-Leaked Costume Investigation-

For the past week i have been searching for rare and awesome costumes for our new Costume page. But it was only a few days ago i came across some really weird items.

I found them on a fellow Poptropicans website. These weird items were been worn by Legoless. (As seen on the right)

I sent him an email about the items and this is what he replied:

Ok, firstly, these items are all but impossible to get now. There was an ‘item leak’ in the multiplayer buildings. Someone managed to get their hands on unreleased items that somehow happen to be on the servers (I am guessing they came from Monster Island). So, obviously enough, they spread like wildfire.
But when the creators finally got around to fixing it most people lost their items. If you logged on in the following 2 weeks (I don’t actually know the precise amount of time this went on for) they were removed. I hadn’t logged on in that time so, oddly enough, I got to keep the items.

The dragon wings were the same colour as your hair.

So apparently there was some kind of ‘Leak‘ just before the release of Monster Island. Due to the resemblance of the items towards ‘Monsters’, I’m guessing they came from the island too. Maybe this is why Monster Island never came out.

So when did this ‘leak’ happen. Well i have have found on many sites that it happened 2 to 3 months ago.
So what type of items were leaked. Well i went researching and this is what i found.

  • Unicorn horn
  • Scrawny wings
  • Face polka dots
  • Dragon Spikes and tail (One of the items Legoless had)
  • Dragon Wings
  • Bubble brain (Another of the items Legoless had)
  • Dragon wings (for head)
  • Goat Horns (Another of the items Legoless had)
  • Dragonfly wings
  • Body stripes
  • Body dots
  • Devil horns

After writing this it got me thinking. “Was this where the cat ears and whiskers came from? ”

If you see any of these items in Multiplayer Rooms, take a picture, get the items and send me your user name and Pass of your Poptropican wearing them.

Now this is where you can help in this investigation.

If you have any of these items, or you know a friend who does. Send me the Username and Password to the email given below.

All users sent to us will be only used by us, we will only copy the items onto one of our accounts. After we have done this you can use your account again. We will never tell anyone else your Users password and will be kept confidential. All emails sent to us with User names and Passwords will be deleted after we have used them.

  1. I saw a player but she wasn’t my friend but she had a weird looking necklace that was from Nabooti I did not get her picture too!

    Scary Tomato: Interesting… but how do you know it’s from Nabooti? And remember to send us a picture if you see another one! 🙂

    1. this happened a long time ago, like when there was only 8 islands. i tried to solve nabooti island, and i had all of the crystals exept 1 in diamond mines. every time i went there, all my stuff got deleted and i had to do it all over again, and then the exact same thing happened. i haven’t gone back to it till today, and haven’t finished it yet. i really hope the creators fixed that.

  2. This is very interesting and mysterious. Like Codien says I do wonder if this is where the cat stuff came from… 😮

    But one of the items you say were ‘leaked’ was “face polka dots”. Ned Noodlehead on Super Power Island has polka dots all over his face, are they the same item? ❓

    1. you push the print screen button when you get to the part you want to take a picture of. Then you go to MS paint and go to edit and then paste. Save it. There you go!

      (to get to MS paint go to start, all programs, accessories, paint.)

  4. I used to have a bubble brain.And those head polka dots arent the same. Ive seen them before. They were the same color as your skin.

  5. I saw this person wearing the cat ears and whiskers and when you wear it it goes with your skin colour ( not your hair colour!). Unfortunately, I can’t take pictures because I live in the UK. 😥 You can wear them if you’re a boy or a girl. I am a boy and tried it on the costumizer and it worked so you can wear it if your a boy or a girl. Sorry, Scary Tomato I can’t take any pictures. 😥

    No, it’s not. The cat items were actually from a cat – the one on 24 Carrot Island. There was a bug that let you Costumise the cat. It has since been fixed, but you can still obtain the items from multiplayer buildings as they weren’t removed like the leaked items (as far as I know).

    Scary Tomato: Now that’s interesting. So the cat stuff really came from the cat on 24 Carrot – cool! 🙂

  10. I saw this ad on fun brain for poptropica and it had a player with spots on his face.
    And the cat people look just like the cat on 24 carrot. I have the Ned Noodle head polka dots on my cat persons face but cant get them off. THe dots i saw in the ad were bigger. 8)

  13. i know this is off the topic,but i figured this out———– the island nate an nabooti must release sometime today becuz it says coming this fall– if it doesn’t come out today, it will be winter by the time it releases!
    Second , i use to have those items, but it vanished, so i guess it was true that if you logged on two weeks after you loose it.
    Other news: Would u like the pic of the cat becuz I have it and am a cat with a skull earning

    1. I have not been here in forever!All I WANT TO SAY IS (oops sorry about capitals)that i was at my friend’s house and we were on spy island and all of a sudden he had blue skin and monster stuff! We got rid of it because then we did not know it was rare!

      Hijuyo: It was rare for a long time, but these items have recently been re-introduced as costumes in the Poptropica Store.

  15. Is it rare if they have a rainbow type of skin? It was in the arcade and they had rainbow skin. Someone had curly wings too.

  18. ok yeah the cat ears and whiskers came from the 2 cats. the grey one on 24 carrot and black one from Spy . you used to be able to costumize them to also i have the dragon woings but i will take a picture soon!

    also… they have a new sneak peek of im guessing naboot island and they changed the dates on nabooti and Bignate, its now coming very soon and early 2009 and the sneak peek has someone called Big Zeke and is named safari1

  20. Comment 15: On another Poptropica Blog it said there used to be rainbow skin/ or body stripes but it got removed from poptropica because it caused the player to take their shirt off !! 😮

  23. I found a guy in the Multiplayer room wearing a Brain Hat instead of hair! But when I went to customize it it off him it wouldn’t let me. Very odd. He was also HOLDING what looked like a Nabooti/Time Traveled staff. I wish I could have customized THAT. :K He left before I got his name or a good look at him, but I got a customizer picture ^^ I’ll e-mail it to you guys.

  24. Oh, I forgot to mention that he had some ODD freckles on, they matched his skin color so they don’t show up on the pic. but they aren’t the same as Ned Noodleheads.

  27. This is somewhat off topic, but do you know when Monster Island was going to come out?

    Codien: Most likely never. It was even on the map until somehow it was replaced by 24 Carrot.

    I spotted another piece of clothing that was wierd, don’t know if you have heard of it, but it was sort of a short 7cm long and 2cm wide pole with a spike on in someones head

    I could not get a picture unforunatley as i have a Mac Notebook and it didnt allow me

    Please explain what this piece of clothing could be and where to get it, along with other cool items.

    1. I think i know what that is. On time tangled in aztec time there is a priest with a staff with a skull. maybe someone found a way to costumize it.

    Scary Tomato: I’ve never heard of silver earrings on Poptropica, but the brain hat is from Nabooti Island (dial 411 on your cell phone). 😉 Remember, if you have any pictures, feel free to send them to us!

  34. Okay, gotta make this quick, because I have to go. Whenever I do gogle search, poptropica, pictures, I get a picture of a POPTROPICAN MERMAID!! Where did it come from? Was it a leak of monster island? Is it a previw of a new island with some magic theme? What do u think? 😉

    2. I also saw that in a multiplayer room, however, i could not take the item. P.s. My poptropican name is silly noodle, but call me amanda. Anywho, about a week or so ago, where you can leave feedback i suggested the mermaid idea several times. Since then, I’ve been noticing fish tails. Im so jealous! Why do they get the leak? Anyway, I hope they are making the mermaid!!! Idk if it wuz bcuz of me or not, but i hope so!

  45. Wow, this is so cool! I hope that Monster Island will be coming out soon(if it’s going to be coming out at all). IMO, sounds way cooler than the upcoming Big Nate Island.

    I did see the dragon wings in a multiplayer room, but the customizer didn’t let me put it on my person. >.<

    I just saw a boy with red skin and he had Devil Horns!!
    What is weird is, is that I am a girl and he had the skull shirt on, and
    I was able to get it!!
    that was so weird…
    the cool thing was, was that I got a picture of it… but on my other computer. I don’t know how though, is how to send the picture to you.

  49. I think I know where the cat whiskers came from. There was a glitch from 24 carrot island and spy island where you could use the costumizer tool to dress up as a cat. But the Poptropica creators fixed the glitch. (only a theory!)

  57. Hey ST I have the cat whiskers on both of my characters and I sent them to you and I have a mac so I can’t send you a picture so if you want to take a picture you can. And all of you poptropicans out there I would advise you to visit the multi player rooms a lot so that if you have strange clothing or anything from monster carnival you can spread it out! I do that a lot with my cat whiskers which is why I have two characters with them in case I lose them on a mission and I want the whiskers back!

  60. I saw a person with Vlad the Viking’s beard at the Soda Pop Shop a few days ago. Do you think he was a Poptropica creator or maybe that was a ringmaster’s beard? After all, it was called monster carnival island. He exited the Multiroom a second before I could get a picture 😦
    P.S. He didn’t look like a viking, he had on monster carnival stuff

    3. no, they are the same polka dots. i am pretty sure. i think the only difference is that pewter moon polka dots can be costumized, while the others can’t.

  66. I saw someone with Dragon wings, and they weren’t from the poptropica store! They were yellow wings with blue spikes! I could only get his name: Angry Shell. I actually got a picture with my REAL camera, but the print screen button wouldn’t work! And at the time I got lucky, because the camera didn’t blur anything except the top of the computer, so I even got his head! And he had a weird type of fuzz at the back of him, but I think that was something from the poptropica store. I’m so excited!

  76. this is intresting how people get a cat costume and like this thing it like a helmet and its rare its nowhere on island and if you press space bar yellow laser comes out of the hat and plus today i found two strange mouths a talking mouth and when you go into the mulitiperson room and when you do the emotes at the end of the emote it satys like that could you help me on these things its a mystery!

Monster Island was intended to be released in spring 2007, but I believe that it was never released, as one day when I saw the Poptropica World Map, instead of seeing Monster Island, I saw 24 Carrot Island. My theory is that the creators of Poptropica had probably not fully planned out the island, so they replaced it with 24 Carrot Island. By the way, by accredited, do you mean I get bonus credits? I’m very low on credits (75 only)

One day when I was playing poptropica on Spy Island I went in the glasses shop then I copied the poptropican maniquen`s (or however you spell that) eyes and I didn`t have any! I didn`t save it and I exited the screen because I got really confused and scared sorry Hijuyo. I didn`t know anything about this rare stuff at the time. Are they rare? I really REALLY wish I could have got the unicorn and saved those eyes! Also is there anyone with the mouth that never stops talking I kept seeing it in multiplayer rooms but I never wanted to copy them and now I want to copy them but I can`t find any!!!!!!! I wish I had. 😦

  92. i have a complete cat costume saved in my closet.it has the ears nose body and tail. you can find the tail in the werewolf costume in the poptropica store.i have no idea where the costume came from. i just customized it from someone on my friends list. if you want to have it my username is “ginger1540”. go to my closet and take my cat costume.

  96. Hey guys, remember how there used to be a glitch where you could costumize any one of your friend’s (or friends’) costumes? Well, when that glitch still worked I got smart and made a boy account (I’m a girl) and decided to buy the monster costume with the unicorn horn for boys, and I used that glitch to copy my other boy account’s clothes so now I got the unicorn horn! The costume with the unicorn horn is for the boys only.
