Heyyo Poptropicans, it’s Ultimate iPad Expert here to bring you some BIG news about the Poptropica Wiki! If you’ve never heard of the wiki, here’s a little definition. The Poptropica Wiki is basically an online encyclopedia for anything Poptropica related that is editable by any user. The wiki, of which I am the head of, partnered with the PHB earlier this year, which is why I am here! 😀

Alright, now that you know a little about the Poptropica Wiki, here’s the news. Some of you may know about our mission to Officialize Poptropica Wiki or basically have the Creators endorse the wiki and help us out being sure that pages are all correct. You may also know that Poptropica Wiki is hosted on the site Wikia (similar to how the PHB is hosted on WordPress). Well, a few admins over on the wiki have talked about moving our site from Wikia to Gamepedia. There’s multiple reasons for this move, but the main reason is one involving the officialization of the wiki.

Gamepedia (like Wikia) hosts multiple wikis (online encyclopedias for a topic that are editable by anyone), but on Gamepedia the majority of the wikis hosted are made official wikis by the creators of the games these wikis are made about. This would mean we have a good chance of being officialized. In fact, a community manager at Gamepedia (in our accepted request to be moved to Gamepedia) mentioned that they’d be willing to help us in our quest for officialization!

The only issue I see with this is that basically half of the articles on the wiki are article stubs – just click on the ‘random page’ option and maybe at least a third of the articles will have the stub template. Maybe cleaning up some of these pages before requesting for officialisation would be the more sensible thing to do 🙂 Besides, many of these articles have been handled poorly before and inconsistencies abound. It seems a little hard to officialise something that doesn’t seem entirely… official yet xD

    1. Yeh, I get ya. We’re definitely planning to work on those stub pages. A lot of the bigger pages need working on, as well. The hardest thing about fixing pages, is there’s generally only a handful of editors on a more regular basis. So, always looking for people willing to help out or at least spread the word! 😀

  3. poptropica used to be so… simple. so was this blog, until it turned into a network. i know, even before i had a phb account. it was fun back then. my favorite page was the tribes page. so many battles, so many adventures. when i finally made an account here, the tribes people stopped. and then someone i never noticed started picking on me: adsuke. i couldn’t help noticing her sense of creativity. i had to find a way to make her my… um comrade. as the phb started officiating, adsuke went, and so did a new phb author i had a crush on. what? she was really nice! anyways, i feel like if the phb turns back into a blog, they all will comeback

      1. They might not have left because of the changes, but because they lost interest or can’t find the time? I wouldn’t know, really.

    2. Some people have been unable to check thePHB as often due to being busy with other things. It’s the summer, after all. And there’s always school to get in the way, and school has already started for some people. And some people prefer not be extremely active in the comments.

      1. Adsuke or CS?

        Adsuke is busy fighting and tracking down villains in Teen Titans City and she promised she’ll be back. She never forgets a promise (and, umm if you didn’t want me to tell Adsuke about her crush on her, why did you post it all over the comments..?)

        Cheerful Singer is really nice, unbelievably so, but as DE said, she is probably committed to other things by now. We’re all growing up, and so is this blog – and admit it, all of us, or most of us, will lose interest over the years and wonder why we ever played Poptropica, or lose interest in Poptropica sooner than others, or just… not find time to play it anymore. It’s a matter of understanding other people’s conflicts 🙂

      2. i guess… i mean, i was here only to have fun, have adventure. but now nothing Is the sAMe. there is no More of what i wAnt. i guess i should just leave… they are going, doing what they want, when i wish they could come bacK. Its all my fault aNyways. i was making an advantaGe out of them, so now im the bAd guY. maybe i should just watch yOUTUBE. that is what im good at. yeah! looking at Cats, watcHing minecrAft, haviNg sNacks, speaking spanish.EL mustashio! (READ EVERYTHING THAT IS IN CAPS LOCKS!!!!!!)

  7. Okay but I’m ultimately still kinda confused. The move to Gamepedia /is/ officially happening. Right? xD Or rather it has already happened. And the old wiki is being abandoned.
