ASG gift

Our Avatar Studio Gift is a present to the Poptropica community, containing a compendium of usernames that will allow access to rare (typically uncustomizable) costumes on Poptropica by way of the Avatar Studio Glitch, commonly known as ASG.

How to ASG

👕👉 The ASG can currently be performed using the ASG Machine created by idk. Enter the following into the tool:

  1. the username of the costume you want to clone (a list of usernames is found below — hover with your cursor to see their name),
  2. the username of the account you want to copy the costume onto, and
  3. the password of the account in step 2.

Don’t worry, your login information won’t be stored—it’s simply used to perform the ASG.

Important notes

  • This could also change your character’s gender if your gender is not the same as the ASG account.
  • In the case of the costume appearing on a new unsaved account instead of your own account, try doing this on a different web browser (e.g. Chrome, Firefox).
  • An ASG-able account (for those interested in making their own) must be wearing one of the following: jetpack from Early Poptropica, glider from Time Tangled, bowtie from Spy, or chameleon suit from Spy.

*Rare accounts for ASG are listed below with pictures. Check out the pictures to find something you like, then perform the ASG with the username corresponding to the account pictured to obtain the costume.

  • highSpeed_ASG allows you to run 30% faster on non-SUIs, and adds a cool little blurring motion, but does not work on SUIs (sound-updated islands).
  • WKF_ASG_AN-Princess includes fire hands as seen on the character from Monkey Wrench Island (not pictured in Avatar Studio).
  • PopASG16 can only be ASG’d on a SUI and the costume is not visible on Avatar Studio.
  • idk_customField_ASG – Just use the item card (it’s included with the ASG) and jump. You’ll have a forcefield of green, blue, and black!
  • special_booga_ASG is a special power that summons a bunch of Booga sharks. Like all ASGs, this still changes your costume.
  • idk_suiGlitch_ASG gives your character special glitch eyes (black with white pupils with red crosses). Only works on SUIs.
  • idk_suiGlitch2_ASG gives your character special glitch eyes (black with red pupils). Only works on SUIs.
  • MidasTouchASG turns island NPCs and other players in common rooms gold. To use, click on the action button, then click on a character to give them the gold effect. It doesn’t work on yourself in Haxe.

    1. The bangs from it come from the female Karate Master in the Store. The hair item itself comes from the guy with the large glasses and green top on Main Street of Virus Hunter, and it isn’t costumisable. And no, unfortunately, there isn’t an ASG for it yet.

  5. Hi. For some reason, some of the older ASGs don’t seem to work properly. I kept trying with the Steven Universe one but every time I went into a SUI, I would either revert back to my old costume or turn into this really generic looking poptropican.

    2. I had the same problem, for some reason ipop#13 can’t be done on the glitch. But, here’s how you get it! If you’re allowed, you can download iPop from mediafire on your device (make sure it’s the right one). When you log into iPop (make sure you read the note with the information on how to use it, and the code to log in) go to Customizer. Go to ‘clone character’, and type in iPop#13. You can choose what you don’t want on your character from this user, or customize all. That’s how I got that outfit. I had that trouble too, but I definitely hope that helped. You can always ask if you have any questions.

  22. Just a warning and a story!
    One innocent looking day Lucky Wing decided she wanted to put together a dress for herself. While making the outfit, she decided she wanted a shawl and opened up Avatar Studio in a new tab. Realizing that the ASG didn’t have the shawl, she swapped tabs to her Poptropica game and clicked her friends page. But lo and behold, she was now Ringmaster Raven! Shocked and startled, she exited the page as quickly as she could.Breathing heavily, she reopened Poptropica. Her friend walked up behind her and asked her what she was doing. She squeaked that she may have just made her Poptropican into a boy, and Ringmaster Raven at that! When she finished signing in, she could hardly look, but she had. She opened one eye…
    And her Poptropican wasn’t changed! She was just as she had been! Lucky stared open mouthed at her Poptropican, then breathed a sigh of relief. She made a mental note to be extremely careful next time. And maybe she didn’t need a shawl that bad.

    That’s it. It’s a true story too! So be very careful about that!

    1. your poptropican’s outfit and gender wasn’t changed because you didn’t save it. Like by pressing “accept”, changing your hair color or skin.
      Same thing happened to me too when I clicked friends but with like a weird combination of costume parts. Surprisingly I didn’t find an existing asg on this page that looked like it…

    ASG Cheat:
    ⑴ Go to home island
    ⑵ open avatar studio in another tab
    ⑶ type username in the studio
    ⑷ click Friends then immediately go to studio tab
    ⑸ press ‘enter’ key repeatedly, go back to Poptropica
    ⑹ customize someone to press ‘accept’
    ⑺ if it didn’t work, click ‘back to game’ to previous island
    ⑻ if you have the oufit, click ‘friends’
    ⑼ customize someone to press ‘accept’ again
    ⑽ click ‘back to game’ or ‘home’

    ASG-able Accounts:
    ⑴ create an oufit on original account
    ⑵ put on asg items, then log off
    ⑶ create new accounts w/ same password
    ⑷ open studio in another tab
    ⑸ type your original username
    ⑹ preform asg on new account

    2. customize the cards from your friends list and then go back to your game (non-SUI or it won’t work) and press the “follow” button in-game and then customize your friend again and get rid of the card. and võila. you have the follower.

  79. Hey SlantedFish, I was curious if you guys would ever release the trick to the name customization thing. I’m not interested in changing my name or anything, but as a high school student that is planning on become a computer programmer, I’m curious as to what char files are and how such things work. I’ve asked around and no one has a decent answer. I’m hoping you can help. Thanks in advance! Oh, and amazing website, you can tell there was a lot of work put into it, keep it up! :]

    1. I personally don’t know the computer science behind the name customization, but a few Poptropicans have developed ways to make custom names. The method that’s simplest to use is to fill out the Name Genie form at http://namegenie.tk/ (created by Keith Sammut). It’ll be done automatically and is available for public use.   85. Hey, I’m looking for a specific hairstyle – It’s dreaded hair that’s held back with a red bandana, I think it was used in a pirate ad or something? Anywho, I could have sworn I saw the iPop ASG for it on this page but it seems to have been removed. I’d really like to use it for a new Poptropican I put together ^^ If you’re not sure what I’m talking about I could point you to a previous commenter who provided an image of it

  86. Um… I tried using the Black Widow ASG, but it just won’t work! And I know it’s not my account, because i can ASG other costumes, just not BW. Could somebody look into that please?

    1. Any account that wears one of the following items is an ASG: one of the following: jetpack from Early Poptropica, glider from Time Tangled, bowtie from Spy, or chameleon suit from Spy. So just put on one of those things, and you’ll have an ASG-able account!

  95. Hey, I’ve been having trouble using the ASG since I tried it on 12/22/16. I went onto a non SUI and used the steps at the very top of this post, but when it came to step 4 I wasn’t prompted to save a new account. I tried it with multiple accounts and rare usernames. I use a lenovo Chromebook and my browser is Chrome and I’ve never had problems with this before. I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong, if it’s my computer/browser, or if the glitch itself no longer works. Could somebody please help me?

    1. Scratch the above post – I managed to make the ASG work for me. But the rare username grand-guy-13 doesn’t seem to work and I’d love to get that floating red eye above the head somehow. Does anyone know how to get it?

    I tried doing the Grand-Guy-13 glitch but it didn’t for me the first 3 tries…
    Also when i added some of the poptropicans such as Grand-Guy-10 his/her eyes didnt go on my character…

    What do I do?
