Heyyo Poptropicans, it’s Ultimate iPad Expert here with a recap of today’s events Poptropica broadcasted on Periscope, Twitter’s video counterpart!
The Q&A with Jeff Kinney livestream for the Mystery of the Map graphic novel was on at 3pm EST today and lasted about half an hour, with intermittent breaks as they were figuring things out. Jeff Kinney answered multiple questions sent in from online, and Poptropica’s community liaison, Jessica (Skinny Moon), asked all the questions. You can check out Part 1 here and Part 2 here!
Similarly, the book launch party was live streamed from Jeff’s bookstore in Plainsville, MA on Poptropica’s Periscope. The event hosted not only Jeff Kinney, but also Mystery of the Map illustrator Kory Merritt. This event was about an hour long, and you can check it out here!
As a prelude to the two events, Jessica also filmed a short Behind the Scenes clip from the Poptropica HQ, which you can check out right here.
Also, shoutout to PHC-er Striped Lizard for attending the book launch event and sharing about it on the PHC (the PHB chat)! She got to share her island idea and art with Jeff Kinney, which is super cool!
Enjoy the Periscope peeks! 👀

Do you know if a recording of the stream will be posted? I’m too busy to watch it live.
Actually, recordings are currently saved on their Periscope page: https://www.periscope.tv/Poptropica
I’m not sure if they disappear (like on Snapchat or something), so I believe Andrew is saving them, as well.
You can watch the scopes right on our Twitter feed – you don’t need a Periscope account to see them. Enjoy! 🙂
Awesome! 😀
I guess that is interesting.
I’m thinking so 😛
Charlie the chocomonkey is available for getting.
Thanks for the tip
Behind the scenes details: I was supposed to be off-camera, interviewing Jeff and Kory — but Kory’s plane was delayed, and Jeff asked for me to be on-camera with him. 🙂 It was fun, and it was great to meet Striped Lizard in person! I’ll be posting some of her amazing Poptropica art soon!
Ah, that makes sense. I was thinking the Q&A with both of them, which it seems now it was supposed to be.
Really cool to see you in the vid, as well as the whole book event! 🙂
Also really awesome that you got to meet a community member, looking forward to seeing the art, I’ll probably add it to the post.
