Shark Boy Mystery

Shark Boy mystery update: Toys & Prizes

EDIT: There was a court case against Pearson Education and the wrestler “Shark Boy” concerning the use of the name on our beloved Shark Boy. It was dismissed and Pearson was not fined, but could this possibly be connected to Shark Boy’s disappearance?

I just want to make a quickย post about the disappearance of Shark Boy, and this is pretty major — the Shark Tooth plush and plastic toys have been removed from stores and the toy page!

sharkboy gone from toylist

If that wasn’t enough, the Shark Boy costume that you get from buying the Shark Boy plastic toy now shows as “Shark Costume”, even though that the original was named “Shark Boy Costume”…

But there still are a fewย traces of Shark Boy left in the world of Poptropica:

When will this shark-crushing crusade end?

    1. I agree, and the wrestler couldn’t really do anything, in this case, unless Pearson was intentionally trying to do something wrong, the name shark boy is used ALL the time, and the wrestlers costume is most likely the only thing he could sue against pearson for (even though they look nothing alike, so he couldn’t really sue Pearson for that either).

  1. Really? A wrestler sued Poptropica over sharing the same name with Shark Boy years ago? -_(\ why don’t you go ahead and sue Robert Rodriguez for Shark Boy and Lava Girl, while you’re at it??

    1. he did.

      From wikipedia:
“On June 8, 2005, Roll filed a lawsuit against Miramax Films, claiming that the Miramax release “The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D” infringed upon his trademark and demanding any “money, profits and advantages wrongfully gained”. In November 2005, it emerged that Miramax had attempted to have the case dismissed, in addition to requesting that the court nullify Roll’s trademark on the basis that “Plaintiff is a male whose services are rendered only when he is wearing a costume depicting ‘shark-like’ attributes.”[3][8][16] In April 2007, the suit was settled for an undisclosed amount.[17]”

      1. i think that guy is just out for the money

      2. I love that movie… I haven’t seen it in a while, but I still love it…

As for the Wrestler, considering his cases, and the fact that I love Wrestling and have never heard of him, I myself think he’s just doing it all for the money…

I mean suing a KIDS’ GAME SITE?! Seriously? Low life d:

  2. hey kids they got back to me about the shark boy/guy thing!!!!!11

    1. they probably didnt want to start a whole problem over again… you know what i mean? like they probably didnt want to tell people “hey we got sued by a wrestler” and then parents are like “umm what is my child playing where it got sued by a wrestler” or something like that.
