Hey Pridetropicans!

Perhaps you’ve heard that June is Pride Month, a celebration of the world’s LGBT population. In many places IRL, pride parades are taking place, and here at the PHB, we thought we’d bring the high spirits to Poptropica as well. So, we’re throwing a Poptropica Pride Party, and you’re invited!

• 🤓️ WHO: Everyone – you don’t have to identify as LGBT! PHB staff will be there too!
• 🎉 WHAT: Multiverse parties on Poptropica and lively chat on the PHC. Though there’s an emphasis on LGBT pride, the conversation can wander. Like a real-life pride parade, we recommend you dress your character up in rainbow colors and outlandish fun gear!
• 🕒 WHEN: June 29, 2017 (Thursday) @ 3 p.m. Eastern / 2 p.m. Central / 1 p.m. Mountain / 12 p.m. Pacific (If you do not live in any of these time zones, use a time converter to find out what time it will be in your area! In some places, it may be Friday morning.) As with all PHB parties, feel free to pop in and out whenever. Parties tend to go on for a few hours, so it’s okay to be “fashionably late”!
• 🎈 WHERE: The Poptropica Help Chat hangout, a Discord chat server better known as the PHC – link is discord.me/thePHC. The chat is moderated and safe for kids.
• 🏳️‍🌈  WHY: To promote human dignity – more on that below.

LGBT stands for people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender, and because such identities are not always accepted in society, LGBTs often face struggles such as discrimination. Fortunately, the Poptropica community is generally kind to those who identify as LGBT.

We also recognize that the topics involved are controversial and multifaceted. It is not our purpose in organizing this event to push any agenda, save for one which we hope all can agree with: that every human being, regardless of any area of their identity, deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.

Or, as Santa-Myron Van Buren would say, “Tally ho-ho-ho!” (You can thank Purple Claw for that joke.) If only Survival Island featured such a battle cry – it certainly has the weather for it!

Anyway, for those of you who came out to our 2016 Holiday Party this weekend, we hope you had a blast! The PHB team had a lot of frosty fun hanging out with everyone on the PHC (our Discord chat server) and various Poptropica Multiverse rooms, playing games and admiring Christmas costumes. You can check out a selection of them in the recap collage above, as well as in the recap video below!

As the video shows, life is popping in the Poptropica community, and for those of you who are still lurking in the shadows, hopefully this PHC promo encourages you to dip your toes in a little further and join in the fun! The PHC is always open for Poptropicans to hang out and chat about anything, even when we’re not currently throwing a party (you could even throw your own!).

O come, all ye Poptropicans, joyful and triumphant! The holidays are upon us, and we’d like to invite all of you to celebrate with us at this year’s 2016 PHB Holiday Party – Christmas, Hanukkah, the winter season, other end-of-year holidays, and, uh… unthawing Slippery from the block of ice he’s in?

Whether you’re a frequenter of PHB parties or have never been to one before, we think you’ll have a holly jolly time at this one. (Just take a look at last year’s holiday party!) Here are the event details:

• ⛄️ WHO: Everyone – you’ll get to chat with Poptropicans and even PHB staff!
• 🎉 WHAT: Multiverse parties and lively chat on the Poptropica Help Chat (aka the PHC: join in at discord.me/thePHC) – with a holiday twist. Bring your Santa hats, candy canes, and of course, your holiday cheer!
• 🕕 WHEN: December 23, 2016 (Friday) @ 6pm Eastern / 5pm Central / 4pm Mountain / 3pm Pacific (If you do not live in any of these time zones, use a time converter to find out what time it will be in your area! In some places, it may be Saturday morning.)
• ❄️ WHERE: The Poptropica Help Chat hangout, better known as the PHC – discord.me/thePHC
• 🎄 WHY: To spread holiday joy throughout the Poptropica community!

As noted above, the party takes place on the PHC (Poptropica Help Chat), and along with chatting on Discord, we’ll be sharing Multiverse codes so we can meet on Poptropica! To access the chat, click “Chat” in the navigational bar at the top of this blog or go to discord.me/thePHC.

The chat will be moderated, so it’s a safe environment. Just be sure to follow the rules as outlined on the PHC’s #tutorial channel to avoid being kicked or banned from the chat.

Gather around the table, Poptropicans… because you are all cordially invited to the PHB’s Thanksgiving Party of 2016! With apologies for the short notice, we still hope many of you are able to make it, as it will take place Wednesday afternoon (the day before Thanksgiving, as the day and weekend itself will probably be busy for a lot of people). Here are the details to know:

• 🤓 WHO: Everyone! Whether you celebrate Turkey Day in real life or not, come! Even the Canadians – we know you guys like to do Thanksgiving in October, but hey, that’s cool too.
• 🎉 WHAT: Partying and playing games in Multiverse rooms on Poptropica, and chatting on the PHC with friends, including some PHB staff! If it’s your first time, you’ll meet lots of cool people!
• 🕒 WHEN: Wednesday, November 23rd @ 3pm Eastern – 2pm Central – 1pm Mountain – 12pm Pacific (for those who don’t live in the US, use a time converter to check when that’ll be in your time zone! In some parts of the world, it may be Thursday rather than Wednesday.)
• 💬 WHERE: the Poptropica Help Chat (PHC) – click here to access it!
• 🦃 WHY: We’re thankful to have such an awesome Poptropica community to party with!

For those who are unfamiliar with the PHC, that’s the Poptropica Help Chat, the official PHB hangout. It’s a great place to chat with other Poptropicans anytime, not just when we’ve got a party going on, and sometimes you might even get to talk with PHB staff. Check out recaps of past parties here!
