The Week’s Report

Well, there hasn’t been much activity on the PCB this week. However, they leave us with two noticable clues.

Here’s the first post:

Up, up, and away!

Some of the inhabitants of Twisted Thicket can be pretty prickly!

CAPTAIN CRAWFISH

We are flying again? Seems like.

… at least those dryads seem nice.

Secondly, the mysterious new tab could be introduced soon. And the Creators show it by having Bigfoot and Gretchen Grimlock try to stick their tongues to their noses.

Pop quiz, hotshot

What awesome new features are coming to Poptropica very soon?

We’ll have the answer soon!

CAPTAIN CRAWFISH

Well. It looks like we’ll be answering random questions. Wonder what they will be. In the meantime, please enjoy this short skit based on the above PCB post:

Gretchen: I- I almost got it!

Brave Tomato: Gretchen, it’s a little late to try.

Gretchen: Sheesh! If this is what I have to do to be on a blog, then I will do it!

*Gretchen looks at Bigfoot. He shows off succeeding.*

Gretchen: *scoffs* Show-off. Unless… hmm… *takes out a switch*

Brave Tomato: Umm…. what are you doing?

Gretchen: What do you think? *presses the button*

*A cage falls. However, it surrounds Gretchen*

Gretchen: What?! *keeps pressing the button* No! No! No! Not me!

Brave Tomato: We had a feeling you were going to try something if we put you and Bigfoot in the same room. So we switched the positioning of the cage.

Gretchen: *groans*

Well, BT out! I just added that skit to make this dull post a little more intriging.

Your new island pack

Can’t wait for Vampire’s Curse Island? The creators won’t just let us sit the last remaining days of the countdown in our chairs doing nothing but watching that clock. Your new Island pack/gear is here. Of course, all of these (needless to say) our members only gold items. So if you’re a member, you can directly recieve such gear for free.

Go ahead, activate some of that garlic 😀 and perhaps release some odor that will drive away vampires perhaps. Chew on some vampire bat gum and release a swarm of spooky cratures. Or dress up as a count. One can never have too much fun with store items.

Again, all of these are free to members. Have fun out there, guys. RD dashin off.

Okay, that’s great for the non-member audience out there…

Random Audience Member: But what about Vampire’s Curse Island???

Well, yesterday, the Creators released the trailer… and… let’s just say it’s different from the other trailers.

Watch the trailer for Vampire’s Curse Island!

The trailer for Vampire’s Curse Island is here!

Pretty spooky, eh?

Vampire’s Curse Island is coming soon to Poptropica. We’ll have a lot more information soon!

CAPTAIN CRAWFISH

Aha. So this Count Graham cracker (excuse me, Bram) guy is taking an innocent girl? One word: Dracula.

Well, along with the trailer yesterday, the Creators also posted the story page for Vampire’s Curse Island, with once again, an epilogue! Hey, the epilogue’s always somewhere!

The story page reads:

For centuries, a truce has existed between the people of a remote mountain village and the vampire who lives in the castle high above. Now, that truce is shattered, and Count Bram has captured a young villager. Can you rescue her from his evil clutches — and avoid being struck by the vampire’s curse?

Okay. The Creators gave us TWO things to worry about. One, getting this Katya girl away from Count Bram, and two, avoid Bram’s vampire curse.

Also, there’s going to be an epilogue bonus quest for members only after you finish the island. It reads:

Poptropica members can play a bonus quest after completing Vampire’s Curse Island. The vampire is gone, but his curse lives on. Prepare to discover even more secrets of Bram’s castle — if a dangerous vampire hunter doesn’t get there first!

Yikes. Well, the page also shows the store items for members including a count/countess costume, vampire bat PopGum, and garlic breath. They’ll probably be released when Early Access time comes around.

There are also some screenshots, a desktop wallpaper, and a printout poster!

But the release date is still a mystery…

Audience Member: A mystery wanted to be solved!

Calm down… eventually, the Creators will announce more stuff about this island.

BT out!

Update: Here’s Loud Shark’s Lorax Ad walkthrough!

Beware The Vampires

Ever hear the old saying that if you get bit by a vampire, you eventually turn into one? A frightening scenario. Perhaps that’s just what will happen on…Vampire Curse Island. The name itself perhaps implifies a premium of chills and thrills. Definitely not for the faint hearted…but then again, Poptropica is meant for all ages big and small, meaning that perhaps this island won’t be as fright filled as it seems. Or perhaps it very well will.

Rainbow Dash’s first guess on the island, based on the name itself, is something to do with turning into a vampire. Perhaps its lethal bite causes you to grow into one, and you must find some sort of cure and at the same time run from vampire hunters? Definitely not your typical island.

Of course, before I go, just a little bit of something on the comical side.

You better take Fluttershy before you embark on this spoooky quest…ha ha…RD dashing off.

Your Island Pack

Yes, as mentioned, the new SOS island is oficially released to the public. Very big deal to the Poptropica community. Members also have an exclusive access to an indept second story full with unprecedented twists and turns. So you can expect everyone to be out solving the synopsis of both tales as players set foot onto the new island.

What also came a bit earlier were the special Members Only packs. As you may have noticed, these come out with nearly every island. The sonar power lets you track your motion radar and see what other CPU’s or players are coming near you. The fishing pole is another nifty accessory that goes along with the theme of the island. Then of course you have your captain’s costume, dressed in full naval regalia. Splendid.

If you’re still reading this, you’re probably very excited. In this case, I recommend you go and feed it by treating yourself by taking a full dosage of the new SOS Island. So leave this page, and go beat that island 😉
