Could the Mardi Gras sneak peeks we’ve been seeing be related to Monster Carnival Island? Dr. Magic Onion points out that the Carnival of Costumes sneak peek we saw contains the phrase “Mardi Gras” in one of the posters, and we know another recent Daily Pop specifically mentioned Mardi Gras.
According to Wikipedia, Mardi Gras refers to the season of Carnival celebrations, with costume parades and other fun activities prior to Lent, the fasting season before Easter. Perhaps the Mardi Gras carnival is related to Monster Carnival Island, and maybe Fat Tuesday (February 12 in 2013) will bring in a new Poptropica adventure? It’s really hard to say which one is coming-MC or MG (Mardi Gras)?
Mardi Gras is definitely coming – the Creators put that in the sneak peeks twice – but what we don’t know yet is whether or not it’s related to the long-rumored Monster Carnival Island. However, the fact that Mardi Gras is all about the Carnival season shows that it just might be possible. 🙂
So MC will be a mystery forever…

Maybe not! We do have evidence that there were plans for Monster Carnival in 2012, and I also added information to the article about Poptropica buying MonsterCarnival.com on May 16, 2012.

Hopefully soon. As I pointed out, Mardi Gras falls on February 12 this year, so perhaps around that time we might be seeing something carnival-related. 🙂
