Hey Poptropicans! Any rhythm game players in the house?

Discover Funktropica — a Poptropica mod for the popular musical rhythm game Friday Night Funkin’ (FnF)! Check out the gameplay:

In Friday Night Funkin’ (download here), you use the arrow keys to hit the right keys as they come up on screen. A similar game mechanism has even been seen in some of Poptropica’s ad games. With FnF, the goal is for the main character, Boyfriend, to impress the ex-rockstar dad of his love interest by proving his power in music.

The Funktropica mod puts a Poptropica twist to FnF, giving Boyfriend a Poptropica makeover and facing him off against iconic Pop characters and backdrops: Betty Jetty in the sky, Dr. Hare in the carrot factory, Greg Heffley at the boardwalk, Binary Bard in his castle — plus a few unknown Poptropicans, including a blank template one in Mocktropica.

Funktropica was developed by Eozchar, who writes in the mod description, “I’ve been doing this every summer since 2021, and honestly this skill I’ve learned has helped me greatly.” The first version, ‘Vs Poptropican’, launched in 2021, with yearly updates since, including the recent ‘Funktropica’ version released just this month.

The game’s music consists of several original electronic beats, including a remix of the Poptropica Overture soundtrack in the game menu. There’s even an impressive overworld with an island map taking you to the various scenes in Funktropica!

To play, you’ll need to download FnF first. Once you have FnF, you can then download Funktropica for some Poptropica rhythm jams. Enjoy!

  1. Yo creator of the mod here first of the all thank you for posting bout my mod it’s been a dream to be on here and second of all to explain some of the unknown poptropicans

    1. The guy in the song “Islands” is my poptropica character Tall Tornado. Originally in 2021, he was the only character in the mod called “Vs Poptropican” but i decided to add more characters later on. He has the easiest and hardest song in a mod.
    2. The faceless guy in the song “New World” is based on the poptropica creepypasta called “Poptropica Bootleg” were someone tries to remake poptropica but it goes horribly wrong.
    3. The guy in the song “MockUp” is the hiker on the unfinished Mt. Funshine. This reason he’s fully corrupted is because poptropica has literally because a mocktropica. His song also makes fun of a FnF composer called “Awe”
