself Pan. Pan gives you some advice about the pillar puzzle above him. Click on the pillar, which has 15 bones. The riddle tells you to take 6 bones away and still leave 10. To solve this, remove six of the bones so that the remaining bones spell out the word “TEN”, like so:

Keep progressing through the maze and go through the exit. In the next room, go right and click on the board on the wall with holes in it. Sneaky snakes will spring up from the holes. To complete this challenge, you’ll need to click on the fast-moving red-eyed snake three times. Once that’s done, you can exit the maze. Talk to the Minotaur to obtain another sacred item: Ring from the Minotaur. But he’ll give you a warning…

Zeus can’t be trusted? Hmm…

Whisker from Cerberus

You may have noticed the sign saying “These pomegranates are to die for!” Well, in a way, it’s not just about how awesome their pomegranate punch is – this is also a clue.

myth14

Head over to the Grove of Temples again. This time, drop down to the temple of Hades, the god of the underworld. Talk to the kid there, and he’ll offer you a Drachma coin if you’ll help him clean off the graffiti. To clean off the graffiti, click on the vandalized spots on Hades’ temple and scrub it clean by swiping with your mouse. There are three spots to clean. Once you’re done, talk to the kid again, and he’ll give you a Drachma.

Now, enter the temple of Hades. Head right and use the pomegranates from the Garden of the Sphinx on the altar as an offering. The door to the pit of Hades will open.

hades door pomegranates

Enter and jump all the way down the deep, dark abyss. You will reappear at the River Styx at the bottom of the pit. Tell the ferryman, Charon, that you’re ready to make the journey across.

ferry ride

And so begins the dangerous journey through the ominous green lake…

  • Avoid the falling stalactites by moving away from the general direction they’re headed!
  • Duck away from the flaming skulls by crouching down low so they’ll miss your head! Or wait for the skulls to dive towards you, then jump quickly.
  • Jump up high when you see a river monster heading towards you to get away from their attack!
  • The order is simply that: falling stalactite, flaming skull, river monster – this pattern happens five times, and if you survive, you’ll make it to the other side!
  • Don’t use any items from the Poptropica Store, because it slows down movement. (If you’re willing to take that risk, then try using the Minimizer item which makes it easier to avoid obstacles!)

Your main objective here is to stay on the boat and not fall into the river, long enough for Charon to take you to the other side. If your soul gets claimed by the River Styx, just keep trying!

Once you reach land, walk over to Cerberus, the three-headed dog. Use your Reed Pipe to play the Pipe Tune you picked up earlier. For your reference, the order is blue, green, yellow, blue, red, and green. When you play these notes in the right order, Cerberus will fall asleep. Click on the restful doggo to obtain a Whisker from Cerberus — the last item you need for Zeus.

Go back to the area with the Tree of Immortality (tip: use your Touchscreen Mirror to teleport to Main Street via the lightning bolt icon) and talk to Athena. She will tell you to examine the message attached to the five sacred items. Assemble the five clues to form this sentence: “Whoever wields the five sacred items will rule all of Poptropica!”

Zeus will appear and steal the sacred items from you. Talk to Athena again, and she’ll urge you to talk to Hercules at Herc’s Hero Hut on Main Street. Inside the hut, to the right, is Hercules, still chilling without a care in the world.

myth17

Explain what’s going on, and he will finally agree to help. There’s not much time to lose!

Hercules’ Help

Use the Touchscreen Mirror to take Hercules to Poseidon’s realm. Back in the underwater maze, Hercules will use his mighty foot to strike down a rock, opening up an entrance to Poseidon’s palace. Enter the throne room and ask the water god Poseidon for his help. You’ll receive Poseidon’s Trident.

(Note: For these next few tasks, if Hercules doesn’t follow you, you’ll find him back in Herc’s Hero Hut. Make sure to teleport with him.)

Go back to the underwater maze out and speak to Hercules again. Using the mirror, teleport yourselves to Hades’ realm. Click on the huge stone blocking the doorway to Hades’ throne room, and Hercules will push it away for you with ease. Inside Hades’ throne room, ask the god of the underworld for his help. You’ll get Hades’ Crown.

Go outside again and use the Teleportation Mirror to select the area with the lightning bolt on it. Hercules will use his muscular might to smash the padlock away from the gate to Mount Olympus.

Enter. Your character will see a little snake on the grass and freak out over it. Thinking it’s no big deal, Hercules will attempt to get rid of it. It turns out to be the furious snake-headed Medusa, who is so angry she turns Hercules into a stone statue. Yikes.

Walk right to the mountainous area and talk to the giant selling bags of wind at Aeolus’ Wind Wagon. Use your Drachma to buy a Bag of Wind from him.

wind wagon drachma

Aeolus will give you a wind boost to get you flying higher up, and you’ll be able to reach Zeus’s throne by climbing up a little further.

Zeus: the Final Battle

Inside the dark throne room, walk around and light up all four statues of Zeus by walking up to them. When that happens, Zeus will challenge you to battle.

At this time, your character will use the powers of Hades’ crown and Poseidon’s trident combined. Here are some tips for this final boss fight:

  • When it’s safe, get near Zeus and rapidly click in his direction to fire bolts of lightning at him. A health bar below his feet will show you how much damage still needs to be done to defeat him.
  • Listen to the sounds to know what attack Zeus is using. If it has an electrical traveling sound, that means he’s got that invisibility blockade on him right now. When Zeus is throwing his electric round mini-clouds, try to fly around him, or around the screen.
  • When Zeus throws his 8 lightning bolts, retreat and you can pass through the lightning.
  • When he is about to charge at you, get away from him as fast as possible, then return to rapidly shoot at him.
  • If you have only a few pink clouds left, retreat and recollect some pink clouds. If you lose all your pink clouds, you lose the battle. The pink clouds keep you in the air so you don’t fall off from flying around.
  • When Zeus has the white electrify power on him (when he’s throwing the electric miniclouds and/or about to charge) don’t shoot him; your shots will rebound on you.
  • Try not to touch Zeus in the battle; he hurts you in some way if you get too close to him.

Once you’ve successfully defeated Zeus, Athena will award you the Mythology Island Medallion and credits to spend at the Poptropica Store! Congratulations!

  • Mythology Island was re-released for Steam on May 25, 2022.
  • Common room: Midas’ Gym
  • The villain, Zeus, reappears in the final battle of Super Villain Island, and the fight is similar to that of Mythology Island.
  • Mythology Island is inspired by Greek mythology, with gods such as Athena, Zeus, Poseidon, and creatures such as satyrs and Minotaur.
  • The silver drachma coin you receive says “AOE” (with a dash inside the O), which spells the letters alpha theta epsilon in Greek. It means “of the Athenians” or “children of Athena”.
  • Hercules is called by his Roman name rather than his Greek name, Heracles.
  • The Bag of Wind from Aeolus’ Wind Wagon is a reference to Homer’s The Odyssey. In it, Aeolus gives Odysseus a bag of wind, but his crew opens it too early and their ship is blown far away just as they were about to reach Ithaca.
  • Members get additional Mythology Cyclops and Icarus Costumes.

  1. My wifi keeps crashing and I got Poseidons Trident but when I try to teleport using the mirror to get the crown Hercules doesn’t follow so I can’t move the big bolder out of the way. Please Help,

Slanted Fish: If Hercules doesn’t follow, it means he’s back in Herc’s Hero Hut. Go back there and teleport with him. 🙂

  2. well it doesn’t load in : ( why you do this to me poptropica why! : ( ❤ for people who have done it for sure

  3. My game glitched and now I used up by bag of wind but I’m on the ground and I don’t have a drachma.

Slanted Fish: Just talk to the wind bag seller again and he’ll give you more wind for free. 🙂

  4. When I went to Mythology, in the Grove Of Temples, the Muse of Comedy said “Text”. All the other Muses said “How may I inspire you today?”

    1. They must’ve messed up and didn’t put any coding, the Poptropica writers. I had this glitch too.

  5. How do I get past the guy who says only people on errands from the gods can pass/(he’s after Apollos temple)

    1. you obiously need an errand from a god, so go to the top of the tree and talk to the goat. get his honey and give it to him, then pick an apple and talk to zeusie

      1. I’m having the same trouble with this but I got the apple! For some reason it won’t load Zeus but after a while it glitches and just shows a floating scroll-no Zeus or other dude. Even though I have the scroll it won’t let me go past the guy saying I need an errand 😦

  6. does anybody have the problem in the maze how they are scared of the scorpion because I do. Like really?! Couldn’t they have made the scorpion smaller?

  7. I got to the very last part where I battle Zeus and my screen froze. I tried reloading it and going to different islands but it didn’t work. I stay in the place I am and my poptropican’s eyes and Zeus’ eyes won’t follow my cursor. What should I do?

  8. When I go to the museum, I watch the little act and stuff, then I go to the part with Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon. But, Poseidon doesn’t have a Starfish on his head. What do I do, Slanted Fish? PLEASE HELP ME!

  9. i love the phb website.it helps and guides me through the island when i need help on something. Thanks!

  10. Thanks this is really helping… But I have this really weird thing where I can’t go down that cliff, to the right of Apollo’s temple. The satyr is stopping me , even when I jump on the tree! No one else seems to have that problem. If you did/do please could you help me?
    Thank you everyone!

    1. same I feel u pain… ITGETTINGONMYNERVES!!!!! oops… I just broke my lucky pen NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! erra e koras!!!!

  11. id like to say that (no offense to other guides) this the best place to get help on poptropica than on any other website in the web. Thank you so much . Thanks to everyone on this website because i completed survival island , mythology island , time tangled island , and so much more. thank you everyone! 🙂

    1. I love in the end of the adventure when you get to stand on the cloud to defeat Zeus… I felt like my character was on cotton candy.

  12. For those having troubles on the boat, this is how I got it:
Move to front of the boat (slightly past the ferryman) to avoid falling stalagmites
Jump over flaming skulls as they charged at me
Jump just before crocodile-like sea creature bites
    Repeat

    1. OMG!!!! it inaccurate!!!!! 😦 I am a REALLY BIG FAN OF RICK RIORDMAN’S BOOKS!!! #LEOVALDEZISTHEBEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #LEOVALDEZFANGIRL! oh also I can’t get past the satyr who says something something arrend of the gods.. bah blah blah…. plz help!

      1. #IAgreeWithBothThoseHashtags. Are you saying Rick’s books are inaccurate, or the island? As it turns out, srry, RICK is wrong. i don’t know about the gitch, but it happened to me too, and a ton of people are complaining about that.

  13. Thank you for your help. When I saw what happens in the end I got very confused and then I remembered every past time I’d played the island I flubbed it up by accidentally taking out the mirror and using it before it appeared for me.

  14. This is helpful, except for the fact that when Hercules is needed to get into Hades throne room, I couldn’t get him there.

slantedfish: You might find him back in Herc’s Hero Hut. Go back and try teleporting to Hades’s room again.

  15. Help Zeus stole the things but when i went to Hercules he said that he would not go with me even though i had all the stuff.(or used to) some pls reply back to help me.

    1. you know, when crossing the hades river, all you have to do is stay at the back of the boat. The stalactite only hits the middle of the boat, and the alligator like thing only chomps at the top part
then you only have to jump when the scull comes along

  16. I CAN’T get past the thing where it the satyr says you must be on a errand from the gods to pass this point! plz help!!!!!!!! and I pretty sure I on a errand from the gods right?

  17. Can anybody help me, I have do everything correctly, but I cannot get past the Satyr once I leave Apollo’s Music Temple, therefore I cannot continue going right. Help?

    1. After you finish helping the satyr of the tree to get his honey back, he leaves and Zeus appears, he leaves you with a scroll, once you get that, complete the first quest for which you have to go to the left of the tree in which you find the satyr (the one who asks for the honey), and the satyr who said that the sphinx is in a foul mood will allow you to proceed and the other satyr who stands near The underworld entrance will also allow you to proceed, Hope I helped, HAIL POPTROPICA!!! 🙂

  18. What happens if this goat thingy tells you that you need to be on a mission you can’t go beyond this point. (It’s by Hades’ castle thingy).

    1. It’s been I long time since I’ve fine this island, but I think it get the pomegranates you have to go into Here’s Hut it something like that. If not just look for a video on mythology island. If you skip around in it you will probably find out what you needed to find out. Hope this helped! ☺

  19. It won’t let me go past the dude who says “you must be on an errand of the gods to past this point”

  20. I can’t get past the part when the old lady turns into Athena (I think that’s her name). The game glithces out and won’t start again! I’ve already restarted the island 5 TIMES! PLEASE HELP ME SLANTED FISH!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!

slantedfish: Sorry to hear that! Try contacting Poptropica support or play on a different browser.

    1. Hi Alex!
Yes, this has happened to me before. And I was stuck with no quests that I could do! 😦
But you actually have to see Zeus and hear thunder before. Then, everyone in Poptropica will hear that Zeus chose you.
I mean, you could just go up to Zeus and say ”Oh that sucks, bye!” and fly off to a different island or just go up to the Satyr and say ”Hey goat man, get out of my way” But this is Poptropica. So you have to ”risk your life to set things right.” I just made up that dumb rhyme.
      Hope this helps!
      Blue 🙂
By the way, I’ve finished. So I technically know every question and I’m a digital leader at my school. 😀
GOOD LUCK! There are some hard times ahead…
BY THE WAY, MY ROOM CODE IS EBK43! SORRY TO ADVERTISE BUT I’M A BIT LONELY IN THERE, 😦

  21. The Minotaur wont give me his ring… beat the labyrinth, talked to him, he gives me the warning but no item. This is my third time playing this island and i didnt even need a guide, but i had to come check if that was how you got the ring! This is the last item i got too, so i dont want to restart :^(

  22. How tf do you get past the scorpion in the Minotaur’s cave? I tried jumping over it but my computer was super laggy please help me :/

    1. You are supposed to jump over it, or let it pass by before rushing through where it was. If your computer is lagging too much, try playing on a different (hopefully faster) computer.

      1. Yes, Slanted Fish. Try to Precise Jump to it by clicking the place you want to jump on and let go quickly. If that still doesn’t work, like Slanted Fish said, try a different computer.
        HOPE THIS HELPS!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
        Blanx 😀

  23. Oh god I love this there are so many old greek mythological things and I love greek mythology so some of the things I didn’t need to check the guide for XD

  25. Hi Avalon
At the beginning, you get a starfish from the museum on Poseidon, right? Now, when you have actually seen Zeus, you can pass the Satyr and go to the temples. Now, when you get to the edge, the first temple is Hades’. Now go on the mud fountains and you should see Posiedons’. Place the starfish from the start (by clicking menu, inventory, and then click ”use”. But, make sure you are next to the offering altar-a sort of table) A door should open, and when you enter, you should be on a beach. Then, go right next to the sea and you should see a lady, dressed in pink and she’s gigantic! Go through the conversation, and, at the end, she will do a test to see if you know your gods/goddesses. If, and only if, you get all the names correct, you can get the touchscreen mirror. Then, you can teleport to any realm (e.g. Aphrodite’s beach) but only if you’ve been there at least once.
To get help with the names:

    GEEK STYLE
Go to the museum and click the yellow boxes underneath the statues.

    A BIT LAZY STYLE
    Read this order:
    1. Ares
    2. Hermes
    3. Aphrodite
    4. Artemis
    5.Hestia
    6.Apollo

    LIKE, REALLY LAZY STYLE
Just read the instructions in the walkthrough.

    Hope this helps!

  26. I found an easy way to get past the River Styx obstacle. Just go to the front of the boat to get past the falling stalactites; jump up and land in the middle of the boat to get past the flaming skulls; and just jump (anywhere) to get past the river monster. Hope this helps! ~From a fellow Hong Konger

  27. This is a great guide! I have one thing to say: there is a glitch when i use the touchscreen mirror that makes it so my character turns completely black and has a totally different outfit. The only way to fix it is buy leaving the game and coming back. Is anyone else having that problem?
