Hey Poptropicans!
In case it’s been a while since you’ve last checked out our Cheats page, you may notice a recent addition: the Custom Name Genie form! Like with our Avatar Studio Gift, we’re using our secret method* to bring you some awesome account alterations. As the name suggests, using this service, you get to have your very own custom name on Poptropica!
*Due to not wanting our method to be patched, nor to have it abused, we will not be sharing it with the general public. Fear not, our goal is to let everyone simply enjoy the products!
All you have to do is fill out a simple form on our Cheats page specifying the desired details, and one of our glitching genies* will get to your request within a week and send you the custom-named account. Please note that this service cannot be done on pre-existing accounts (we will have to make you a new one), and of course, we will not make any offensive names.
With that being said, go wild with creativity! If you’d like your name to show up in-game, you can use any combination of the standard or Creators’ Poptropica names (see list here). Otherwise, non-standard custom names will show up in-game as Poptropican Lizard, but you can still see the custom name on the Avatar Studio as well as on the Poptropica app if you import your character’s look. Also, your name can have anywhere from one to four parts!
Whether you decide to become Captain Lucky Chicken Wing (shows up in-game) or Kim Kardashian (doesn’t show in-game), we hope you find a name you like and enjoy the Custom Name Genie. 🙂

In other news, album photos for Escape From Pelican Rock Island are finally here! Thanks to Tall Cactus for the tip. If you finished the island very early on, you may have to play it again to get the pics – however, for others, you may already have them. Finally, I’d like to ask you guys for your thoughts on the possibility of the Poptropica Help Network having our own mobile app! It would be a one-stop spot on your phone or tablet for our various networks: PHB, PHC, Twitter, Wiki, and more. Not promising anything, but your input is appreciated! 🙂

well,I do think it would be easier to get onto the PHB, but I get the feeling something will either be resolved, or it will go terribly wrong. I hope it will be resolved.
And what about that orb thing?
Don’t expect for any news about Orb Legend to come out anytime soon. It takes a long time to make a game. More news should be available when the official blog comes out, but that might take some time, too.
Also, if you read The Poptropica App Blog, you would know that the Mad Apper (author of the blog) is going to try to make an app, called the Poptropica Blogs App. Maybe you can team up with him and make one huge app!
I’ve heard of that. Hopefully his plans of opening the app works out, as I am excited for it.
On mobile, the PHB is well formated and easily readable. The app would be a nice touch, but I wouldn’t spend too much time on it. But, go for it.
I read blog posts and such via Reader, but while on my iPad, I’d prefer the app.

Theory of the Day (Day 13, LAST DAY for now)
Who is the Booted Bandit?
If you played EFPR, you know that the Booted Bandit, the villain of the island, is basically YOU WITH BOOTS. But for most of the island, the Booted Bandit is not seen and you’re thought to be them. So, is there more to this villain than just that? Maybe the Booted Bandit is not your doppelgänger. Maybe she/he is your LONG LOST TWIN. Not kidding. What could have happened is that while you were busy saving the world, the Booted Bandit was robbing banks and committing other crimes back in Bay City. When they found out that you were a hero, they got super jealous and wanted to get revenge. And when they found out about their rival Florian’s treasure, they also wanted to steal that, maybe they thought there would be a medallion in it. Then you have to come to Bay City one day in your blimp, and the events of EFPR happened. This probably isn’t true, but the Booted Bandit is one of those villains who’s backstory isn’t really explained.
Well, I hoped you enjoyed Theory of the Day. It has been fun writing these theories, but unfortunately I ran out of ideas, so I have to stop for now. I won’t stop writing theories, though. Every once in a while I will share theories in the comments, but it won’t be a daily thing. And if I get enough theories, I’ll do a Season 2 of Theory of the Day, but that might not happen. However, I do have something else planned, and I will announce it tomorrow.

If you’re referring to the Greek goddess costumes from the app, they were already added to the Avatar Studio Gift. They are ArtemisASG, DemesterASG, and NyxASG. 🙂
I’m not going to announce the thing I have planned today, but instead I will announce it tomorrow or Friday. I have something else to share. I think I finally figured out what the next island will be about. It has nothing to do with Amelia Earhart, and maybe aviation is actually a MINOR theme in this island. Instead, this island might be about this-
Once, many years ago, some random people were flying in a little plane. Then these evil aviator people came and crashed the little plane on a random tropical island in the South Pacific. This tropical island was once home to one of the greatest civilizations in Poptropica’s history, though now it is just ruins. So the castaways quickly made a new life. However, they had no idea there was a secret monkey civilization on the other side of the island. Then one day you show up… (If this makes no sense to you, look at the sneak peaks.)
I’m not sure what this island will be called, but it will probably be announced sometime in
Feburary, or maybe even be put on the map a week before the official announcement, like EFPR. Also, I have a feeling the new home island might come out TOMORROW. I don’t know for sure, but just keep an eye out for it, Poptropicans.

I’m done. Really. I’m done with all this glitch craziness. People are gonna get driven mad about this glitch stuff. Something as big as this magic “name genie” would take TONS of redesign to patch. I don’t mean to sound jealous. I just wish for some change in the glitch community of Poptropica. Hear me out, Fishstick.
So, what’s the issue? By offering this service for free to everyone, our goal is to eliminate all the competition surrounding “glitching” since everyone will have access to enjoy something as cool as custom names.
Still, glitches tear a community apart. They are just another thing that everyone wants. Again, I know that for Poptropica to fix a hack this big, it would take an extbelieve sive redesign of the whole code. I doubt Poptropica would patch it. And besides, it wouldn’t last forever. It would end up leaked one day or another. Take for example the ASG. That was the biggest kept secret. That ended up leaked. I believe this hack is gonna end up sharing the same fate, leaked. It will happen someday, Fishstick. I feel it. You can’t keep that hack safe forever. It will share the same fate as the rest of Poptropica’s hottest new glitch. Leaked, then patched. I’m sorry for ranting, call me jelly for not being apart of the underground community of Poptropica. What good is it? It turns you greedy. (I’m talking about some of Poptropica’s more known glitchers), not anyone here on the PHB. If people want to learn how to hack, let them. What’s stopping them? Better yet, hold a contest for a few rare accounts made by it. This is the stuff that makes a community crash and burn fast.
Remember, reality’s an illusion, the universe is a hologram! Buy gold, bye!

In a way its more like a service than a glitch because everyone is able to enjoy it and not just oneself.
This hack is kept between a few people because some people can and will abuse it. However we offer our services so that people don’t have to go to such great lengths to learn it. It’s not the matter of patching or not. That being said, it won’t stop certain people from finding it out.
There’s honestly no underground glitch community. The only reason this glitch is being kept is because irresponsible people would make inappropriate names, and that would frustrate Poptropica employees. They’re offering you an amazing service. I don’t see why you should even complain. Everyone agrees that glitches tear the community apart, but not like this. Trading and all. How will offering custom names burn the community? Keith and RL are doing a great thing, how about a thanks for preventing scamming of custom names instead of complaining to Fishy?

The secret method has only been shared with a trusted handful of people who have helped the PHB with distributing the Avatar Studio Gift and now the Custom Name Genie service. Don’t worry about it being leaked. 😉
I am mad! This thing is useless. I got an email from whoever creates the accounts saying it didn’t work. I got on Poptropica, and the account’s name was Poptropican.
I’m sorry to hear you’re having a problem with it – I’ll look into it. Please note that custom names that aren’t on the approved list of standard Poptropica names will show up as Poptropican in-game, but will appear on the Avatar Studio. For what it’s worth, Custom Name Genie has already served many happy users, so it’s not useless. 😉
Update: I’m told you didn’t follow the instructions we gave with the form. Please read over those so we can process a request for you that works.
Hmmmm. The response email was quite strange to the account request. Along with it saying the account was made and it responding to my question, it showed replies to other people from what it seemed. It sent the information for 7 other accounts in the email. I don’t think I was supposed to get those.
Anyways, would an asterisk show up on the avatar studio name if I were to have it? (Curious because that’s an alternative symbol to one that didn’t show up in the name. :P)
That’s odd. It was probably a mistake – I have told the glitching genies to be more careful in the future. 😉 Anyway, an asterisk would show up on the Avatar Studio, but not in-game.
Okay, thanks! 😀 The use of the asterisk would be purely avatar studio related anyways, so I’m fine with that. 😛
