The rumored convention island is a reality! Let me explain. 😛
While doing my creepy daily check on Poptropica’s servers, I found a strange title on the list of game files titled “con1”. I checked it out, and sure enough it was what I thought — the rumored convention island. In fact, it has the same name as what we’ve been calling it, PoptropiCon Island! 😀 After toying around a bit with the file names, I finally got into the island and found these amazing scenes.
Check out Pepe’s Pizza Puffs, which was also posted as a sneak peek on the Creators’ Blog along with a look at a pizza puff costume – could that be a bonus costume for members?
Also, con1 does mean that there will be other cons, thus meaning that this will be an episodic adventure. 🙄 I don’t know about you, but I don’t like having to wait a whole month before I can continue my adventure. I honestly like a story that you can play through and complete in one sitting.
From the looks of it, your task for episode 1 of PoptropiCon Island will be to get inside the convention center, considering that all the locations in it are outside.
Now, my thoughts: I am so glad that this is happening. If you saw the pictures in the gallery above, then you definitely know why I am so excited. The attention to detail is pretty awesome, and the premise is just as neat.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this unreleased tid bit. More info about the island is coming soon. 😀

Well,anyways, I have a feeling this island will scream “fan referencing” XD I’m excited for this, but I have no clue what it’ll be about.. I mean, after we get in.
Wouldn’t it be cool if they dressed up characters as PHB authors, and it’s readers? I could have a twin! XD I got the idea when you said “fan referencing” XD Now, HP, the world knows why I’m waiting until SI and MAI are fully completed for non members. I’ll do the same with this island and Arabian Nights if they criss cross episodes as BT suggested in her post.
I wonder with all the islands coming out as episodes, that the creators are running out of ideas?
lol well theyve pretty much told us that aready…
1. they ask poptropicans to create islands for them (which was fun, but a major hint that they needed help creating an island probably)
2. theyve touched on pretty much every genre there is… the moon, cryptids, carrots (lol), super powers, surviving in the forest, the ocean, creating movies, guarding malls, pirates, steam-punk-type thing (steamworks), ghosts, the human body, wild west, and even zombies!
3. like you said with the episodes (im assuming this is what you meant 😛 ) they might just need time to think about what is going to happen next in islands… i guess creativity cant be rushed 😉
I hate the episode thing. I have not and will not start Survival and Mission Atlantis until they finish making all the episodes – it seems dumb that you have to wait an extra month for the rest of the island. It’s a shame, too; Survival looks like an AMAZING island.

idk about you guys but I haven’t played poptropica in w agile mainly because of the episodes 😦

what if….. the creators read your comment/post/reply/whatever that had you say “PoptropiCon is the name for this new island” (or whatever it said 😛 ) and thats how they came up with the name for the island
or… the boring way… they had the name planned out before they even started the island. *yawn.*
